Our waiter, Frankie, was super fantastic! Extremely helpful, knowledgeable, & enthusiastic. He suggested the special, which was a tomahawk steak for two. Problem here is I like my steak rare to medium-rare. Frankie sold my wife on the idea of medium rare “plus”. She loved it! The General Manager, Kat, came by and checked on the meal, etc. The four of us loved the place. My wife & I liked it so much we came back for lunch the next day. We sat outside & Myra was our waitress. Another great waiter. The GM, Kat, saw we were back and gave us a glass of delicious Champagne!
We can’t recommend Zinc strongly enough. By the way, get the Duck Confit sandwich for lunch!
We will be back when we are back in Scottsdale!
It was a Friday night, very noisy and we were seated in a very busy area, seeing the kitchen, service area and all the wait staff walking past and people going to the bathrooms! Not a relaxing evening at all, we asked to sit outside and told that there was nothing left as it was all booked - when we booked we were not given the option for asking for an outside table, which would have been so much more pleasant.
We've been here several times and it's always a great meal. I think they're very reliable this way. We shared the Chateaubriand which was fantastic. We had the truffle fries and haricot verts and both were terrific. Truly a great meal.
Food was excellent and our waiter knew how to describe what was on the menu that we were asking about. He was there when we needed him but didn’t hover. A really nice feature in a good waiter
We loved the flat iron steak avec frites
Le vin blanc n’était pas fameux
J’adore ce resto
We like Zinc’s but Saturday at 5 minutes to 6 pm,I received a call saying our 6:30 PM reservation was. Cancelled....😮It was tough finding a replacement place for our guests and us👎🏼I Am surprised that Zincs haven’t called and offered some sort of gift card ....apologizing for the inconvience
The reason given was a broken waterline.
Had a reservation came there for a nice meal with another couple for my wife’s birthday. They told us they had problems and we could only get cold food. Ruined our whole evening since it was Saturday night and we couldn’t get another reservation. They did not even give us the courtesy of a phone call earlier in the day so we would have had time to make a reservation at another restaurant. Horrible
Totally coolest, magnificent gem in a heart of scottsdale, every dish on a menu will satisfy the most particularly delicate taste for food, our favorite spot for any occasion!
We loved the Onion Soup, Chateaubriand for 2 and the Zinc souffle. Our server was terrific.
Such a great 'date night'. Thank you to Glenn B (table #7 on 4/13/18 at 9:32pm) for making it a great evening! See you again soon!
Wonderful experience! Many thanks!
Food not as good as normally service was not good disappointed
Always good service. Consistently good food.
Good food but surprisingly not as good as the smaller and less ambitions Chez Vous on Scottsdale Road. Zinc is what it's always been - legitimate French food in a place that does not have much of that but over-priced.
We came for Easter dinner and had a fabulous meal. Our server, J.R., was fun and conversational and offered great insights on everything from wine to dessert. We split a house salad (good call), each had steak (my husband had the pepper sauce, I had the red wine reduction, both were outstanding) and finished by sharing the beignets, which came with blackberry and caramel sauces and fresh whipped cream (so good!)
We were seated on a hidden garden veranda toward the back of the restaurant and the ambience was really nice. I would definitely request seating out there while the weather is still cooler. Overall, we had a relaxed, enjoyable evening and a memorable meal.
It was Easter and maybe they were short handed so service was slow Food came before the drinks and drinks were ordered early. Salad was dry and maybe was sitting out a long time before served which is never really the case at Zinc.
Great Restaurant we sat on the front terrace. We had great food, service and setting.
Every time we visit Arizona we make appoint of going there for a meal. It is great.
We have been multiple times and all times have been positive and nice experiences. In our last dinner, service was very slow and inattentive, water empty a couple of times, and just non engaging...additionally the steak was a horrible piece (very tough and too much fat for a NY). Waiter never asked about the steak, so I didn’t complain, but for $40, I truly felt ripped off. Not sure I will go back, even after going 4x in the past.
Zinc Bistro is always a favorite. The crab crepe is a must to share. Filet and salmon served perfectly. Great atmosphere, great for a dinner for two or group. The garden room is a favorite or one of the cozy booths. The cream brûlée is outstanding but all of the desserts are great.
We had a great time talking and catching up. Waiter was excellent and good was good. Nice setting.,.
we had a wonderful night at Zinc Bistro. Excellent menu options for both food and drink with great customer service made for a great night!
Amazing! Ask to sit outside in courtyard!
We went to Zinc twice to enjoy excellent French cuisine. The first time, I ordered a cheese place and was asked to select three cheeses. I was then told that they did not have one of the cheeses! My wife ordered an onion soup. It was poor because it was too oily and too buttery. She could not eat it.
In spite of this we tried Zinc a second time. The steak my wife ordered was not described as a pepper steak. It was served so salted and so peppered neither my wife or I could eat it. We left 80% of the steak uneaten. We were not brave enough to order any other food or dessert and left.
We would not recommend Zinc, a french restaurant, for eating classic French food.
Enjoyed the evening with friends. Service could have been better.
Had great service. I think named joe. Told us everything we needed. Steak great, desert staff, martinis. Really enjoyed even if cost a bit, but hey it’s French .
Very nice atmosphere in courtyard. Other dining areas were very loud next to the bar. Will always request courtyard. Food was very good.
Phenomenal meal, as always. The French Onion Soup is the best I've ever had and it is always consistently excellent. I usually get a pesto chicken sandwich or a burger and they are first rate. The meal was great, the ambience exceptional. It is not inexpensive, but then show me a French restaurant that is.
Surprisingly busy for early Sunday dinner. Be warned that two top table is particularly small and best for a snack or app, not a full dinner and drinks. Service was attentive but not obtrusive. Bistro banquette seating can be noisy since other guests are so close. Chicken and dumpling consume, $16, was not a success with doughy dumplings, and not enough of the tasty consume. The filet and frites, $40, were perfect and the diver scallops, $42, also very well executed. It would be an excellent surf & turf offering. No mention made by staff of special occasion despite reservation notice.
We had a wonderful evening enjoying the good food, kind staff, and excellent service. My only complaint was a family who's two girls played in the fountain that adjoined our table and the staff did not ask them to return to their table in the other section of the restaurant.
Warm attentive service with really good food. The team works together from host, to servers, to busers to ensure guest are well taken care of. It is noisy so if you are looking for an intimate conversation ask to be seated side by side.
first rate alll around a delight and apleasire
Noise level was too loud for conversation but otherwise a wonderful restaurant
that we visit each year during our stay in Scottsdale.
Wonderful experience, brought back memories of the last time we were there more than 15 years ago.
We enjoyed our visit to Zinc for a parents night out. Met another couple for an enjoyable evening. My french 75 cocktail was good and the special of the leg of lamb was great. It was not an inexpensive meal but I will enjoy returning here in the future.
Excellent food. Great waiter but courses came out a little too fast. Lovely ambience.
Our server was Nick, great attitude, high knowledge about his products and a pleasure to have served us. The food was ok, swordfish was subpar but if it was not for Nick, it would have been a fail!
We ate outside at lunch and it was wonderful. We had the chicken curry sandwich and of course the wonderful frites. Our server was very friendly and helpful. This is one of my favorite spots and is does not disappoint.
Unfortunately I had gluten in one of my meal options. I had the skirt steak and the zinc scalloped potatoes— the latter fish I was told were gluten free but feel that is where the gluten was. I am apprehensive about eating at Zinc Bistro in the future. Celiacs have to place trust in their server, and I feel our server gave mis- information. I was sick all night and the next day.
