Zinc was able to accommodate a last minute reservation on a Saturday night. Service was excellent and the food and drinks were great. Half price martinis made for a great night!
My sister and I brought my mom here on a Sunday morning (December 31st) for her birthday. We had made a reservation, but that appears to be unnecessary as we were the only people in the restaurant. The food was amazing. I was the only one who got the three course brunch; the cheese plate appetizer was big enough to share and I'm glad I was able to. Despite being the only table in the place, the service was mediocre, we had to flag down the waiter a couple of times and two of us got our meals way before the last one came out.
We enjoyed a Saturday Brunch at Zinc. It is located close to the Winspear where we were going to attend at concert. The menu was creative and the food tasted great. The service was good and it was pleasant to to be able to carry on a conversation without shouting.
Mushroom soup was dull and tasted little of mushrooms. Salad was comprised of butter lettuce with dried cranberries and dried apricots in an under-seasoned vinaigrette. Overall, dull, uninteresting food. Wine and service were good.
Chef Omar outdid himself yet again with a wonderful tasting menu: 6 courses plus an amuse bouche and a sorbet, featuring duck, pork belly, tenderloin, salmon pyrogies and golden beets. Service was superb with Fadi paying close attention to our needs. Always a wonderful evening!
As always, everything is fantastic. Merry Christmas everyone!!!
Stunning setting, good food nicely prepared and presented, excellent service.
Probably the 6th time I've eaten here this year, food is always enjoyable, views onto Churchill Square and City Hall fantastic, don't need to visit the spectacular Art Gallery to dine here tho one should!
Service has always been hit and miss, even when room is empty. Still, a good choice downtown that many still don't think about, particularly on Sundays for their set brunch menu. Benedicts are excellent, especially the salmon or short rib. Coffee is hot, desserts seasonal n tasty, price is decent.
When we arrived we told the waitress we had tickets to the show. After we got our wine, she disappeared. After 30 minutes, we finally had to flag someone else down. No time for appetizers or dessert. Kinda of glad because the main dishes we did order were just average and not worth the price. They did comp the wine for the slow service.
Appreciated that they found a gluten free dessert option for me.
High end price point - especially $7 for sparkling water when still water wasn't offered as a free alternative!! Two bottles of water cost as much as an appetizer!
Lovely night scape from our window seats but it was also cool by the window wall. Would be perfect as long as you wear a warm outfit.
