Zinna's Bistro Ratings and Reviews
We were there for a business dinner, on a Tuesday. Ambient noise was controlled (restaurant was not full) and the food and service were both very good. I have been to Zina's several times and always happy with the experience. It can get noisy on holidays when very full, but other times it's fine. Recommended.
We enjoyed our meal at Zinnas .The calamari was delicious and a sizeable portion to share. The short rib was yummy and so was the bronzini. We also enjoyed the apple crisp for dessert. Will definitely dine here again. We also had dinner here last summer and the outside dining area was charming and we look forward to sitting out there again. That evening we enjoyed the wings as an appetizer, and our meals were the salmon and the pork chop and both were awesome!
This is not our first trip to Zinna's. Food and service are always great. It's also a BYOB which is a plus. We have had a number of affairs here as well (baby showers, 90th bday party, etc.). Zinna's does an excellent job with accommodating a big group and doing a wonderful job with service and food. I would highly recommend Zinna's. We will definitely be back!
The food was excellent! The chef recommend risotto for a gluten free option over my frutti Di mare and it was delicious! The pork chops, Salmon and short ribs were fantastic ! We all enjoyed the beet carpachio salad and desert! The lemon cheesecake and carrot cake were super delicious!
Overall a great night out!!
Casual and Comfortable. We went for lunch - several good choices from standard to creative - something for everyone. The Mediterranean Salad was perfect - crispy greens and not overly dressed. The chicken panini was wonderful (I asked them to hold the avocado) - crispy focaccia, not greasy - took half home for dinner. The fries were delicious - well-done and nicely seasoned. The only drawback - the noise level - tough to carry on a conversation even though the room wasn't filled. But I'd still recommend and go back. Love to support independent restaurants!!
Been going here for years and never had a complaint. Food And service has always been excellent. We really love this place the pasta it amazing but tonight things weren’t as good as usual. Service was so slow and hard to get even though the restaurant wasn’t full as it usually is and the food was good but not great like it always has been. Will go back though, hopefully it was just a bad night.
This was a first visit here and a mid point for meeting up with friends. First, the bread was a poor quality, toasted ciabatta, not a crusty semolina quality bread. Eggplant rollatine was good, the best part of the meal. The Caesar salad was drenched in a bottled dressing and topped with that same ciabatta bread croutons. I did not try the soup special (cream of mushroom) but our friends said it was good. Bronzino entree at $26 was of poor quality, thin filet over some starch. It looked as bad as it tasted. The short rib "square block" of meat, at $26, did not fair any better. It was just dropped on the plate with a brown sauce and sat next to a ring mold of rice. Very unappealing presentation. The chicken Parmesan with spaghetti looked meh and tasted the same. My shellfish over spaghetti at $26 was just pitiful. The pasta was pre-cooked, not al dente, as I requested. You can tell it was sitting for a while, before it was reheated, because the shape of the spaghetti was distorted (with some random penne mixed in) and couldn't hold the non existent sauce. I had to request a side of marinara, that came out in a tiny ramekin. The shellfish (not an adequate ratio of fish to pasta) was also just okay, no flavor. Hot pepper seeds and grated cheese could not save this entree. The dessert and coffees were standard fair. In my opinion, the prices charged were not in line with the sub par quality of the food.
Was very excited to finally try this place I asked if shrimp could be replaced with salmon otherwise keep as is. Chef said No. ok. Then I’ll have branzino. Please leave off scampi sauce. I can’t have the sauce due to allergies I’ll eat plain. Chef again said no we are too busy. What? ?? In today’s day and age that is ridiculous. Coffee was burnt and no bread was served. Completely disappointed
To start, the waiter was excellent. He was attentive but gave us the time we needed. Our party of six shared two appetizers, risotto balls and meatballs, that were very flavorful but we’re not hot. All of the entrees were excellent, and hot! The menu was creative and reasonably priced. I would definitely go back.
Didn’t really feel they even had our reservation. Probably didn’t even need it. Big party going on. Very noisy and bright. Would have been nicer if the lights were dimmed and they had tablecloths to deaden the noise. Noticed other seats had cushions, our didn’t. A little uncomfortable. Had mentioned it was my husbands 70th birthday when reservation was made. Nothing special done with this. Husband asked if his dish could be made with penne instead of spaghetti. Waiter checked and said yes but dish came with the spaghetti. Dinners were ok. Harvest salad was very very good as was the bread and dipping oil.
Our spinach salad had an amazing warm dressing but could have used more spinach. Shrimp scampi was over seasoned with garlic however the shrimp were cooked perfectly.
Pasta carbonara was over seasoned as well.
The atmosphere was very inviting and our waiter Jake was very good. Will return and hope the seasoning is more restrained. Almost 4 stars.
We’re very hopeful for this attractive restaurant but the meal disappointed. The roast chicken was very good, but the short ribs were dry and flavorless, the seafood pasta was over cooked, and the fried calamari in a honey sauce was inedible. The place is very loud so u can barely converse.
So our first visit was great, food and service were excellent. This time it was mediocre at best. I had bronzini with shrimp. The bronzini was flavorless and the shrimp were cold and most likely were frozen. My husband had the special gnocchi which was little nuggets of something that was not very good. The calamari appetizer was really great and so was our salads. Entrees are another story , not that good. Even dessert, peanut butter cheese cake was bad. It was so hard almost inedible. It was way too dense and taste was bland. Lastly it took forever to get our bill and pay so I would say this was not a good second visit, at all.
Wanted to try this place. To chilly for the outdoor dining when we went but inside was well appointed. Although quite noisy with conversation & loud overhead music, a corner table did well. The food was average. Limited menu. BYOB. Waiter staff was excellent. Worth a trip.
The food at Zinna's is very good. The antipasto is huge. It can feed more than 2 people with a variety of meats and cheeses. The fruiti di mare was good but needed a little more flavor. I had asked for it to be made spicy. The waitress said she would ask the chef if he could do it. I've never had a problem with a restaurant making this kind of dish spicy. In fact, I had it spicy there before. The dish had no spice and I needed some pepper flakes to give it zip. The chicken parm was very good. My wife asked the waitress if she could substitute penne for spaghetti. The waitress again said she would ask. Is this a problem? Never had a waitress not know. We do like Zinna's , but it may not be worth the half hour drive if we can't get what we want.
