Zin American Bistro Ratings and Reviews
I had the Sand Dabs. Not an attractive fish. Gray in color and an overall bland and soggy dish. Not tasty or appealing to the eye.
Forgot our cheese plate, had to ask for a glass of water a couple of times...overall disappointing. We have been here several times and were excited to bring our friends here for their first time. Not an impressive night.
We five had a reservation for 6:30 pm. We were not seated till 7:00 pm. Annoying! I was surprised that nothing was comped to us, despite the inconvenience. A FINE restaurant would say "Appetizers or Desserts on the House!" Zin is a great eatery. But, they could profit from learning some business skills in customer satisfaction.
We ate at Zin's after a day of golf in Palm Springs. Had a lovely table outside so we could people watch while enjoying our meal.
Everything from drinks to dessert was excellent. There were 8 of us and everyone commented that they enjoyed their dinners. The mussels were fresh and prepared perfectly. I had the hanger steak and it was delicious!
The only slight down side was that our server was not the friendliest person. We were trying to joke with him and he really didn't seem to want to interact with us. The service he provided was good, never hovered or ignored but just didn't seen to want to be there.
other than that it was a wonderful experience and we would definitely go back.
We were all pleased to find a restaurant that met all four of our party’s food requirements. The steaks were fixed perfectly for the meat eaters. The salmon was a delight, and the special duck gave rise to rave reviews.
Specialty drinks added to the occasion served by friendly waiters. Our hostess was especially gracious and gave us seating where we requested. Overall the evening was a delight and this restaurant will be our list for our next trip to Palm Springs.
We are regulars at Zin Bistro and this was a business lunch. Perfect setting for that along with your romantic dinner or dinner with friends. Fresh menu, always friendly service. Do check it our for lunch. A little more casual and nice to enjoy the patio with the street scene right there.
It was a great evening. Our table was perfect and the service was wonderful. I’ve had the chicken parmigiana salad the last two times I’ve eaten at Zin...it’s delicious! My favorite.💙 I definitely would recommend this restaurant. It’s a gem in the heart of Palm Springs.
The app had a bit of a challenge so when I showed up to the restaurant they didn't have my reservation. Although, they were busy, Nicole, noticing my embarrassment in front of my guest, handled everything amazingly gracious and treated us like we were their finest customer. Thanks Nicole!
Our experience during this visit was not as pleasant. We were seated at an inside corner table on the patio. The tables around us were full and the noise level was SO LOUD we could not carry on a conversation. We ended up leaving more quickly and did not order dessert.
Second time at Zin. First was a while back and very good. This one less good. Fried chicken and french fries were tasty, but rest of the food (flat iron, salads, sauteed spinach) was mediocre to bad. Our waiter was unenthusiastic. I'm never looking for fake energy, but he couldn't muster a smile or provide some thoughtful input on the menu Perhaps having a down day.
My last time at Zin.
The waiter mixed up the order. Food was late. He twice tried delivering soup I hadn't ordered. Each time it was sent back and he issued an apology. Okay, mistakes happen. Even twice.
When the bill arrived, the waiter apologized and said he was not charging me for the item I had ordered and finally had received. Great. But the soup I had not ordered, and he brought twice, was still on the bill. Ugh.
Zombie soup. Never ordered. Kept being delivered. Stayed on the bill. Wouldn't die! LOL.
The main meal was much too salty. Made my mouth pucker. My date had the same complaint.
Honestly, maybe we were unlucky. But.
We are visiting and stumbled upon this restaurant on NYE. The food and service was great. We liked the liveliness of the restaurant and enjoyed sitting outside watching people celebrating NYE. It was loud only because of it being a holiday. I am sure most other nights are quieter and more intimate for any occasion.
Several of the meals were quite good - but the vegetarian and vegan options were very disappointing. The Veggie burger was not good at all, and the vegan option was very poor. It’s time for restaurants like this to offer several high quality vegan and vegetarian option so everyone in the family can get a good meal.
