Great food, excellent service, great location. I go back time and again and have always had a great experience.
Service was exceptional! Dined furing Desert Dine out Week. Prices were affordable. Food was very good. Filet was most likely not Prime but it was overall a good steak for the value. Cheese Cake is worth the dining evening alone! I must comment again that we had experienced and professional service start to finish!
We were the only guests dining during the time we were there. Good people watching from the outside tables. No vibe as the place was completely empty. While some dishes were OK, many missed the mark by far:
--The calamari was tender, but the breading was way too salty. Luckily it immediately flaked off the calamaria when one picked it up.
--The texture on the filet mignon was off -- it was not tender at all despite being cooked to the appropriate level in the center. One side very chewy and either overcooked or freezer burnt. The mac and cheese served with it appeared to have been prepared ahead of time given how it clumped oddly and was dried out through the top half.
--Burrata salad was good.
--Salmon was passable, barely, saved by drenching it in sauce.
--Bread pudding was passable but was probably prepped a few days before.
Hope they can turn things around, I am sure it is hard to keep food fresh when the place is near empty certain times.
Good variety and prices are very fair. Good for gluten free too
Went for Restaurant Week, not as good as prior years. We told the server we were not in a hurry but the minute they took our appetizer plate away, here came the entree. As there were only 3 occupied tables, the kitchen should not have been rushed! Our server should have paced the meal, she only had one table of the 3 in the entire restaurant, ours! Disappointed in this meal.
We attended for dinner due to the restaurant week special. All of the food was excellent. We plan to take my sister here next time she visits. Pricey without the specials, but worth it.
Was wonderful. Never had a bad meal everything is fabulous
I had been here before but just at the bar. The food people kept ordering looked amazing, so I vowed to come for dinner next time I was in town. This was a first-rate dining experience: perfect service, delicious food, good value. I highly recommend and will be back.
I always have a great time at Zin and the food, service and atmosphere is always excellent. Normally I always give them a 5 for everything but the Salmon was a bit fishy tasting this time around. I highly recommend Zin and think the Salmon was a rare occurrence as I haven't experienced that before.
I'm a fan of this restaurant in Downtown Palm Springs. We went there on Saturday for lunch. The food and the service were both excellent. I had the Grilled Mary Chicken Breakfast in Mushroom sauce with brussel sprouts and potato croquette. It was delicious. My husband had mushroom soup and a caesar salad with chicken and he said they were both great. The reason I gave the restaurant only 3 stars is because they advertised a Restaurant Week Lunch for $20. I even called them during the week to ask what was on the Restaurant Week Lunch Menu and was told they were still creating it. What they should have said is "We are NOT going to do a Restaurant Week Lunch". Don't advertise something that you're not going to deliver. I checked just before I posted this review and the restaurant is still advertise this. That's deliberately fraudulent. Hence the awarding of only three stars.
My husband and I wanted to go out for a good salad and we both had The wedge salad with salmon. It was very very good.
Was a nice experience
We have passed this restaurant many times without going in and this time, we decided to make a reservation and try it out. It wasn't busy so we had a choice of seating on the patio. Good menu, excellent service and great wine. I had a really good pear arugala salad with the shrimp addition. My partner had the Mediterranean sea bass. We will definitely come here again on our next trip to Palm Springs.
Food was great and the service was very good. Not too busy the day we were in for lunch.
It was a great place to meet with friends and family.
The server forgot our appetizer, champagne splits were warm, food was very average. Won’t go back.
I always make sure I eat here at least once every time I go to Palm Springs. The food and service is always fantastic.
Greeted warmly upon walking in, seated quickly, and commencedpeople watching. The ZIN is known for that.
The waiter came over immediately ready to take our orders—we had looked because no beverages we yet offered. Waiter was miffed that we only wanted regular water. And when we ordered cocktails only, not wine in addition to, we were then treated as “less than”. I genuinely dislike snippy waiters, judging what you drink as if that somehow conveys to what kink of person you are. We were drinking overpriced cocktails in addition to tap water, I suppose.
Food: ok, nothing truly inspirational.
Once served, service was RUSHED. Plate started to be taken away why
I’ll i was eating. I turned to the waiter and sai “what was your first clue that you could take my plate? The fact I had my fork halfway to my mouth?”
Hey ZIN, a restaurant should be a place of joy and gastric delights, not about how fast you can get us out of there, FYI - we ut the evening short and I still have a bad taste in my mouth (pun intended) long after leaving the restaurant.
The service was excellent. All very nice people. But the food was not memorable.
Had a great time. Food and service was great.
I have been coming here for years and they never fail to impress me with their attentive service and excellent food.
I have been to Zin many times and like it very much. This time service was a bit slow and I had mussels special. White wine leek sauce so I was expecting European Belgian Dutch style and it was except for one ingredient, red pepper flakes. It was ok but completely lost the sweetness of the leeks that I was hoping for. I would suggest they go back to the more traditional preparation. The red pepper was a distraction and covered the flavors. Sometimes innovation is just the not worth the surprise.
It's a fantastic place to eat because the food is wonderful, the service is great
sitting outside on the patio you can watch the whole world go by which is quite interesting especially on Thursday nights when we have the street fair here in Palm Springs
Great place for a small group outdoor seating during the Thursday Village Fest
Had a great brunch with the family. The staff well accommodated our party of 11. The service was prompt and helpful. The food was rather delicious. I’m sure we will be back.
Always good food and service
A gem in the desert. Excellent food and service. Terrific wine list. The hostess, Natalie is exceptional.
Introducing friends To one of our favorite restaurants. We had a great bottle of Gruet New Mexican sparkling rosè (which Dionysian’s will remember) with Ahi rare, excellent & mushroom soup which was overly salty and rare hamburger that was way over cooked. They redid the burger and second try was excellent. First time I had so many problems but staff made it right for us. Except both soups were way too salty. Next time i’m sure the problems will be corrected.
Good kitchen with interesting dishes. Quiet.and great for conversations. Good service.
We had a fantastic dining experience and a front-row yet non-intrusive view of the Palm Springs Thursday night street fair! We were running a tad late for our reso while we were looking for parking so called ahead. The hostess couldn’t have been lovelier. Took our servers recommendation on the chicken parm salad and didn’t regret it - that is one brilliant dish! My wife had the pre-fix 3-course dinner and selected the fried chicken entree. Just like mom used to make! The whole meal was delicious and the staff was attentive and helpful. We just moved to area and went to Zin’s on a recommendation from friends. We will be back, and often!
Always like to come during street fair. Great people watching great food and service.
The host, Nicole is always the most helpful and friendly
The food and service was excellent, however, we experienced a bate and switch when it came to the pre-fix menu. We picked up a menu the previous week with and it included the pre-fix options. The same menu was displayed at the front of the restaurant when we arrived for our reservation. When we were seated the options were different. When we asked our waiter why, he said it probably was an old menu and offered no solution. Obviously not the answer we wanted since the menu in front of the restaurant was the same as the previous week.
Had my anniversary brunch there. The food was Great! The service was outstanding they paid attention to details. My champagne glass was never empty! Highly recommend it.
The food was okay, but not great. The restaurant was participating in a fund raiser event (for which I applaud them), and they were very busy. For this reason, I assume, the service was only okay as well. We had a nice outdoor table, but the noise level made conversation at our table difficult. Overall, I thought it a little pricey for the quality of the food and service.
Wonderful meal, so nice to find such a great steak tartare in the desert. We will definitely return.
I selected Zin American Bistro for lunch because of their generous support of Dine Out For Life Day. Great service, very attentive and upbeat. The soup of the day was anusual cantaloupe and pepper gazpacho. Marvelous blend of different flavors. My entree of hanger steak was cooked exactly the way I like it, so Chapeau to the chef!
Loved the Adult Mac & Cheese
We brought our fur baby and ate on the patio it was excellent
Nicole, the very stylish hostess, is so helpful and attentive. She always makes my dinner guests feel special.
Hanger steak was excellent, service prompt, nice setting outside
Great brunch spot. Delicious food, bottomless mimosas and great service. Dominick is a gem!
