Our first time here. Food was amazing and the service was great. The ambience was very different from what I expected, however. It was extremely noisy in the restaurant, with surprisingly modern music playing. Not a huge deal for us, it made the experience a little more casual.
Good experience! Very accommodating as well! Going again soo!
Four of us dined tonight for a celebration. We ordered scallops (B+), rack of lamb (C), mussels (A) and flat Iron Steak (B) with salads (A). We have all eaten here several times and everyone likes the restaurant except one of us who feels that the food is not worth the price. Ambiance is lovely with a cozy bistro vibe and twinkly lights. Waitstaff is excellent. Our waiter, Frankie, has served us a few times before ( but he did not realize that) and he is consistently wonderful. All dinners were very good except the special (rack of lamb) ; see grades above for each dish. Portions were small and the meat was fatty. The restaurant is noisy and we had to talk loudly to hear each other. The pros outweighed the cons, but our dissatisfied diner will likely not return.
As always, food and staff exceptional!
Always have a great experience.
Love this place! I come here every time I visit AZ. Never gets old. Food is great & atmosphere is happening! Will be back!
We have loved Zinc Bistro's moules marinieres for years. On this occasion they moved to a much larger mussel size. Still very good, but not as good as past versions. Scallop dish was delicious. As this was Valentine's Day, the restuarant was very crowded and the noise level was louder than normal. Still love the place, but may avoid it on Valentine's Day in the future.
I realize there were issues that night. Excessive rain caused some problems in their atrium/patio area and the fact that it was Valentine's Day and they were probably busier than usual. However, I felt we were unduly "neglected" during the first part of our dining experience. The service at adjoining tables with different servers seemed to go much smoother. After our appetizer was delivered, it was probably close to 20 minutes before were were asked if we needed anything else.
As always, the food and wine were most excellent. I would have marked my review a solid star if we had been paid a little more attention. I would expect that from an exception restaurant.
It was Valentines Day so the restaurant was more crowded than usual. the service was lacking because of the large crowd. My food was overcooked which has never happened before. Normally everything is outstanding.
We made a reservations at least 2 weeks in advance, but when we checked in with the gentleman at the door he seemed confused...I followed him back to be seated, he looked around and proceeded to leave me standing while he "checked something". Then, said oh let's have you sit here...in the bar area, not the dining room! I refused as it is noisy in the bar and we made reservations for a leisurely dinner in the dining room...then he walked me around looking for a seat. I finally asked about a certain table, and he reluctantly seated us there. It was quite rude and unprofessional. The dinner was good and our server, Andrew, was outstanding....however, the front of house needs to treat their reservations and patrons with better care.
We’ve dined at Zinc Bistro a number of times, and have always had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere is upscale casual - very reminiscent of Paris bistros in style and tone. The Food is well prepared, tasty and rich. And the service is attentive and friendly. There’s a wonderfully friendly buzz about the place.
Well prepared food but we'd like great wine to go with a great night and that was really lacking here -- when I asked what a certain bottle of red was like, the waiter replied "it's good, I think you'll like it" which is a crappy response to help me know about the wine :( The bottle was disappointing and all California wines are on their pricier reserve list - not a single one by the glass :(
Had lunch with 4 out of town girlfriends for a girls day out. Zinc Bistro is a favorite spot of mine and I knew that my friends would love this place. We ate in the outside back patio. Lovely ambiance, excellent service and wonderful food. Everyone loved it!
This restaurant never disappoints. We have had lunch and dinner numerous times with raving success. The food is consistently flavorful and beautifully presented. Service is top notch. Wait staff is attentive and fully informed, but doesn't hover. A must on every visit to Scottsdale.
Great food and staff and ambience. Never had a bad experience there
Our waitress, Catherine, (sp?) made our [early] Valentines Day quite special. Her recommendations/suggestions were delicious; starting from the Tattinger Champagne to the cheese/charcuterie board recommendations and oysters. The oysters were fresh and sublime and never disappoint every time we have had ordered in past. And, what better desert to conclude a meal than with their magnificent pre-order (30 minute preparation) chocolate soufflé, a scoop of in-house homemade vanilla ice cream and fabulous espresso martini! Yes...much imbibing today, but absolutely no guilt! Thank you for making our day so wonderful Catherine and Zinc Bistro!❤️
Always good food but noisy
Really enjoyed Zinc Bistro. Great atmosphere, great service and wonderful food. The pork belly appetizer was outstanding and the filet with au poivre sauce prepared perfectly. Loved the bouillabaisse and topped it off dinner with a delicious chocolate souffle
High energy restaurant with great food and drinks. Our server was very nice and attentive.
Very elegant dining, excellent food prepared expertly, just a complete delight to eat there.
My Caesar salad was awful. It was 14$ and consisted of old romaine, thin luncheon meat chicken, toast crumbs instead of croutons. It was embarrassingly bad. However, the other people at my table loved their food. Please take note and up your game in the salad department! We had a noisy crowded table area.
The consensus was that it was overpriced for the quality and portions of food.
Always good food. Never a bad meal. We have taken many people to Zinc and they always love it.
I loved your salmon the old way. The new addition of black gnocchi was not eatable.
Too much creativity is not always the best.
Great place for lunch and dinner. Quiet enough to have a nice conversation. Onion soup delish.
Food seems to be slipping. My friends salad wasn't as delicious as it was a few weeks ago (how does one ruin a salad?? Maybe quality of lettuce? 😉 ). I had a salmon and broccolini for$21. The salmon was only 4 oz (way smaller than the proverbial "deck of cards, " and the vegetable was room temperature and blah. They brought me out new Hot vegetable. Too expensive for what they give you.
We had a wonderful late lunch from 1:30 to 3:00. Celebrated our 59th Anniversary.
Awesome atmosphere. Great oysters!!!
I would have given five stars on everything had it not been for the noise. It was truly too loud inside the restaurant to even carry on a conversation with whom you are dining with.
We asked to be moved to the patio and it was much better.
It was a wonderful experience. We sat on the patio. The noise inside was deafening
Always delicious with great service and ambience. There is something for everyone on the menu. We look forward to returning.
Awesome sauce , thank you Bobby( the newer guy)
Waitress was fantastic in every aspect...food was not as awesome as usual....could barely chew the duck, and it loaded with fat
They were out of several main dishes, and even out of bread, and out of quite a few of their wines.. The waiter disappeared for long stretches, and while the food was good and the ambience was OK, I wouldn’t likely go back there.
One of my favorite restaurants! I eat there with girlfriends for lunch. And go on dates or double dates with my husband. We both love Zinc
Had a girls' luncheon and it was perfect outside. Parking is always a challenge there, but that has nothing to do with ZINC being the fabulous place to people watch, eat, drink and have a great day.
This is always great! Great martinis, great food, and great desserts ( tough choices)!
All around fantastic dinner at Zinc. One of my favorite restaurants in the area. Never disappoints. Frankie was our servicer the other night and he was fantastic. Best server I’ve had from there. Get the flat iron steak with the pepper corn sauce, it’s amazing.
My wife was the only one of our party to have the mussels and she was sick all night! I had the duck and it was just ok. You expect duck to be fatty but I would say this was 30% fat. One of our guests had the braised short ribs and the meat had been pulled from the bone, which he didn't appreciate and hadn't been told. The waiter was very professional and we appreciated his good service. Overall, there was something about the restaurant that didn't seem right. It was as if there had been a recent change of ownership. It just felt different and not in a pleasant way...….!
A very reliable French bistro with good ambiance and food.
Service was slow. French Onion soup tastes burned and sour. Very nice manager, willing to make it right. Took 30 minutes to get our check after the lunch.
Very loud interior.
