Fifth time we’ve been there this year. Travel 45 minutes to get there and have brought several friends - two other couples tonight. Food is great - try the black garlic Mac & cheese - it’s awesome. At end of night asked for another Mac & cheese to go for our daughter at home and they refused - kitchen was closing. Just made really good customers very mad. On a Saturday night weren’t extremely busy - maybe that’s why - need to understand what keeps customers retuning and what makes them decide to find another place closer to home
Food was great, service was great and atmosphere is also great
Perfect for a quick business lunch - good service and lovely food
We were a large group (12) for a ladies birthday dinner. All meals came out together and everyone seemed to enjoy their food. The restaurant is a BYOB so that's a real plus. Definately a local gem.
This was our first time at Zinas Bistro and it was such a pleasant surprise! The ambiance had a very warm feel. Beautiful long tables for large groups. Though we didn’t sit outside it looked like a comfortable space for enjoying the nicer weather.
The food was very good. Though we only had two entree’s as we were keeping it light, the appetizers looked wonderful and good portions.
I had the Scallops Special which was absolutely wonderful! Large Scallops with Risotto and a Champagne sauce that was deliciously creamy and was absolutely perfect to make this dish one not to miss!
My wife had the Penne with Sausage and Meatballs . Though she enjoyed the dish she didn’t feel it was as good as what she thought it could be. (Probably because I make a killer pasta sauce that this dish was unable to match )
Overall, we had a lovely evening and will definitely be back with our friends ! Nice find !
OMG, what a find! Owner Chris, hands on operation!
Chef Jason, culinary specials beyond belief!
Waitstaff is so attentive: Jake, Nick, Morgan, Christi and all the rest, Visit 3-4 times a week! Don’t miss the Supper Club special events held monthly!
Best in the area
Always a great time. Great staff, food and of course, Chef Jason always makes you feel so welcome. A place not to be missed.
Chicken was undercooked and had to be sent back.
Not happy with new menu. You took away some of the dishes we love. Plus new items too expensive. Very disappointed
Service was a bit slow. Overall, food was fantastic. Beautifully plated.
The food and service were excellent . We will definitely return .
Food is generally very good here, but they don't have a knack for Filet Mignon. Tonight was the 2nd time I've ordered it and both times had to send it back as it was undercooked per my order. Also, meat was somewhat tough. Not worth paying $45+ for a steak that's supposed to melt in your mouth.
Manager came to apologize, but didn't give discount or take it off the bill.
Dessert was very good.
We went here for Sunday lunch for a birthday celebration. The food was very good and the server was very attentive.
New menu great food. Everyone in our party of 5 loved the apps and dinners could not be happier. Service was slow and waiter was hard to find most of the night.
Service was excellent, all around. A lot of families there and environment was lively.
The food was ok...homemade pasta was nice but the rest, just ok.
Had Calamari in their glazed sauce as an appetizer, it was so sweet and heavy it was more like a dessert. At $11 it was a waste since more than 3/4 of it couldn’t get eaten because it was so heavy.
We love this place! Have taken many friends there and they enjoyed it so much they brought other friends to enjoy it as well👍
First time ever; it was well visited by almost all neighborhood business worker. The service was a bit sloppy, spilling water on one setting, never replaces the setting (napkin-silver ware bread/butter plate) The food was just OK, nothing to write home about.
Third time we’ve been to Zinnas. Black garlic Mac and cheese is outstanding. Portion size / value great. Very nice menu. Will keep coming back
Enjoyed the food. Crab appetizer was excellent but a bit overpriced. I had the Pasta Vongole and the clams were very good. The pasta was lacking salt but once added it was very good. My wife ordered the Bronzini and it was nicely done. Atmosphere was nice and we will return.
Ma's gravy superb! Homemade pasta excellent, as well as the sauce. Salads very interesting and taste. Nothing blah about this place at all. Very much enjoyed quiet Sunday afternoon dinner.
Food was excellent, really enjoyed the pork chop. Ambiance is really nice, service however was par/subpar unfortunately. However the delicious food made up for at a good value.
Always the best!
We were there for a business dinner, on a Tuesday. Ambient noise was controlled (restaurant was not full) and the food and service were both very good. I have been to Zina's several times and always happy with the experience. It can get noisy on holidays when very full, but other times it's fine. Recommended.
We enjoyed our meal at Zinnas .The calamari was delicious and a sizeable portion to share. The short rib was yummy and so was the bronzini. We also enjoyed the apple crisp for dessert. Will definitely dine here again. We also had dinner here last summer and the outside dining area was charming and we look forward to sitting out there again. That evening we enjoyed the wings as an appetizer, and our meals were the salmon and the pork chop and both were awesome!
This is not our first trip to Zinna's. Food and service are always great. It's also a BYOB which is a plus. We have had a number of affairs here as well (baby showers, 90th bday party, etc.). Zinna's does an excellent job with accommodating a big group and doing a wonderful job with service and food. I would highly recommend Zinna's. We will definitely be back!
Great surprise all around. Outstanding food, service, ambience and Chef Jayson. We will definitely be back next time in the area.
Very friendly server and owner gave me
Birthday dessert free
great food, it was amazing and service was excellent
The food was excellent! The chef recommend risotto for a gluten free option over my frutti Di mare and it was delicious! The pork chops, Salmon and short ribs were fantastic ! We all enjoyed the beet carpachio salad and desert! The lemon cheesecake and carrot cake were super delicious!
Overall a great night out!!
Very nice menu. Excellent food, very tasty, and very good service.
Casual and Comfortable. We went for lunch - several good choices from standard to creative - something for everyone. The Mediterranean Salad was perfect - crispy greens and not overly dressed. The chicken panini was wonderful (I asked them to hold the avocado) - crispy focaccia, not greasy - took half home for dinner. The fries were delicious - well-done and nicely seasoned. The only drawback - the noise level - tough to carry on a conversation even though the room wasn't filled. But I'd still recommend and go back. Love to support independent restaurants!!
Been going here for years and never had a complaint. Food And service has always been excellent. We really love this place the pasta it amazing but tonight things weren’t as good as usual. Service was so slow and hard to get even though the restaurant wasn’t full as it usually is and the food was good but not great like it always has been. Will go back though, hopefully it was just a bad night.
This was a first visit here and a mid point for meeting up with friends. First, the bread was a poor quality, toasted ciabatta, not a crusty semolina quality bread. Eggplant rollatine was good, the best part of the meal. The Caesar salad was drenched in a bottled dressing and topped with that same ciabatta bread croutons. I did not try the soup special (cream of mushroom) but our friends said it was good. Bronzino entree at $26 was of poor quality, thin filet over some starch. It looked as bad as it tasted. The short rib "square block" of meat, at $26, did not fair any better. It was just dropped on the plate with a brown sauce and sat next to a ring mold of rice. Very unappealing presentation. The chicken Parmesan with spaghetti looked meh and tasted the same. My shellfish over spaghetti at $26 was just pitiful. The pasta was pre-cooked, not al dente, as I requested. You can tell it was sitting for a while, before it was reheated, because the shape of the spaghetti was distorted (with some random penne mixed in) and couldn't hold the non existent sauce. I had to request a side of marinara, that came out in a tiny ramekin. The shellfish (not an adequate ratio of fish to pasta) was also just okay, no flavor. Hot pepper seeds and grated cheese could not save this entree. The dessert and coffees were standard fair. In my opinion, the prices charged were not in line with the sub par quality of the food.
Exceptional food and service Look foward to dinning here again
We used to go to Zinna's almost every week. Great calamari, pretty good dinners, reasonable price . Cost was about $50 to$55 with tip plus our BYOB wine. They have changed and are killing themselves. Now offering breakfast with very few selections and no one eats there. New dinner menu is much higher priced and they are giving fancy names and high prices to ordinary dishes - Penne is actually spaghetti and meatballs for $22, Bucatini is actually carbonara for $19. If we were to ever go again, which is doubtful, our bill would be closer to $80 with tip plus our wine. That is too much for any weekly night out and the food is not good enough to justify this being a Ruth's Chris model.
We are very disappointed because we lost a fun night out with great calamari.
W chose the restaurant because of location to Cranbury. We had never eaten there. We were pleasantly surprised.
It is a bit difficult to see from Rte 130 but is tucked behind the Residence Inn.
Never had a bad meal at Zinnas. Always great and cooked to order. Great local gem spot v
Was very excited to finally try this place I asked if shrimp could be replaced with salmon otherwise keep as is. Chef said No. ok. Then I’ll have branzino. Please leave off scampi sauce. I can’t have the sauce due to allergies I’ll eat plain. Chef again said no we are too busy. What? ?? In today’s day and age that is ridiculous. Coffee was burnt and no bread was served. Completely disappointed
Friendly service that's not overbearing, and yummy pasta dishes. Good good, fair prices ... worth adding to my list of dependable places when I'm in the area!
To start, the waiter was excellent. He was attentive but gave us the time we needed. Our party of six shared two appetizers, risotto balls and meatballs, that were very flavorful but we’re not hot. All of the entrees were excellent, and hot! The menu was creative and reasonably priced. I would definitely go back.
