For a hotel restaurant the food was good and service was great. Order was taken promptly and food was served quickly. We did not have to rush in order to get back to work which is often not the case with hotel restaurants.
Great ambiance, although very slow on a Friday night @ 8pm. Waiter gave us the wrong appetizer but quickly fixed it. Food was excellent. Manager walked by to see how everything was going. Highlights were the tempura green beans, pear salad, and caramel chocolate cake.
My omelet was fantastic, the staff was attentive, professional, courteous and friendly. Take the eggs benedict off the menu, everyone at my table who tried it was very disappointed, other than that 5 stars across the board.
The staff is so wonderful we used a Groupon and they were super cool about it, even offered us a discount card to use again. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was adorable. Thank. You guys
The meal was fantastic and the presentation was flawless. Wanted to have a quiet dinner in downtown LA and it happened.
It was super quiet as no one was there...The worst thing is that all food was terrible. Do not try. I have no doubt it is not worth, waste of your time and money.
The staff were wonderful... the food was great, we had a lovely time (for a group of 18, we were happy to find a place where we could relax & enjoy)
Lovely food and atmosphere
The place was empty for Saturday night. Extremely quite.
This was a first-time visit for us and the other couple with us. The food was really, really good, the portions were very generous, and we enjoyed the "share" choices - they were great - probably could have skipped the main dish and just had another "share" item! The service was very attentive but not intrusive. We will definitely make this a "before the theater" spot.
All though polite, did not consider that I stated special occasion. Food was nice but the waiter did not recommend anything even when we asked what do you recommend. He just said sure it’s good.
The food selection is great.. the service is excellent.
restaurant was completely empty so you’d figure the service would be phenomenal. Unfortunately the service was extremely slow and made me not want to come back. If it were to be busy I could imagine how long it would take to get service. Food was really good though.
A new restaurant my friends and I wanted to try for dineLA; the service was great and our food was delicious. We'll definitely return to try other items on the menu.
Good food, terrible parking!
The prix fix menu was extraordinary. The service was excellent. We are definitely going there again.
Some of the worst service I have had in a LONG time. No one came to refill drinks, took ages to order, took longer for food to come out. The restaurant was practically empty.
Terrible service. Sat us at booth that looks directly into setting sun. We told them we had theater Tix, had to ask repeatedly to bring last course and check. Then bill was wrong and took 15 minutes to settle. Food was mediocre while prices were high. AVOID.
Excellent food presentation and nice ambiance.
It was my first time here, with a group of 8. we had reservations and were seated promptly, the service was curteous and at the right speed, not too fast, not too slow, just right. the food was very good, everyone seemed to enjoy thier food very much. I got the corn chowder which was delicios...but the consistency was off, and my steak sandwich was a tad under-seasoned. I like my steak over-seasoned though so this might just be a personal prefrence. overall, we had a great experience.
I had a Living Social coupon that I bought because a friend and I were going to an matinee at the Dorothy Chandler. It was a short walk - 15 minutes - to Ziran from the theater. When we got there - around 5:30 on a Sunday night - the hotel looked deserted. There were 2 people at the bar and two other couples in the restaurant. That said, I'm not holding it against them because maybe the hotel caters to business travelers during the week? It's a beautiful hotel lobby and bar and the restaurant was very pretty as well and quiet. We sat on a very comfy couch in the bar/lounge area and had 2 wonderful specialty cocktails before dinner .
At dinner our waiter was helpful and the service was great. The food was beautifully presented and tasty. I think it's a good choice for a lovely dinner before the theater, or if your travels take you downtown for museum going.
My friend and I enjoyed the lunch very much. The service was excellent and the food is delicious. We especially enjoyed the ambiance and we will definitely go back again.
The occasion was Mother’s Day. Brunch was good, I’m vegan so there were not a lot o choices for me which was a bit disappointing. My family did enjoy the selection that were offered.
Our first experience at Ziran was for the Mother's Day Brunch this year and I was very impressed! The service staff was wonderful, from the beginning and throughout brunch. The food selection was also great, with just a little bit of everything and a fresh waffle station, which was my favorite. I will definitely be returning.
Very poor wine list. Over priced. The place was freezing. Sad experience
Excellent service; great for a working breakfast/lunch. Plenty of room at the table, and some tables have outlets nearby for laptop. We were not rushed out once we finished our meal. And the food was very good, fresh and easy to find something to satisfy everyone's dietary weirdness! Overall a very good place to go - comfortable, not noisy, good food and helpful, considerate service.
Nice place, quite and the environment very comfortable to enjoy dinner. Will come back.
Came in for DineLA. Service was great and food was great. We've informed them that we have limited time and they were able to serve us quickly. Very grateful for that.
We really enjoyed our food. The service was also very warm and attentive. What a nice little find.
Service was slow considering there weren't many seated tables during a dineLA lunch. Food took a while to come out as well; would not recommend for lunch during work, but overall feel might be better for a dinner. Besides the alarms/drills that were being conducted, the place itself was rather quiet.
Nice and relaxing
We have loved Ziran since we visited when it was newly open several years ago!
It is our go-to place for a night out, a place to celebrate and enjoy a meal!
I was in LA on business trip stayed at the LA Hotel. I enjoyed breakfast a dinner at Ziran's. Great atmosphere, good food and excellent service.
Food was terrible. I had black bass, and it may have been off. Salad leaves were limp to slimy. Restaurant is huge, and we were only people in it on a Saturday night. Will not be returning, ever.
For an in-hotel restaurant, actually quite nice and food is fresh and tasty. Menu is nothing fancy, but maybe the dinner menu has more exotic options? Very nice bar directly outside the restaurant, but there might be one in Ziran that I didn't notice. Very open air and nice lighting. If you take the Dash, get off on 4th nor 3rd!!!
The service was horrible it took 30 minutes to get water we were there for three hours
This is the fifth time that I have dined there. The food has been consistently good each time. I absolutely love their corn chowder, although they call it something else. Either way it's very delicious.
Bought a Groupon for a prefixed dinner and the main entree and dessert were beyond horrible. The seabass was so soggy that it was like mash potatoes and the chicken had a bad taste to it. We did not touch it and the staff did not bother to take into consideration our comment that it was not good. We went on a Friday at 8pm and there were only a total of 2 other tables dining. I would never go back.
It turned out to be our best restaurant. I had made reservations elsewhere, but it cancelled due to closure for a holiday, so I was scrambling to find another one. The party of five praised Ziran. It was quiet enough for conversation, food was tasty and well presented, and the ambience was nice. Thanks for a lovely evening.
Tasty food and great service excellent all around !
