Zinfandel Grille - Sacramento

Food and service were great. It was just cold at our spot. Maybe we were just near th e door or a vent. But I would recommend this restauran
They have delicious food and superb creme brulee! We have been patrons of this place for several years and they never disappoint.
Not every dish is a winner. The lamb chops yes, the cannelloni no. The mushroom salad yes. The bananas foster yes. The service from Joseph Kennedy was amazing. Maybe the best waiter in Sacramento. Every table he had loved him. However, putting tables next to very large parties (~20) is not a good idea. Large parties should be separated somehow from regular diners. It gets too loud and takes away from the dining experience. Separating everyone, even with some kind of divider is preferable. This is a neighborhood gem, as you can tell based of the influx of regulars.
Great food, great service, not much parking during lunch time. Worth it!
The food is solidly good throughout the meal. However the portions are small and pricey. The service was great, and there was no problem accepting the open table coupon. Pleasant place to have a nice meal during the week. I would have liked something more specular for the price.
Always great food and service
Outstanding as always. Very good service, food is interesting, fresh and seasonal, and we like the atmosphere. :-)
Excellent! Great service and food. Just a little noisy.
The daily seafood pasta special was great. Server was inattentive, forgot to put in order correctly, forgot utensils. Very unusual though.
My husband and I really enjoy a night out at Zinfandel Grille! This past Monday we met friends there who we hadn't seen in quite some time. Sadly, I was sick and couldn't go, but I got reports after. My husband said it was wonderful as always. He had the braised short ribs and really enjoyed them. Our guests were very happy with their selections as well.
My family had a great time dining at Zinfandel grill ! We all love our food & people are nice !
One of my favorite's. Varied menu, impeccable service (Thank you Clarissa!) and consistency.
The food, as usual, was well prepared and presented. And the service, as usual, was attentive, polite and professional. The only negative was the cut of meat selected for the "Kobe Steak". I did not expect skirt steak, which has a weird texture and can be (and was this time) somewhat tough. Next time, will probably revert to a pasta-based lunch.
Noise level makes conversations difficult. Service is good and food tasty, but prices is high for portion size.
Wonderful food and service and the other patrons were well behaved
Expensive and really not great food overall.

ZG is one of my favorite restaurants. You can always count on good food, nice ambiance and good service. We always ask for Joe as our server. He is the best.
Zinfandel Grill made our gender reveal so incredibly special! They were as excited for us as we were. The food and service was incredible. And the manager surprised us by taking care of the check. We are very grateful for such a beautiful evening.
New Years Eve dinner. The menu was abbreviated and the prices for meals higher than usual (to be expected on New Years Eve). Cocktails were $14. Corkage was $15. We were seated promptly and the service was stellar, as always. We have eaten here many times but tonite, maybe due to New Years Eve, the food was mediocre at best. My angel hair pasta with 3 shrimp, a small, elusive bit of crab and two scallops ($42) was bland. One table mates had the same and his wife had salmon. She mentioned it was moist, maybe undercooked, and she didn’t tolerate it well about 3 hours later. My wife had a steak ($50...we thought overpriced) that was ordered medium but came medium rare. The desserts were good but the meal just wasn’t a WOW for a special New Years Eve dinner where there were only about 6 choices for dinner. We would go back, but not on a holiday...and we will order the food cooked a little longer to insure doneness. We were disappointed due to the good food we have had here in the past. Maybe they were trying to turn tables over quickly to accommodate more diners while charging higher prices to increase profit margins and ignoring the food quality and preparation.
Thank you for dining with us and sharing your experience. We're disappointed that we didn't succeed in giving you a 5-star experience that we strive so much for. However, we really appreciate your feedback as it shows us how we can improve our restaurant and our guest experience especially on Holidays. I will pass on your feedback about the food to our team of chefs and managers to work towards making sure a similar situation doesn't happen again. Allen Kou
New Year’s Eve
Just a nice get together with friends.
Great ambiance, food & wine selection. Would highly recommend.
Zinfandel Grille is one of our most favorite restaurants. The food, service and atmosphere is consistently top notch.
Love Zinfandel Grille! Greatest menu in town!
Why was the lighting so bright for a late dinner on Christmas Eve.? I felt like I was eating in a cafeteria. No music or any kind of ambiance in the restaurant. I feel like menu prices on the menu indicate it should have some kind of coziness.
As always, the food and service were outstanding!
Only disappointment was that some of the specials and a regular menu item were not available.
However, our reservations were late that evening so it was understandable!!
Leo was our Server and he was outstanding. I have allergy issues and the Chef customized a menu item for me which and it was delicious. We had out of country guests and they were impressed just as we were. Thanks for making our dinner special.
Really enjoyed our dinner. The fruit crisp could of been better. Would order something else next time.
Been here many times always consistently good food and service. Will keep coming back.
My all time favorite place to have dinner in Sacramento.
We love this restaurant. Cynthia is the best server. Always gracious and food and drinks are awesome.
Based on the Specials & Regular menu the Food was Amazing as always. We were all happy with our choices for our Entrees as well as our choice of Salads. No complaints with any of our meals. Noise levels at times was loud and had to raise our voices to be heard with each other as well as the server. The service was rather slow at times and had to ask anyone that walked by to help us. Not sure where he was most of the time. Perhaps not enough servers on board to accommodate the amount of customers. Overall all of us will be back again due to the Amazing Dinners.
This is a nice place for lunch or dinner. Nice staff, the food quality is very good.
Pre Christmas family luncheon- had wanted more holiday decor - nothing! Very disappointing. Food good but soup not hot .
Very good food.
Crab cakes are a yummy appetizer.
My pasta was overcooked and was one big clump. I returned it and when they brought the new dish, the pasta was swimming in sauce. Their comment was they added more sauce so it wouldn't bunch together. It was terrible.
I would like to extend to you my most sincere apologies regarding your pasta yesterday evening. We have a high standard of food quality and your dinner should not have been an exception. However, I greatly appreciate your feedback as we are always striving to improve our restaurant and guest experience. I will pass on your feedback to our chefs and management team so that we can work towards ensuring it doesn't happen again. If there is anything else please don't hesitate to reach out. Allen
I was there to celebrate my birthday with friends and the server ignored us, took forever bringing us the food and we ended up missing a comedy show we had tickets for because the service was so slow and dinner took forever (3 hours!). It got to the point where one of us had to constantly flag her down or go looking for her to get anything. We brought a birthday cake and the server offered to cut it for us and didn’t tell us about the $2/person cake cutting fee and when the server brought it out she just plopped it down in front of me and walked away, no singing, nothing. I’ve been coming to this place for years and I typically love the food and the service has always been good, but our server last night was terrible! She was clearly more interested in serving the parties that were drinking lots of alcohol and running up a larger bill (meaning larger tip for her) and chose to ignore everyone else, which included our group of 5. The poor service ruined my special occasion and I am very disappointed.

The restuarant was packed with parties and Holiday shoppers. Glad I made reservations, but it still was 20 minutes before being seated, which was okay considering the crowd. The meal was delicious and the service great.
I am celiac and my waiter was not that knowledgeable but he got another waiter who is. My meal was excellent and no problems!
