We have been visiting this place on every visit to Scottsdale the last few years. Overall, it has always been a wonderful experience! In fact, we make it a point to eat here.
This time around, however, our server was atrocious! This ruined our experience even though the food was good as ever. The server’s attitude was bad and his disdain was evident. He gave my 9 year old the “silent” treatment. She asked him twice for crayons. He did not acknowledge he heard and then proceeded to drop the crayons and leave without saying a word!
We did not say any thing that would deserve such a treatment.
We believe that our credit card was subject to a fraud attempt at this restaurant. The server took our card to the back and then came back after a few minutes and told us our card was declined. We were quite surprised! There was a terminal right close to us and he chose not to use it. Also, for some reason, he waved his colleague over, while she was wiping glasses at the bar, and asked her to accompany him to the back before he returned to our table with the bad news.
We called our bank and inquired why the card was declined. They said that the fraud department noticed that the card was swiped 3 times even though it had a chip. This is due to someone trying to copy the card. Hmmm! Not what one would expect from a reputable restaurant.
We urge the management to deal with the issue of the bad service and also investigate why the cards are being taken to the kitchen to be charged. The payment terminals should be in a public area. We know how many credit cards get compromised by being copied at restaurants especially.
My family and I would love to return to this restaurant but not unless the the management takes steps to reassure us that we will not be subject to the same treatment and that their payment process will be fixed.
Excellent food and service,
Looking forward to going back.
Onion soup was terrific as well as all the food.
Nice wine selection too.
Five of us had Sunday lunch, which included brunch items. Every entree was well prepared and their bread was excellent. Great food and great service in a very unpretentious manner.
Excellent food with a menu of French cuisine with some modern interpretation. The duck was great - not described as a take on cassoulet but similar and delicious. Two top tables are very tight and restaurant was very busy. Service was slow and not entirely attentive but when we went, their computer system was down causing much angst in the servers. Would recommend.
Had a glass of champagne, the foie gras appetizer and French onion soup! All amazing and service was very warm and pleasant. Thank you. I wasn’t in the mood to go home (yet) after a long day at work, so it was nice to have this as an option.
The dinner was excellent. A bit crowded but that was expected. Service was perfect. My wife and I got engaged at Zinc so we came back for Valentine's day. Thanks Guys.
Zinc Bistro has always been a favorite. In all the years I've been eating here, I've NEVER had a bad meal. It's always pure perfection!
My wife and I frequent this restaurant quite a bit.
We thought it would be nice to spend Valentine’s Day there.
We check the website to make sure it was NOT a fix menu and it did not indicate it was, however when we got there it was in fact fixed. We would have not gone if we had known. Being as it was late and we were hungry we decided to ride it out. One of our favorite dishes The hanger steak was on the menu( which we order almost every time we are there) so we figured we would be set.
That being said the item we normally order was inflated pricing which was a bit of a insult, considering we know what the pricing is normally. And we couldn’t get around it because it was a fixed menu. Paying more than normal because of a date on a calendar I believe is rather insulting to regulars.
Out of the gate the service which is usually on point was lagging, but busy night we get that.
Food shows up and it’s missing elements that it normally Has on it, and isn’t nearly as good because of that. It clearly was rushed and quality slipped Thru the cracks.
So not only did we pay more for our normal order but received a SUB PAR product.
We left feeling underwhelmed and ripped off. I would have taken my $300 dollars somewhere else. Or just waited a day later.
One of the best French Restaurants in Scottsdale/Phoenix. Most authentic.
Although it was a cool, rainy and crowded lunchtime on Valentine’s Day, Zinc Bistro was up to par.
Our drinks were perfect and the truffle fries hit the spot. The entrees of flat iron steak salad and scallops bouillabaisse were
excellent. Service, as usual, attentive and knowledgeable.
