If you sit on the patio make sure you are near a heat lamp, we were freezing as we were at the one table that did not have a lamp.

Second time here. Love this place. Had the same great waitress again. So nice. Attentive but never intrusive. Made great recommendations. Didn't bat an eye when I sent back the ginger beer I ordered which arrived in a glass with ice. (I wanted it neat and in the bottle). Didn't care that I had to leave our occupied table for about 30minutes to deal with an urgent matter. Very European vibe in food and service. Zinque is a go-to spot for me.

Delicious food with a creative flair, excellent outdoor seating, service that was both low-key and attentive, and fun people-watching! There was a good range of choices, both entrees and small plates, and the wine suggestions were excellent. Definitely a find, and we will be returning soon.

The food was good except the steak had a char on the outside which was as inedible as shoe leather. The worse part of the experience was the chairs. They were small, unpadded metal rounds with a wire torture device for a back. They were barstool height so you couldn’t put your feet on the ground to alleviate the pressure on your legs. After about 30 minutes of sitting in them my legs were going numb and my back was on fire. I had to stand for the remainder of the meal. The waitstaff was friendly but passed my table by too often for the table next to me, which had more guests, before asking if we needed anything. Perhaps just an oversight as my table was back in a corner but very annoying when I had to wait at my table which had already been cleared by the buss boy for a long time to get my check. I finally flagged the waitstaff down to ask for my check and it was very apparent by the curt reply that I had bothered the waitstaff for asking. I will never go back.

Went for happy hour. Good wine, but very small pour IE little too expensive for happy hour. Super good waiter. Good plates. But, not happy about minimal amount of wine we got per glass.

We tried it both for breakfast and for lunch.
The ambience is cool: cozy and a bit romantic. While the staff very nice (more in the evening that not in the morning).
The menu is varied and it can satisfy everyone's taste (from vegetarian to carnivore.
Great wine list and great music on Saturday (maybe don't go there on Saturday if you need a quiet place to talk) ;)

Always good at Zinque Try the moules frites, charcuterie, a Moscow Mule or a glass of Sancerre.

Great food, service and overall experience sitting outside. I've been twice before inside and it was also a great place to have a glass of wine and a small meal.

Our table was not ready when we arrived. We had to wait 15 minutes. We were then given a table directly next to the front door, with people lining up next to our table. I actually saw a group of four sitting at this table , only waiting to be seated at an actual table for dinner.
We asked for a new table, and the communal table was offered as our only option, it seems to me that this place over books and does not honor the open table reservations.

Relaxed, authentic French vibe ... most friendly people, excellent food -- grilled prawns, moules, caprese salad, frites, wine ... lovely tarts for dessert.

Highly recommend ... would easily eat here every night.

The food is good. The service can be slow- I guess spotty and relaxed (but friendly). This is just a bar so one shouldn't expect a silver star dining experience, even if the prices might deceive one into thinking it is. Nothing exceptional about the place and one pays the Abbott Kinney tax !

Zinque is an attractive bistro that serves very simple food...salads, burger quiche and sandwiches. Happy Hour has nice wine specials and good flatbread appetizers. It is very loud inside because of patrons who don't have "Inside voices" plus music. If all that appeals to you, this is a cute place with decent food and friendly service. Probably best suited to younger patrons who don't have trouble hearing over the din.

Food was cold. Every dish! The flatbread, ratatouille, and Brussels sprouts, all room temp or cold. Kind of lame considering the cost. Our meal was over 100 bux. For two people. At least the wine was good. I like zinque a lot and the last two times I've been there this week have been off. That's why I am numbed and writing this. Come one Zinque!

Overall really nice, except the scent of cigarette smoke coming in the front door which competes with the food and wine. Very distracting.

Same thing when a person comes in with too much cologne or perfume. The difference is that the restaurant could ask smokers to not smoke in front of the restaurant door.

Decent spot for a quick bite or drink on Abbot Kinney. Large bar area with lengthy wine list etc. Long wait (event with a reservation was a surprise). Also most of the tables are communal, so if you want a private table you should request in the reservation.

Zinc is a great place for a casual meal. Easy parking makes it a no stress venue. I had the tuna tartine , cauliflower and pear tart. All satisfying. Service is superb. Very attentive. I was going to Pacific Coast Theater which is a long walk.

The place is very cute, service is very European... meaning slow. The paté was lovely as was the sauce on the mussels, however the mussels themselves were some of the smallest I've ever seen. The burger was very underseasoned. I'd go back to try more small plates and skip mains.

Enjoyed my dining experience at Zinque. We were seated quickly. They have a great wine collection and my Russian River chardonnay was excellent. Ordered the cheese plate with a side of salmon for a perfect light dinner. Cool, fun, inclusive ambiance. Will definitely come back.

Location & ambience are good - food was decent. Not a ton of flavor in the food we ordered (salad bowl, mushroom flatbread). Spicy Margarita was great! Arrived early to 8pm reservation and hostess said if the rest of our party wasn't there right at 8pm she would have to give our table away. Place was not very crowded - it was odd.

Zinque/Venice is a perfect neighborhood spot for Venice artists mingling with techies and enjoying French bistro food and decent wines and cocktails. The patio is the place to sit in the evenings as the indoor space is often too loud for good conversation. I like their steak frites, moules frites and salade nicoise.

The food and service were very good. The location is good, adjacent to the vibrant Abbot Kinney area of Venice. Parking is a minor issue, but worth it. You should know the restaurant is "energetic", meaning fairly loud. For happy hour, great. For quiet conversation, not so much. If you sit out on the patio, which we did, the noise is much better. Overall, a very good restaurant, good service and worthwhile. We will return.
