Zinfandel Grille - Sacramento Ratings and Reviews
We went to Zinfandel Grille on Feb. 15th to belatedly celebrate Valentine's Day, because of a conflict on the actual day. Very satisfied with our choice. Relaxing and romantic. Easy parking and good service, and food was excellent. Ambience and value were reasonable for a fine dining establishment. Recommend reservations, as restaurant was crowded.
The tables were squished tightly together. Any time our waiter visited another table his butt was right on our food. We could hear every conversation. This was our second time giving this restaurant a try because the first time was horrid. Third time may not always be a charm I guess because we arent going back.
Reservation on time seating. Appetizer forgotten til entrees served. option of cancelling appetizer not offered. Food reliable and good. Wait staff removed some plates & drink glasses without asking if it was alright/finished with; reached across in front of person to guest across the table; need instruction in table service.
Had a very enjoyable dinner on last Saturday night. Service and food were awesome. I typically dine here for lunch as it is close to my work, but it is sufficiently compelling for me to make the trek from Shingle Springs for dinner with my wife. Our server was incredibly efficient while being very polite and courteous.
The only detraction is that for the second time in a row the restaurant indicated to OpenTable that I was a no-show for my reservation. I called the restaurant both times to clear it up, and was a bit surprised on Saturday when the female employee who answered my call blamed the error on the fact that we had been greeted and seated by a male colleague! Hmmm.
We always enjoy the food, drinks and service but really can not understand how loud the "front" dining section is and wonder if the acoustics are just really awful in that part of the restaurant. The side is just a whole lot quieter so if you want to enjoy conversation then do not sit in front of the bar!
LOVE THE LOCATION AND THE RESTAURANT FRIENDLY STAFF. I HAVE ENJOYED IT WITH FRIENDS OR FAMILY, ALWAYS GETTING GOOD SERVICE AND THE FOOD IS EXCELLENT.
WILL CONTINUE TO PATRONIZE IT AND RECOMMEND IT TO MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY.
Server seemed new. I hadn't seen her before. We had to wait for coffee and had to ask others for refills. Did not come over to check how our food was until we were almost finished. Don't mean to be trivial, but she seemed a little overwhelmed. If she is new she might need a little more support-- she should follow Cynthia around. She is one of the best servers in any restaurant.
We were at Zinfandel Grille for a special occasion lunch celebration for my friend. It had been some time since our last get together, and our server was so friendly and understanding, didn't hurry us along to place our order, let us enjoy our glass of wine and catching up with each other. He was very attentive when needed, took and served our food as ordered. Zinfandel's food offerings never disappoint, from the tried and true, that we must order nearly every time we visit, to the new additions to the menu. We had a perfectly delightful experience and enjoyed delicious food! - Jan Mathews
The service was great, the salad didn't feel worth the price. The large z cobb salad was standard; was light on toppings and I also had to ask for extra dressing. I also got a cup of the clam chowder, which was delicious. My colleague got the shrimp fettucine, which she said she really liked. All dishes took awhile to be served and lunch went a little long. Our server was the best part of the experience. Very attentive and extremely polite. I would still go back, but likely try something else next time.
First visit: Service was just right - courteous, attentive, and knowledgeable(thank you Phil). Our meal was delectable! Flavors were spot on, seasoned perfectly, and portions were proportionate to prices. Pesto risotto, pasta, and pork chop plates had depth and inspiration in every bite. It is clear to see that the Zinfandel Grille will remain a Sacramento gem. We will happily return for more!
