Zinqué - West Hollywood
It was nice to have a meal out. Lovely evening just a bit difficult to tell who worked there. No uniform or name tags.
Great appetizers! Do not recommend the "Le Bowl."
The host was extremely rude right from the start! I let it go and sat our table on the street under a tent next to concrete barriers. The level of noise due to the cars driving , since we we on the street as well, was very high plus the side of the tent would keep flowing back and forth every time a car would drive by. I went up to the host and explained the situation and kindly asked to be moved to another table. He said he will check and let me know. Meanwhile there were a few tables, before we sat down and after we sat down, that were still available. He came back and with an attitude saying there are no tables available and this is it! You have to sit here! To which I said thank you and we all got up and left the restaurant.
So, to the host that night, drop your attitude otherwise find another job where you don’t need to talk to customers because you CLEARLY suck at it!
Worst service ever. Cold outside and half their heaters were not operating. Refused to move us to another table even though I had made a reservation in advance. Half of their menu was unavailable or out of stock- of course everything my mom and I wanted to order. Absolutely awful service and did not give me my change back as requested to the waiter. Was NEVER offered something to drink or told of any specials. Horrible ambiance- they literally threw us in a corner, no heat on a cold windy night, and barely gave us the opportunity to order much other than an appetizer. After visiting with my dad earlier in the day at the hospital for him needing a transplant, my mom and I were just looking for a nice dinner and willing to drop $ to get our minds off of things. Will never be returning. Sad as we thought we could support a local LA business with many repeat visits. Never again. Severely disappointed. Don’t go unless you call and request the best table in the house and wear five jackets I guess- oh and ask if they have the full menu available.
So happy to find this little spot in WeHo. The vibe is really nice and it’s perfect date night spot as well as a cool place for night out with friends. Limited parking in front, but plenty of parking down the street. Def coming back for more wine!
Zinque West Hollywood is always a good choice. It has a nice garden setting good atmosphere and the food and drinks are great.
We had the watermelon and burrata appetizer, the rotisserie chicken and a kale salad.
The appetizer was good, though I thought there was too much pepper to the point that it made me cough repeatedly (which was as you can imagine very embarrassing now a days).
The chicken was so dry that it was like chewing on leather. I honestly have never had drier, overcooked chicken in my life.
The kale salad was good.
The service was terrible. First for the appetizer which came in a big bowl we asked for plates. The busboy brought only one plate. We had to ask for a second — otherwise we would have to split this huge thing from the get go since in this time of COVID we really didn’t want to eat from the same plate if one of us decided we wanted more than the other. I guess they needed room in the dishwasher. The waiter then forgot my wine. He was cleaning and doing stuff behind the bar and didn’t bring it until I caught his attention and waived at him, we had already finished the appetizer. No apology or acknowledgment that it had happened—I thought, no big deal, people forget. Then no one asked us if we were enjoying our meal or if we needed anything. Another person came at the end and asked me if I wanted to take the rest of my leather chicken home. I don’t know who she was—I initially thought she was a hostess. I told her about the chicken and that no one had checked in on us throughout the meal. SHE SAID NOTHING!!! No response whatsoever!! She then brought us the check in paper form. A few minutes go by and then our waiter came with the mobile electronic check for us to sign. Now he is all chatty asking about our weekend. I’m wondering if the other lady said something to him. Sorry but I didn’t come to the restaurant to chat with you—after our meal— when you didn’t have enough time to come “chat” about if we were happy with our food or needed anything. Not to mention he STILL didn’t ask.
So disappointed, especially as this place is walking distance from my home.
The staff were very very nice and accomodating during Covid. Props to the waiters and servers -- they really did a great job and were super friendly. Obviously sitting in the street outside during Covid doesn't make for the most pleasant ambience, but they did the best they could and there's no knocking them for that.
Perfect place to have dinner out door! We also enjoyed the food very much.
This place is definitely better for getting drinks but they don’t have a full bar. The food was really average
Great reassurance I was there several time and food and the service are very good
Service was outrageously late. We were seated at 9:40 and the main dish arrived at 11 pm after we were told several times to wait few more minutes. The manager said he was sorry but ultimately it was normal timing. I suggest you have a sandwich in your side bag just in case you get really hungry waiting for your food.
I ordered a Lasagne and my daughter ordered a hamburger. My lasagne was brought out first but it was 10 to 15 minutes later my daughter’s hamburger was brought out - and it wasn’t exactly what she ordered - it had sauce on it and it came with salad instead of fries.
Our server rarely checked in on us and when he did, he said he get us the fries, but they never came and we never saw him again.
When I mentioned to the host, who was taking care of our bill, our experience- she just said “oh we serve food tapas style” I think that was kinda lame - a lasagne and cheeseburger are not tapas.
Very nice casual service. The steak frite was really good, the meat was excellent, better than some I have at twice the price in other restaurants, I was disappointed by the frozen french fries. Many restaurants are able to do better and have better prepacked or fresh french fries. Maybe next time?
we celebrated my girlfriends birthday during covid in the outdoor patio. The service was amazing and the food was great too.
Appetisers was amazing!
Haven't been there for some time, and the food is still very good, impeccable service, rose wine kept in an ice bucket without having to ask.
why not 5 stars? well when I ordered the food, I was not expecting the appetizers (or bites as they call it) and the main dish would all show up at once. Had to ask for the steak frites to be kept in the kitchen and the fries were a bit saggy after all the time it took us to finish the appetizers.
This was my fourth visit to Zinque and second time for my partner. We were celebrating his birthday. It was his second visit and prior to it he called Zinque "his new favorite place. However, our service was poor, unlike our previous experiences. The waitress was not terribly nice and never asked about the food or if we needed anything. The fries that were with the steak frites were cold. My partner's dessert was slightly burnt on the bottom. I suspect this was just an off night, but thought I should share.
At this point i would still recommend but with caution.
Obviously being an employee at a restaurant is a difficult task right now. But I have to give the staff a lot of credit for working in these conditions and still being able to have a pleasant demeanor. Everyone was super friendly and attentive. Food is always good and the Rose was cold and refreshing. Thank you.
Great location, chic place, yummy food and very good service
Very nice of management to provide complimentary birthday cake
Amazing service and beautiful environment. We loved the food and felt very safe
Such good service! (As always) wonderful wine and food and nice seating outside. Lovely overall ambience and vibe.
Flies were unbearable! Won’t be back.
I have been bragging to a friend about Zinque and Saturday we went and he completely agreed. It is one of my favorites and now one of his!
Our food was fantastic and every staff member was kind and polite. Our service however was not very attentive. We waited far too long to order each course and had to request things several times in order to get them (extra knives etc).
Zinque always has an energetic atmosphere, and for covid-time they've expanded into the sidewalk. However, the food leaves something to be desired. Take their side dish "ratatouille" which was basically eggplant sauteed in excessive oil -- the classic dish should have zucchini (or a squash of some kind), peppers, and tomato. For the money they should have put more effort into this.
Males service waiters were quite pleasant. There was a female server who was clearly not happy to be at work.
The food nothing else but fair.
I expected more.
Service was very unfortunate. We were greeted by rudeness and unpleasant responses to our questions. This continued throughout the evening.
The service was a little slow, and our server finally shared with us (at the end of our meal) that they have been short-staffed. The food was quite good; particularly recommend the mushroom flat bread and the charcuterie and cheese combo. The grilled shrimp was delicious - tasty and juicy! We also got the chicken with the potato au gratin; the potatoes were delicious but the chicken was quite dry. Cocktails were delicious and refreshing.
I have been an OG here since it opened, always consistent and awesome.
beautifully distanced, great set up, felt very safe
Virus safety is very good. Food is excellent as is the service. Big outdoor area to sit.
The Lasagna meal is very good. The Branzino fish is very good, would be nice if they removed the bones. The fish eyes winked at me and the fish looked lonely. :) Wine prices are reasonable.
Went during happy hour with three friends. Waitstaff were wearing masks and tables were distanced. The food was delicious and the service impeccable. Even though it was happy hour, the bill did get up pretty high. But worth it. Will go again!
Nice, outdoor patio that feels cozy because of the greenery and plants. We decided to share plates, so we could try more items. We fell in love with the deviled eggs, but wished there were more.
Personally like the venice location better. The food was alright, nothing spectacular
Absolutely wonderful patio with great service. Super tapas style plates or full dishes. Love the spicy margarita made with wine. So cute!
It was girls night. The service amazing they have very friendly staff love it!!!
Doing a good job , good food, less tables outdoor would be even better for the moment
Nice atmosphere for dinner in West Hollywood. Appetizers are great, Main courses are fair.
