This was the best choice we could have made. Excellent, professional, friendly and timely service. Great staff, great food, great ambiance. Will definitely recommend and return!!!
Always fun! Gracious, yet laid-back. marvelous location (in or out). Endless repeat customers mix well with enterprising visitors. Very reasonable prices, and very good food, served well.
Excellent cuisine, fresh pasta, staff was delightful as well as attentive, highly recommended! Steak, seafood, pasta and vegetarian choices
We had an amazing time at Zin with all my friends. Martin took care of all us. Martin was great
The food was above average for Palm Springs and the desert.
My wife and I experienced the WORST service ever in dining out.
We left after the appetizer and salad, because our server was so worthless and rude.
Will never go back.
I am glad you enjoyed our food but very disappointed to hear your service was anything but great. I would very much like to make this up to you and correct it if you would like to email me directly at zin1ps@yahoo with more details. After 15 years in business here this is not what I expect from my staff and I am very sorry to hear that your experience with your server was bad. I hope you will accept my apology and allow me to give you the experience I want all my guests to have. Mindy
Gabby and Marin given us excellent service. We had great time
Excellent menu choices, attentive & friendly service, reasonable pricing, great location!
Thank you for the nice 5 stars review. We hope to see you again soon!
Leaving the restaurant I felt like we had been mugged. Food was decent, nothing special but certainly not bad. Had the fried olives and blue cheese, burrata salad then Ahi Tuna and Steak Frites.Chose a good bottle of wine with 50% off. It was a very acceptable meal until the bill came. These guys clearly have ideas above their station - $100 a head including tip for a Yard House level of cooking. The price would be fine if you had Ludo Lefebvre or Timothy Hollingsworth in the kitchen but really...
I'm glad you joined us for dinner & enjoyed it but I do feel like I should mention that you had more than you are implying. You also had beer, wine by the glass and dessert. Your food bill was actually only $99. Your beverages, 9.75% tax and tip added up to the remainder Lefebvre is $175 per person (tax, tip and bev not included) so you had grass fed meat, #1 ahi, home made dessert, drinks & tipped for less than 1/3$ what you are comparing us to & I know that's fair and better quality than YH
We dined early on a Sunday night. Zin offers a few specials to attract more customers during the low (summer) season, in addition to featuring an early bird 3 course prix fixe menu. We were disappointed because of several issues: First, the online prix fixe menu is different from the actual menu served. Out of main course items, 3 require a significant supplement which is not disclosed online. Second, it is impossible to benefit from the Happy Hour drinks and menu items and get the prix fixe. We had wanted some appetizers and drinks from the Happy Hour menu but those could not be served at our table. So we ended up ordering less food and less drinks. Third, there is a 'special wine' menu, with a special offer but we had to ask for it and were disappointed with the selection and the pricing. We figured the restaurant was about 30% full when we left. The service was friendly, the food was ok but not grand. We didn't get, nor did we understand, the various promotions and the inability of the restaurant to sell them on an otherwise slow night.
Love, love, love Zin. I have been eating here since the first week they opened this gem. Great service with an outstanding menu!
Thank you so much for your 15 years of support! We always look forward to having you in and hope to see you soon!
No surprises, no disappointments. Reliable food and drink.outdoor seating can be a bit loud with the palm canyon traffic but that’s the price of admission.
We used to dine at Zin during every visit to PSP, but we're done. Food was good but not great, our server was indifferent, and prices were too high. Since Nicole retired as hostess, the magic is gone. Too bad.
Tomas, No one misses Nicole more than we do but we still appreciate all our guests and are very disappointed to hear we didn't make you happy your last visit. We have raised our prices very slightly every year since opening 15 years ago but we strive to still give the best value for the quality of ingredients we use. We hope you'll change your mind and visit us again in the future. Whatever you choose, thank you for all your support in the past... who knows maybe Nicole will be back someday..
I never had this bad experience like before. Bartender not there most of the time. Horrible service... We order the food no utensil no napkin no appetizers plates Waited for long time . When we order the wine. My glass was dirty . No bartender to found When he come back no apologies. Just dump the same wine to another glass . When our appetizers came no small plates . I have to go get the plates from the host. We need water no bartender after he s back . I asked him for water . He seemed upset and dump the water in our glasses I asked for manager he’s said she somewhere around don’t know . I always like this place and manager is very good and other staff . Bad experience.
PLEASE send me an email as this is not the service I expect to be given to my guests as it sounds like you know. I was away on vacation and would very much like to discuss this with you personally if you would allow me. zin1ps@yahoo.
Really good downtown restaurant. I don't go often enough.
We travel out to Palm Springs from San Diego a few times a year. This is my favorite restaurant out here and sometimes we eat here every night of our trip. The staff is always really kind (and I mean REALLY so nice) and helpful. We’ve never had anything but a great meal here AND they serve the Beyond Meat burgers. As a vegetarian this is a serious plus because I can enjoy one of these while my husband can enjoy his steak. The mushroom soup is one of my husband and 2 year old sons favorites. There is really something for everyone. Thanks for a happy meal once again!
One of our favorite Palm Springs restaurants. This time we got a two-course early bird special for $21.99, but we usually go for the pre-fixe specials with great options. The service is always beyond excellent, as is the amazing food, whatever your order.
Zin American Bistro always has fresh ingredients, an interesting menu (there's a new one!), and pleasant service. Well-run and delightful, it's a treat for everyone -- and we're happy that "everyone" often includes us!
They use high quality ingredients always yummy. Service was outstanding. Very generous with the bottomless drinks.
Awesome! It was just awesome!
Loved it. Best cheesecake ever
Always a great meal at Zin. Both courses perfectly prepared and presented. Service was friendly and attentive. The menu featured our favorites and a few good special choices. For me, the chef changed up one of the salads to suit my diet. Don't miss the dessert options!
Zin American Bitro is a great place. After each visit, it seems that I have the same things to say. Fun and pleasant surroundings, friendly service, really good food, and a nearly omnipresent owner to sees that all details are "just right." Even in hot weather, we enjoy sitting outside, in the shade, under the misters. Be sure to make a reservation, as on popular days, the restaurant fills rather quickly. Also, their pris fixe dinner is a bargain on weekends, but an even better bargain, during the week. We highly recommend it! Of course, drinks are generous, and bar prices are moderate (it's Palm Springs!).
All the staff were very hospitable, but I need to give a shout out to our waiter...he went above and beyond
We always enjoy going to Zin American Bistro. The food is very good and the service always attentive. We enjoy the people watching.
We love Zin. We've been coming here on a regular basis for over 15 years. The Restaurant Week menu is awesome and the service impeccable.
Very nice, tasty food, and helpful servers
Very nice restaurant with great romantic ambience inside. Outdoor seating is nice too but a little loud close to the street so we prefer inside. Loved the music playing and the food was very good. Service was excellent and modern twist on cocktails. Highly recommend and will definitely return!
The whole thing was nice
The eggplant chunks in the vegetarian pasta were too big
The breaded shrimp was outstanding
Great atmosphere, good food made for a wonderful evening.
Greeted on arrival by the owner, who was very welcoming and offered choice of tables, service was friendly and efficient. Food was extremely well presented and very good quality. We will be back again / thank you!
Very nice, comfortable and pleasing American restaurant in the heart of downtown Palm Springs. Both indoor and patio seating, and a good variety of American favorites. All prepared with care and very flavorful. Great service.
Wait staff in its entirety covering our table outside was exceptional. Cocktails: superb! appetizers delicious.....mains were excellently prepared and presented... flavors were spot on....
The food we ordered was a weekend special. It was Duck breast cooked perfectly. The carrots were a good fit to the sweet sauce on the Duck. However, the over-cooked Brussels Sprouts flavor did not work with the sauce. So, we didn't eat them after tasting them. The service was very attentive and each course was served just after the previous dishes were removed. The wine was poured correctly and frequently to match the temperature on a warm evening. The Coffee Chocolate Mousse was super good. So, the indoor/outdoor atmosphere and the dining noise level match the younger crowd that seems to like this restaurant.
We've been here many times before and love the location / atmosphere. Tonight we dined on the rail, four of us, and the place was busy but not packed. The service was good & attentive. We had wine with our meal: Merlot, and Zinfandel, both were pretty good and priced right. For dinner we started with the Zin Bites, Mini "Beef Wellingtons" , $14, which were delicious! Then had the Un-Composed Salad Niçoise, $17, which was just okay, not great, mostly due to the canned tuna that's used in the salad. (Perhaps I should have got it with the fresh Ahi, but couldn't see how that was worth an extra $15) Also got the Prix Fixe for $36, & chose the salad, Buttermilk Fried Chicken which was cooked to a crisp & wasn't bad (but not great) as it had good flavor, & came with Creamed spinach &, Yukon Gold mashed potatoes & gravy which were tasty. For dessert we had the bread pudding which was just okay but not my favorite bread pudding as it was not moist or very flavorable. All in all it was an enjoyable dining experience, (atmosphere) & we still highly recommend Zin to others and will be back.
Great restaurant that I've been going to every since moving here over 16 years ago. A great selection of wines over any other place. They know their wines! The food is consistent with great selections. Its a good location and the bar is a good place to experience small bites and Happy Hour.
The restaurant was at a good location, the service was good, unfortunately, the food left more to be desired.
WHAT A LOVELY TEAM
Service was great, food was just ok for the entire party of four. Nothing any of us would go back for (burger, Benedict, chicken salad or appetizers). May try again not on a fixed prix menu.
