Zizzi - Maidstone
Booked online Sat morning for a table at 7pm that night only to get there and find out the restaurant was closed and had been since Thursday due to unexpected circumstances. Should have prevented online bookings if you knew you were shut.
We had terrible service and food was not good.
Food bland and came out cold, sent back and didnt bother to order a replacement
You get what you expect from a chain restaurant.
I would like to see the menu changing more often and also a little more space between tables.
Otherwise all fair.
Effortless booking followed by quick efficient service and good food & cocktails. I think I'll visit again 😊
the website opentable I booked my table off is pointless they had no record of my booking
We had the worst experience here with our waitress being rude to us and just dumping us on a seat with no follow up to the point we had to walk out after 40 mins and go to
Ask we were not happy
Good service and lovely food at a reasonable price. Particularly like the children's menu which is full of healthier options, and my three year old loves the food too.
Apparently it was too much of a problem to ask for a bigger table, as the waitress made it very clear she wasn't happy with it, and then decided to seat the next group of four behind us on the bigger table that was being prepared for us. Naturally we took our business elsewhere. Attempted to eat in this four times now and this was the third time we have walked out because of terrible service. Will never return and would never recommend.
The restaurant wasn't particularly busy, despite this we waited 20 mins for a drink to arrive, having to ask where it was . This was followed by a further wait of 35 minutes for a sharing garlic bread,( hardly a difficult or time consuming task?!) Finally after enquiring if the order had been lost or overlooked, the main course arrived approx 40 later. ( a dried out fish skewer, and pasta for my friend)
If I hadn't been with someone who I hadn't seen in ages, I would have caused a scene and either just walked out or refused to pay the bill. I can't remember a worse meal out EVER, and will not be returning considering there's many more restaurants in Maidstone to choose from!!
I have visited ZiZZi's of Maidstone a few times and found the food and table service to be good. My only criticism is the front door hosting. On every visit we have waited to be seated even when not busy. No "We'll be with you shortly", No "welcome to Zizzi's". No "Enjoy your meal" when seated, No customer service. The host walks by without eye contact, on every occasion. No interest. The seating host is your first contact with the restaurant and a friendly greet makes the guests feel welcome.
Lovely Evening as always. Lovely food, great atmosphere.
Good honest food Warm friendly staff Nothing was to much trouble great value for money. Will be returning
Lovely meal with our two grandaughters' service was excellent, lovely surroundings. Will definatelly go back!!
We turned up.... to be told the Restaurant was under refurbishment... therefore CLOSED and it was an oversight that they were still accepting Bookings on Open Table..!!!! Really NOT HAPPY as we drove a 30mile round Trip for the Meal..!!
We went to Prezzo over the road without a Booking, we were immediately seated and enjoyed a lovey meal..!!!!
As usual a great experience, relaxed and a great atmosphere. Our waiter was freindly and effect any We will be back😊
Dreadfully slow service, cold main courses. Won't be going back. Father's Day is a busy day, so why be understaffed knowin it's going to be busy!? Poor
We came in around 10pm and the staff were very off with us, it was clear they didn't want us to sit down and eat and were eager to get us out. Was very rude and uncomfortable
Made a last minute booking to go for dinner on a Saturday evening with the family.
Busy and buzzy from early on in the evening. We arrived early for out 6.30 booking and we're taken through very quickly. Other than asking for pencils to keep the hooligans from driving us nuts.
Service was attentive and adequate for the style of eatery.
Menu was as expected, and the food met our expectation. Fritto Misto was delicious, if a little greasy (again expected, it's deep fried).
Chicken and Pancetta salad stood out as a favourite.
The big surprise was after 3 courses and wine and coffee, a small note was dropped beside us saying the whole meal was on Zizzi's! Wow and thanks Zizzi's, we'll be back and happily pay for our meal. See you soon.......
It was abusy Friday night. As new diners arrived we were all sat in the same area which resulted in a noisy time till food arrived. The table was sticky but I didn't complain as the restaurant was very busy. Our table wasn't ready but we had booked. We were not welcomed as we arrived as the the staff on door were rushing around. The seats were at very different heights so I felt uncomfortable. I was disappointed overall.
The food was great as was the selection.
The waitress was very friendly and efficient.
I would not choose Zizzi again. Shame as the food is good.
Service received last night was lousy, we must have had the most ignorant impolite waiter in the restaurant
Won't be going to zizzi Maidstone again for a very long time if at all.
Plus don't bother using the open table app to book a table as the restaurant manager told me she never checks her emails and that's why they knew nothing about our reservation
Came here with a friend to catch up over a meal. The food was alright but nothing special. I have pollo della casa which was baked pasta and a few bits of chicken swimming in something that tasted just like mushroom soup. I won't be ordering that again. Our waitress wasn't friendly at all and appeared to have a permanent scowl on her face. She asked us if everything was okay during our meal and then again at the end of our meal but there was nothing polite about her manner - she came across as being in a bad mood. I've visited here before but after this visit I won't be hurrying back anytime soon.
I've been to Zizzi's many times before but this was my first experience booking through Open Table. I was happy with the ease at which I booked at table for 8 people (for my birthday).
Unfortunately I had to phone them directly to add another person as they're online booking capabilities were limited to 8 people. This in itself went fine, they found the booking straight away and amended it. Great.
When 9 of us turned up at the restaurant, they had no knowledge of the booking. Massive failure on their part. They were very apologetic and found us a table; it was a Wednesday so wasn't exactly the busiest. Quite what would have happened if it were a weekend or they didn't have any space. I still had the booking confirmation on my phone but no space is no space.
I hope this was an isolated incident and a result of human error and not related to Open Table. However it has resulted in my lost faith in this service.
The food was as good as always and the service was decent. They even brought out a birthday cake supplied by my friends.
Service does not justify food price. It was tasty when it arrived but waiting staff poor. Especially when they had a staff meal with customers still in the restaurant being loud and noisy
No table reservation for us received from open table, they fitted us in.
We really enjoyed the whole eve except service got slow at the end. Food was delicious. We introduced 2 friends to Zizzi's and they would go back again.
The food was very good, as always & our waiter was very attentive. However, we had to wait for nearly an hour before our main course. We had 2 young children with us, so this was difficult, as well as being starving. It was a very long wait between starters & main.
Fsntastic food great atmosphere. Good temperature felt very relaxed. Decor was amazing .
We booked a table for two on a Friday night - it was a busy evening but having to wait 20 minutes beyond our reservation was disappointing.
Service was slow after sitting down, eventually ate an hour after the time the table had been booked for.
Food was okay, nothing out of the ordinary.
Ambience was spoiled somewhat by a round of 'happy birthday' - this would have been acceptable except that it was followed by the flashing on and off of the house lights which is something I would expect from the lower end of the chain restaurant market.
I've had good experience at Zizzi before, sadly this was not on a par.
All food cold and slow on service and we were placed at the back where it was freezing. Our food had been left sitting on the counter for over 10mins. I would not recommend zizzi maidstone (well at least not on a Monday)
Food is always lovely and not long to wait for it! Always recommend Zizzi!
Had a lovely lunch , not too busy and well catered for kids. Food was very nice and price was reasonable all plates were licked clean
We were a party of six and most of us were very pleased with our food. 1 person said their pizza was a bit dry and over cooked (but we didn't complain so didn't give the restaurant the opportunity to amend). Restaurant was very busy but the waitress was very friendly. Particularly good was the allergy menu, which was extensively used by one member of the party.
Zizi are a chain of restaurant and most of the time the food and service is good but there have been occasions when it's not so good. Overall ok.
We have enjoyed lunch most Xmas eves at Zizzi's of Maidstone and of course lunches inbetween at various branches up and down the country (last before this was Exeter)
Initially the restaurant hadn't received my booking but they accommodated a party for 3 which was great. Unfortunately that is where the service ended really. I was ten minutes early and I sat at my table with not even a menu to look at for 5 minutes, then I received the menu and wasn't ableto order my drinks for a further 15 minutes - once my colleagues had been there for 5! Terrible really.
The food took forever to come out - we booked for 8pm and we ate at 9.15! With NO starters.
The entertainment, in the form a customers having a row and sparking a very lour argument was, exactly that, entertaining!
I have to say though, we eat here all the time and this is unusual. Therefore my scores are reflective of that.
Food was ok but we both had sea food. The dish had mussels in there shells. Well they must have done a bunk as nealy all the shells were empty. Would have been better to put more food in and not wasted the room on the plate with empty shells.
Top table did not send my booking through to the restaurant, so when we arrived we were not booked in. However, the staff were very accomodating and made room for us, although the restaurant was too busy and service was slow. However, good food as always!
Girls night out. Fantastic serves, food and overall experience. Only comment was I booked through top table, and when I arrived my reservation was not on the list, luckily they had a table that we could have, otherwise I may have written a different review!!
Struggled to find a restaurant for Mother's day (left it a little late as usual). Managed to get a table for 5 at Zizzi's in Maidstone. Service was fantastic from the minute we walked in, and continued in that vein throughout. The food was of a very high standard for a "franchise", and the overall family dining experience was perfect. Will definitely eat here again.
This is the fourth Xmas eve lunch we have enjoyed with children at Maidstone Zizzi's always consistently good , we have dined in Zizzi restaurants as far as Exeter but this is our local , the only slight downside is that they do not accept toptable cheques in whole or part , this should not distract however as all aspects are great and they are very good value.
