Zizzi - Solihull

I visited Zizzis for my birthday celebration with two friends. I am vegan and the meal that I had was the best vegan meal I have ever had in a restaurant. My two friends, who are not vegan had off the regular menu and were really pleased with their meals. I would recommend this restaurant to friends and family and I shall certainly be returning there.
The restaurant was very busy when we went in on a Saturday evening but the staff were managing well with only small delays between courses. Our food was all good and the winter set menu was great value. The only slight area for improvement on the food was that one of our calzones could have been a bit hotter.
We enjoyed our post-shopping meal, the pizza in particular was very tasty. We will use again when in the area.
As a Vegan for over 30 years it has always been difficult to eat out and it was a total surprise to see a Vegan menu with both deserts and wine included. We had a really enjoyable experience and a delicious meal. Most appreciated was the fact that we were able to enjoy a three course meal with our vegetarian companions and not feel left out when it came to desert. Although we didn't have any wine on this occasion the fact that the wines are suitable for vegans will certainly add to the experience when we visit again. I wish more restaurants were as forward thinking. Well done Zizzi from four very happy diners who will most definitely be back. My only complaint would be due to the cross contamination ( top marks for making that clear on your menu by the way!) we could not enjoy an afternoon coffee - and dare I say cake! Would it not be a good idea to upgrade your coffee machines or maybe use a separate smaller machine not only for vegans but for those who have dairy allergies. Just a thought! Overall a lovely experience, thank you.
This is a good value for money local restaurant serving tasty food. Trendy, but noisy when busy.
The service is always polite and approachable and will always try and help and advise if required, the food is delicious and well presented. You can get an Ale which is not always available from other restaurants and the price is fair. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and the staff and management are keen to look after you whatever your requirement; it's relaxed.
Our food selection was perfect. Our starters, Zizzi Anti Pasti and Bruschetta were a real treat followed by Beef & Venison Ragu with Pasta and the Special Salad were both very special and delicious as was a shared Tiramisu. The Zizzi house wine Nero D'Avola was more than acceptable at a very reasonable price. Lovely atmosphere with attentive waiter service. Our only gripe has to be the coffee as always Zizzi do not do good coffee which is a pity as they do so many things well.
Great staff, food and atmosphere and got a 25% off voucher
Great food & service. However in the main part of the restaurant, the tables are a bit too close together. We wanted a quiet corner to sit and chat, and the staff not only found us one, but we're not in any hurry to move us on as we took our time finishing the wine. Lovely evening- will definitely go back. A bit overpriced without Tesco tokens tho'.
Food was really good. The wood fired pizza oven does a great job of cooking a wide variety of pizza's with imaginative toppings.
Restaurant was a little noisy but it was a saturday evening and quite busy. All in all a good dining experience.
4 of us came here for an early evening meal prior to a concert at the LG arena. Warm welcome and good service. Food was good value and with drinks and 3 courses it came in at £85 which given what we had was good value. Recommended.
I've eaten at zizzi's quite a few times before and have always been happy with the food. I ordered the fish stew this time. I wouldn't describe what I got as a stew. I was expecting lots of sauce, but there was just a little bit of tomato on top of the seafood. It looked like it had been under the grill for a bit too long, which meant there were some burnt bits and shriveled mussles. Wouldn't choose this dish again. Especially as it was almost £15! My husband's pizza was nice (and huge).
Zizzi, I have always thought, was the best of the high street pizza chain restaurants. They seem to not have the plastic look about them that some of the others do and almost feel as though they are a "level above" what they actually offer, which is simply pasta and pizza.
I used to love the Harborne entry and after walking past the Solihull unit in the day time I thought that they had succumbed to the plastic, keep the costs low, approach that the sister chain has followed.
Thankfully my initial impression was far from accurate. We went on a Saturday night and the place was packed. However, this did not prevent the staff from providing good service and serving up some really excellent pizzas from the new menu. 4/5.
Simple but excellent.
Ate last Friday night in a half-empty restaurant. Starters took 35 mins to arrive (Calamari and two garlic breads - nothing fancy) then the mains took a further hour (two pizzas, two pastas dishes, again nothing difficult).
When it arrived food was good - tasty, well-presented and generously portioned. The table service was fine as well, polite, helpful, unobtrusive and very apologetic about the kitchen.
Sort the kitchen pace out, and everything will be as expected for this chain.
Booking was quite early in the evening so to rate the atmosphere is a bit unfair
simple fayre expected a little more Italian rustic
Garlic cheesy bread had caramelised onions.... Bit sweet
Puddings were lovely
Service attentive
My wife and i had a very tasty meal at Redolence Spice in Redditch. The service was second to none and the food beautiflly prepared and very different to the standard fair that you would expect from an Indian restaurant.
Great menu for kids. my little one loved the dough sticks! Friendly service and good atmosphere
Redolence Spice is a great restaurant right in Redditch town centre. The service was faultless, staff were attentive, polite and welcoming & the food was fantastic. Both the manager and the chef came out to our table to check everything was to our liking. The attention to detail was remarkable and we would highly recommend!
Disappointing experience.
Food was average. Service was a little slow although very friendly.
Nice place, pleasant atmosphere. But will not be returning anytime soon.
Good food, nice waiter
Great menu and looking great inside.
Initially service was good but later we did have to wait a very long time between our starters and main course - restaurant was not very busy so I think they had minimal staff in the kitchen. Also had to wait to ask for bill and pay as waiting staff were all at opposite end of restaurant in bar area.
Food was good - I think everyone in our party of 10 enjoyed it. I particularly liked the calamari starter and pizzas looked great.
Went to Zizzi on a Sunday night in Solihull, it was expectantly quiet early on but lovely intimate venue, great food (Calazone and chocolate tarte were fab) and the staff were really friendly and attentive. Highly recommend and will go again when in the area.
Fantastic service, great food
zizzis solihull-when we arrived there were not a lot of people there but it was a monday eveing. we got there on time and did not leave till after 11 due to the company. there was not a lot to choose from on the menu which was disappointing overall it was ok but due to the choice of menu l would not return
Redolence Spice is located just up Unicorn Hill from the train station in Redditch, on the right as you head in to town. Redolence Spice is located in an old building, but the owners have done well to bring the decor up to standard. There is an obvious limit that the building's age causes, but they've done well with what they have. The staff were attentive to start with and chatty enough without becoming unprofessional, but we skipped desert as it was starting to get busy and things were slowing
I went to zizzis in solihull never been there herad loads about the chain and was impressed with the service and food l had calamari as my starter and for my main was a chicken breast with spinach and red onions it was very nice this main was recommended from my sister in law which was very appertising.
Ate there on a Friday night, even though it was busy service was quck & very friendly. Food was good & very fairly priced. Nice place.
Love Zizzi's so much
Redolence Spice, Redditch
Great Service and food good. Airconditioning welcome.
Would like to go back again to try some more usual dishes as what we had we could not compare against our usual restaurant.
A lovely lunch. We enjoyed the chicken rigatoni and rissotto verde, followed by the delicious tiramisu. Portions were generous. Food good value but we felt the pinot grigio was a little over-priced. Will probably go again.
We've been looking for a good Indian restaurant in Redditch for over a year. I think now we have found it!
You would never know it was there, sitting on the first floor with just a small to show it's exsistance. An absolute fantastic hidden gem.
Food was well presented and tasty.Cutley clean. The staff was attentive and polite.
My wife stated the toilets were very clean.
I would recommend this place to anyone and will no doubt be using again.
This was the first time we had eaten at this restaurant, the staff were so friendly and gave great recommendations. The food was excellent especially the fish dishes. The price was very reasonable even with drinks and side orders we ate for under £50 for two people. Great restaurant would definitely recommend!!
Absolutely lovely. Food was fantastic and service was good. Great atmosphere and all staff were very friendly. Be going again soon!!!
Zizzi,Solihull. I knew that being a chain you could not expect anything special from this place. I had pizza and it was dry, like a piece of bread left in the hoven. Service was very good.
very nice atmosphere, very good food, very good service a little of the exspensive side but overall a good nite out.
Zizzi in Solihull town centre was an excellent venue for a quiet meal & a catch up. Service was well paced, menu is extensive & the food was of a high standard.
Arrived around 5.20pm and had the place to ourselves. Waitress was friendly and gave good advice (we were first time visitors to Zizzi) and our food was good. The garlic bread was well presented on a long wooden platter, nicely sliced - a yummy accomaniment to our pasta.
BEWARE-Toptable advertised that Zizzi were offering 2 for £10 but when directed to book, there was no reference to this and on arrival at the restaurant we were informed that we need to print a voucher to qualify. Poor show!!
