Our chefs have painstakingly created a menu of wine-friendly fare consisting of old world hors d'oeuvres and regionally inspired tapas. From baked Texas goat cheese with kalamata olives to fresh chocolate covered strawberries, the menu caters to the diversity of the food enthusiasts.
Charles Court, at the rear of Zinc, is a truly serene gathering place for a rare outdoor experience. The private, spacious courtyard makes for a quiet sanctuary from the clatter of downtown city streets and the Riverwalk.

Our server was phenomenal. I wish I could remember his name. My friend's pizza was delicious. The hen wings were not good to me. The guacamole was pretty good. It was missing the heat I'm accoustomed to having.

This place was mediocre at best. Our waitress disappeared for about 30 minutes near the end of our meal, and we had to go physically find her because no one else came near our table. The food was bland and dry, outside of the okay calamari.

Fantastic find! We went because a waiter at another restaurant recommended it. The food is amazing and very well priced. Get the guacamole prepared table side as it is unlike others you’ve had and so great. The zinc burger and short rib sandwich were so good we had to finish it even though we were stuffed.

Slow service and noise level was so loud we could barely hear ourselves. Crab cakes were disappointing. Dessert was the highlight!

Everything tasted fresh! We ordered a ceasar salad, margharita pizza, ham & cheese melted sandwich and the chocolate molten cake. Just wish the chocolate molten cake was bigger!

We dined on a Friday night and everything was amazing. The hummus is to die for!!!! Salads were amazing. I had the pizza and my husband had fish and chips and all were great. The wine was also delicious. Prices are unbelievably low. Zinc is a great spot for a night out.

Great food and service! We enjoyed our time at Zinc. The soup, salad and burger were all to our liking. Our dessert of watermelon and passion fruit gelato was so refreshing on these hot San Antonio nights! The noise level was high in the dining area.

I love this restaurant. Great food and great service. My only complaint is the main dining area: very noisy, and kind of spoil the nice atmosphere. Stay at the bar or outdoor instead.

Three of us enjoyed a warm, but pleasant evening on the patio at Zinc. The light breeze made the 90+ temp okay. Service was very good, not rushed and just enough attentive. We really liked our pizzas: one sausage and onion, one pepperoni. Definitely come again the next time we are in SA.

My wife and I visited San Antonio from Chicago, for our wedding anniversary weekend. We worked during our actual anniversary so this was our first chance to celebrate it. We found Zinc and decided on it after talking to a friend (who’s local) about places to try. We arrived pretty late... about 10 mins before the kitchen closed. As a result we felt a little rushed and ordered far more food than we normally would have, but in the end it was all worth it! The food was fantastic! We had the steak, which was cooked perfectly (super juicy and tender), and also enjoyed the calamari and the hummus and the Caesar salad. I got the burger, which was fantastic, and the sweet potato fries (which I normally hate) were amazing! Best I’ve ever had! We enjoyed a nice bottle of wine with dinner and our server gave us champagne to celebrate our occasion! A perfect meal!!! Can’t wait to visit again!!!

Calamari was rubbery and not much flavor. Caesar salad was good tho small. Cocktails were tasty but not much alcohol. Fish and chips were average as were crab cakes. All in all, wish we had gone elsewhere. It was fine but for a rare date night, wasn’t that special

Our server left us high and dry after our appetizer. It was a little degrading as my fiancé and I were celebrating our 3 year anniversary. We were so excited to create our 1st date, but the service really made our experience a negative one.

Food was excellent! Hostess tried to seat us outside when I had booked a high top table. This was corrected after I mentioned it to the hostess seating us. Service was pretty good. Odd being right by the door which did lower the ambiance score. Overall great and I will go back but will request a regular table and still inside when the temp is 100 outside.

Everything was excellent! I would definitely eat there again. The molten chocolate cake left something to be desired, but everything else from the artichoke dip, salad, and salmon (the night’s special) were delectable. It can get a little noisy sitting at the high boy tables because the staff congregates and busses dishes by the bar/high boys. But it wasn’t annoying. Just something to keep in mind depending on what kind of party you are dining with.

I had one of their pizzas and it was pretty tasty. I also had the molten lava cake that was pretty good too. I went in the afternoon so it was empty and quiet. Overall, an okay place to check out if you’re in the area. Thank you.

I would have given much higher scores, however, the hard rock/head banging music played at a very high level kind of ruined the experience. When we mentioned it to the waitress her response was "that's funny." Otherwise, Zinc was outstanding and I would highly recommend it.

I have been to Zinc serveral times and in the past have really enjoyed myself. During these previous visits we were in the courtyard. We normally have sharable plates and drinks. Our recent visit was to celebrate my daughter's 26th birthday. We dined inside. The food was very good, but the service was subpar. Our waitress did not check on us and we felt ignored. It was as if we were being rushed. She cleared my plate while my wife was still eatting. We ordered a second drink for my daughter which she never served as she "forgot" to place the bar order. My son-in-law had to get up and go find someone to find our waitress. Tables around us were being served and thier wait staff was attentive, while we ignored. We planned to stay an spend much twice our meal bill on drinks. Due to the poor service we went to another establishment and spent that amount celebrating my daughter's birthday.

Food was good like always but they had an off night. My steak wasn't prepared right and by the time it arrived at the table everyone else had finished their meal. Then one dessert was forgotten so everyone was done with dessert by the time it arrived. I realize these things happen so we will be back.

This was our second trip to SAT in the last year and as usual we return to Zinc Bistro and Wine Bar for our evening meals. The staff is very helpful in wine selections and even allow you to taste the open bottles to ensure one likes it. The food always prepared as requested and hot. Crab cakes are out of this world as are the hamburgers and steak entrees. All good. Try it - you'll like it.

Wonderful find downtown off the touristy river walk. The kitchen definitely turns out quality food at the correct portion size. The wine by the glass selection was extensive and great value. We came on Monday and immediately made a reservation to come back on Wednesday!

Great service from Layla and we really liked the relaxed atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant. The food was variable. We shared the crabcakes as a starter. They were very thin and had a fishy odor and I think the portion would have been a bit small for an entree choice (much more suitable as an appetizer). My in-laws enjoyed their entrees (shrimp churrascos and fish & chips). My husband had the famed Zinc burger and it was unevenly cooked (medium rare as requested in some spots and overcooked/charred in others). I ordered the portobello mushroom melt and everything on the plate (the mushroom, spinach and asparagus) lacked seasoning and flavor and the sweet potato fries were room temparature. The biggest disappointment were the desserts. The molten chocolate caked lacked any oozing "lava" when cut into (it had hardened on the inside), the apple souffle bread pudding was dry and there were only a scant amount of apples at the very bottome of the ramekin but the accompanying ice cream was very good. The pumpkin creme brulee was the biggest let down. It was not at all "set", rather, literally a liquid cream (more like a creme anglaise but even too runny for that title...sweet pumpkin soup, perhaps?) and really inedible. The manager was kind enough to remove this from our bill. I'm not sure if we'll return but we have heard really good feedback about other menu items so perhaps we just dined on an off day for the kitchen. The prices and atmosphere make Zinc a good choice for a respite from the other touristy Riverwalk restaurants, especially for their weekday Happy Hour.
