Based on the menu on open table, I made a reservation. However, the real menu in the restaurant is not close to what is quoted on open table. It's almost double. While the food was good, it was not worth the price. Most restaurants will substitute a veggie, if you don't want potatoes or rice.
Great, as always. Fried chicken was very tasty and the mussels with wine/celery sauce were delicious.
Food value is inflated: average menu, less-than-average food and high prices - perhaps because of their high traffic Palm Canyon location. Service was very good however! The physical dining room is tired and deteriorating- borderline grubby. Will not recommend or return.
I love Zin Bistro. HOWEVER, twice in two weeks I have had to wait nearly an hour to be seated...even though I HAVE RESERVATIONS! The hostess has a bad habit of seating guests without reservations and then thrilling them that they have to be out within an hour. Hey!
Get another hostess!!!!
Everything was fine except my chicken. It tasted like it had come out of the freezer. It was tough and stringy. The waiter gave us a discount off the bill. We have dined there many times before and I was really looking forward to my meal. My dining companion’s port was excellent.
The wait and kitchen staff were especially accommodating to one of our party that had a garlic allergy; actually I've not experienced such great attention to tailoring the menu selections to the special dietary needs. Absolutely fabulous service.
Excellent. Ehren Was a fantastic waiter. Very knowledgeable about the menu and very personable and polite and professional. The best waiters we’ve had in Palm Springs.
Great! Very accommodating, great location, one of my favorite spots!
Waiter was the worst. Ruined the meal. Foof average
Was an okay experience but no WOW factor for sure. Service was pleasant and food adequate but veggies over cooked and fish undercooked. Biggest awkward moment was when bill came for our party of five with a 20 percent gratuity added. When one of our party questioned that practice the hostess said they never did that but waiter said they did. When he brought it back with our credit cards he’d taken it off. If they are going to do that they should tell you at least.
Good food and drinks. Lots of street noise when sitting outside.
Ate there 5 years ago. Food was much better. Service and ambience very nice.
We went there with guests from out of town. The service was good and the patio dining nice. The chicken dinner however was a leg and a thigh...very boney and not much too it. Having been to many other places here in town that serve boneless dinners, by comparison it was very disappointing. Then the bill came. One in our party drank ice tea. During dinner the staff would re-fill his glass. On the bill he was charged $3.00 for each glass of ice tea!! No place in all of Palm Springs does not have free refills for a soda or tea drink..plus he was not told, or asked about whether he wanted it knowing that was the case. Who expects to pay $6 or $9 or $12 for tea at dinner. I would not recommend this establishment to friends for such practices are unheard of and deceptive and a big money maker.
Had a fun meal with friends. The service started off great, but slowed towards the end (Ex. 2 of us ordered the unlimited champagne and those refills tapered off pretty quickly). In general the cuisine is good comfort food. I was encouraged to get the burger by our waiter ("What we are known for!") It might have been good, but I ordered it medium-rare and received a well-done briquet. And at that point it was taking so long to flag him down that I essentially gave up.
That said, it's a really fun ambiance in the heart of Palm Springs and the wine list is impressive. I'd definitely go back, but might be a bit more explicit about how I like my meat cooked.
Being able to sit on an outdoor patio on a Winter night is just unbeatable. Consistently good food and a friendly service makes this place a cosy and nice hangout where one can enjoy friends and family or just people watch. Hostess Nicole was so attentive and accommodating that our dining experience was truly special.
Ordered the mussels which came with Pommes Frites. Said I could sub a vegetable for the frites so I did. 15 minutes later the servers says the chef can’t replace the frites with the new side because the kitchen is so small but I can order a separate side of the vegetable I wanted. I’m not sure what the size of the kitchen has to do with anything’s since, in the end, they brought the mussels without the frites, but with a vegetable side and charged me extra. No one could ever explain why.
Zin is one of our go-to restaurants in Palm Springs. The menu is full of good options and the food quality is always great.
We have never had a bad experience here.
Dominic is an excellent waiter, and we appreciated the attentive service from his assistants. Nicole warmly greeted us like we were family, even though they were extremely busy.
Fine. Not memorable.
Our waiter was outstanding
Have never had a bad meal at Zin. Was a lovely spot to go with guests from out of town to show off the Palm Springs dining experience.
Kitchen service seemed slow.
Zin has become an annual stop on our annual visit to Palm Springs. We’ve never had a bad meal... XXX Macaroni & Cheese is reliably awesome. I had the Belgian Beef Stew this year which was amazing... even more so when paired with a nice glass of red at the suggestion of Neil the bartender. We’ve taken to eating at the bar, in part to chat with whomever else happens to be sitting there, but also to to visit with Neil and watch him ply his craft.
A comfortable place all around. The food, service and ambiance work together to create a really good, dependable dining experience.
Lobster bisque was thin as water and had little if any lobster. Fried chicken was great.
Overall good the hanger steak was tough and they didn’t charge us very busy weekend
Interesting menu. Nice options. The steak was prepared perfectly but the sauces were perfectly average. It would have been better if the steak were presented bare.
I had the Sand Dabs. Not an attractive fish. Gray in color and an overall bland and soggy dish. Not tasty or appealing to the eye.
Forgot our cheese plate, had to ask for a glass of water a couple of times...overall disappointing. We have been here several times and were excited to bring our friends here for their first time. Not an impressive night.
Great service and great food as always You keep upping your game and we appreciate it
Good but relatively average food, quite expensive for the dining experience delivered!!
We were looking for a restaurant with both vegetarian and lo-carb options and Zin fit the bill. Everyone in our party found something. The ambience was lively, but not noisy, and the patio facing the street was cozy and fun.
Healthy to comfort food always delicious and beautifully presented. Great wine and beer menu.
Really love the patio dining right in the heart of Palm Springs perfect for a romantic dinner for two or group of friends getting together.
We were greeted by the most friendly host. She was fantastic. We had a nice meal seated outside. Good for people watching.
We five had a reservation for 6:30 pm. We were not seated till 7:00 pm. Annoying! I was surprised that nothing was comped to us, despite the inconvenience. A FINE restaurant would say "Appetizers or Desserts on the House!" Zin is a great eatery. But, they could profit from learning some business skills in customer satisfaction.
We ate at Zin's after a day of golf in Palm Springs. Had a lovely table outside so we could people watch while enjoying our meal.
Everything from drinks to dessert was excellent. There were 8 of us and everyone commented that they enjoyed their dinners. The mussels were fresh and prepared perfectly. I had the hanger steak and it was delicious!
The only slight down side was that our server was not the friendliest person. We were trying to joke with him and he really didn't seem to want to interact with us. The service he provided was good, never hovered or ignored but just didn't seen to want to be there.
other than that it was a wonderful experience and we would definitely go back.
Overall very good but problem getting waiter occasionally
We were all pleased to find a restaurant that met all four of our party’s food requirements. The steaks were fixed perfectly for the meat eaters. The salmon was a delight, and the special duck gave rise to rave reviews.
Specialty drinks added to the occasion served by friendly waiters. Our hostess was especially gracious and gave us seating where we requested. Overall the evening was a delight and this restaurant will be our list for our next trip to Palm Springs.
We are regulars at Zin Bistro and this was a business lunch. Perfect setting for that along with your romantic dinner or dinner with friends. Fresh menu, always friendly service. Do check it our for lunch. A little more casual and nice to enjoy the patio with the street scene right there.
We were celebrating an anniversary. This place rocks! Great food and great staff.
