This second restaurant of Olivier Desaintmartin, ZINC is no less than a replica of a “le Marais” style bar restaurant, artists most preferred section of Paris. Le Marais is also the oldest part of the French capital.

Desaintmartin bought a 1919 zinc bar from a Parisian bar, refinished it, and shipped it to this quaint 40 seats bar/restaurant.

Acclaimed for its food, romance and its specialty drinks, Zinc becomes a hang out for locals, a meeting place. You can share a charcuterie or a fromage plate with a glass of Chinon, or sit at the bar sipping a French aperitif waiting for your party, or enjoy some oysters with a Muscadet.

The bistro menu is the same for brunch and dinner so at any time of the day you may choose to order eggs Benedict or steak frites or even just an apple tart with a “coupe “ of Blanquette de Limoux (sparkling wine).

Over priced. Food was not memorable. Started off bad from the beginning. We got there a few minutes before they opened. It was cold. They saw us, but would not let us in. We had to walk back to our car and sit there. I wanted to leave. My wife stopped me, but after the meal agreed that we should have left.

How can you rate a restaurant that has closed. You canceled my reservation without explanation. I left a reservation on the restaurant answering service only to find the restaurant closed for business when I showed up. You owe me for that one.

Zinc is closed. Took my reservation and then closed before I dined. Not sure why I keep getting emails to rate my experience since the Yelp app says the restaurant is no affiliated with Yelp. I'm reviewing just to make the emails stop.

I've never had a bad meal at Zinc. Always friendly service. This last visit was the same. Three of us who wanted to engage in quiet conversation. Tasty, filling entres and one salad. Two salmon and green lentils and one chicken entre. Excellent wine, which was recommended when I asked and gave our taste parameters. We will be back.

Went to Zinc for a pre-Walnut St theater meal. Staff was very conscious of our time limits. Charcuterie was very good. Room was almost empty at 5:30 on a Thursday, but hopefully filled later. Meal was delicious.

What a gem. A small, very Parisian atmosphere. Elegant but unpretentious. Our server was lovely and very helpful. Food was excellent - Octopus, country pate, fish of the day and vegetarian pasta all were winners. Small but nice selection of French wines. Romantic atmosphere. We will definitely go back
