Zinfandel Grille - Sacramento Ratings and Reviews
The service was great, the salad didn't feel worth the price. The large z cobb salad was standard; was light on toppings and I also had to ask for extra dressing. I also got a cup of the clam chowder, which was delicious. My colleague got the shrimp fettucine, which she said she really liked. All dishes took awhile to be served and lunch went a little long. Our server was the best part of the experience. Very attentive and extremely polite. I would still go back, but likely try something else next time.
First visit: Service was just right - courteous, attentive, and knowledgeable(thank you Phil). Our meal was delectable! Flavors were spot on, seasoned perfectly, and portions were proportionate to prices. Pesto risotto, pasta, and pork chop plates had depth and inspiration in every bite. It is clear to see that the Zinfandel Grille will remain a Sacramento gem. We will happily return for more!
My wife and I enjoy Zinfandel on occasion and its always good so decided to come for New Years Eve. The night started with our waiter telling us the cook was in a bad mood and wouldn't do any changes to the menu.
The service is always good, nice atmosphere but the New Years Eve dishes were not up to par. My wife's filet steak was too salty below average cut of beef and au gratin potatoes that were undercooked and didn't taste good. I had the chicken which the plate came all one color and was just OK. The chicken tasted decent but the rest was bland.
Zinfandel can do much better.
We had a great meal Christmas Eve. I had lamb and my wife had scallops. Everything was cooked to perfection. The sides were great, including the Poke appetizer. Desert was a chocolate lava cake. Our server was in a festive mood, visiting a bit, answering questions with knowledge, and generally helping to make this an enjoyable evening. We will go again soon.
The best part of Zinfandel Grille is the staff. Everyone was very friendly and efficient. Next best was the wine list. Very nice wines at reasonable prices. It goes downhill from there. Our waitress was opening our bottle of wine just as the entree arrived - oops. We ordered the prime rib. It was tough and overdone. It was also covered with a very rich demi glaze that was thick. It totally ocer powered the meat and was too salty. How do you mess up prime rib? Not returning here in the future.
The staff was courteous and friendly but I do not like to be rushed. Our entree plates were set down as the salad plates were removed. No time to take a breath, let alone decide if I wanted another glass of wine. As it was Christmas Eve I attributed the rush to the staff wanting to get home which I understood.
We had our office Christmas dinner here and the service was great. We didn't feel rushed to finish, and they accommodated the 3 year old that was with us without a problem. Food was good and prompt. Overall we had a great time!
Four friends and I met while our husbands got together with a larger group elsewhere. Another nearby location was suggested, but I had been there previously and there were absolutely no substitutions. So, I chose this restaurant. Our waiter was terrific, as were the support staff. We were able to do a bit of substitutions for dietary issues. The noise level was high because there was a large group nearby, but once they left, it was perfect. Our food was delicious, and the service was terrific! We will be back!
This was my first time at Zinfandel Grille. I arranged a Christmas lunch for my boss and his immediate supervisors. We got seated right away. Everyone was pleasant and the food was wonderful. Service was great! In fact, they want me to book here every year!! That says it all.
Front of the house seating is bright and good for people watching. Winter weather treats included braised beef short ribs and hearty house made pasta with delicious, robust meat sauce in just the right quantity. I appreciate quality food vs. large volume since I'm not one for leftovers. Service was professional. Corkage was fair by restaurants standards. My wife and I will return soon and can recommend 'ZG' to others.
We always enjoy our dining experience at Zinfandel Grille. The food is excellent and the service always friendly. I recommend Zinfandel Grille to friends and family all the time. They do a brisk business so we always make advance reservations. Daytime parking can be tricky but they do offer free valet parking during peak hours which is a nice touch. Zindandell Grille is one of our favorite dining locations.
