Food quality has went down substantially. Didn't taste fresh at all. Sangria tasted like chemicals. Waitress made comments about us eating. "Whoa" at the empty plate of apps. Caesar salad was bitter and dry. I was very saddened by my experience. I had remembered Zia's as an enjoyable dining experience. Not worth the $24 per plate we spent.
Food, service and atmosphere were all just right. Great service by Benjamin. Accurate and informative information on the menu items.
Promptly seated. Attentive server. Good selection of wine and other adult beverages. Quiet enough to hold a conversation. Food was good. Moderate pricing.
Love Zia’s but was disappointed with the ‘small’ pizza. We used to get a pizza that we could split and even take some home.
there are New Years Eve dinner. got my order messed up so had to redo and in meantime, husband has his food so is eating. By time I got my meal, husband done and both us have been to Zia's before and this time both meals were not the greatest. Restaurant was not that busy for being New Years(630p-7p)--so can not see problem with being too busy with orders. I would probably give it another try. Waiter apologized for mistake in order but nothing was offered with him or manger for the mix up.
We commend our server, Whitney, who made our dining experience quite enjoyable. In addition to her knowledge of the menu and spot-on recommendations, Whitney was extremely helpful with the wine sampler selection.
Food was good! The bread that they changed to is fantastic! Our waiters name was Jason. He was excellent! He went above and beyond!
Our server proved delightful and knew the menu well. She also had a knack of timing her arrivals perfectly, filling up near-empty mugs and bread baskets just in time but never interrupting my romantic night with my brown-eyed bride.
I have mixed opinions. I used to love Zia's. They changed their pizzas and the new ones are way overpriced, not that good, and really small for what you pay. I was really disappointed with our food. We ordered 2 pizzas that were "okay", nothing special, and really expensive for a tiny pizza. The old pizzas were delicious! We also ordered the cheesy bread appetizer which I will never order again. It was the same bread that they bring to the table with your meal, and they put a miniscule amount of cheese on top of 4 small pieces of bread with a little cup of marinara sauce and charged WAY too much. I was so disappointed. The kids meals are still a good value for what you get and the atmosphere is nice.
A locally owned restaurant with excellent food & great service! Great view of the downtown Toledo skyline, too!
Our waitress was fantastic and very knowledgeable about the menu. My mom and I had the Aglio E Olio and some of the pasta was clumped together. It could’ve used more sauce as well. Other than that, the appetizers and the rest of the meals for our party were great! The Minestrone soup is a must.
Our server was great and so was the food - it always is. I had my three kids with me (11, 14, 16) and they all found stuff they liked and had a good time too. My husband and I really enjoyed our meals too. We go there a lot and really recommend it. My daughter requests it every year for her birthday - she loves the chocolate mouse. Nothing super special about it - its good and she LOVES it.
This was average Italian food. A lack of spices made the meals rather bland. The brussel sprout salad was pretty much flavorless. Adding the salmon to it gave some help. The calamari appetizer was nicely breaded and wasn’t over cooked. However only a marinara sauce was provided. The charcuterie board had nice cheese and olives. But the meats did not taste fresh. I was surprised that the Happy Hour specials didn’t extend to the dining room.
We’ll look elsewhere for Italian when stopping in Toledo.
A great birthday meal with my wife.
Food was overdone
Wonderful food. Great service.
When ever we visit Toledo I like to go to this restaurant. It's my favorite. The food is always so delicious.
Great food, everything's homemade. Good portions. Our favorite restaurant wherever we're in Toledo.
The 7 of us that dined at Zia's the other night, all live in Cleveland's far west suburbs. We were doing wineries and the casino, so I suggested Zia's. I have been there probably 7-8 times and have always loved it. This was the most disappointing time. We all ordered a cocktail, and the one ladies' cocktail was late getting to the table. We all had salads, and they were short one, so I had to wait quite awhile for mine. We had to ask for bread, and when the waitress brought it , there was one little cup of butter for the 7 of us (and 7 pieces of bread). We had to ask for more. I ordered one of the specialty pasta dishes that had chicken on it and pesto. One of the other ladies die, and we sent it back because there were only four tiny pieces of chicken on it. For nearly $20 dollars, that's not acceptable. I think they added two more tiny pieces (I'm talking bite size). Actually the last time I was there, the same thing happened. I hesitated ordering it, but that has always been my favorite meal at Zia's. Since I only get there once or twice a year, I wanted to have it. Based on this last experience, I hesitate to recommend this restaurant to friends or even come back.
Good food and good service as always
Not as good as past experiences. The cocktail was sub-par. The chicken parm was too thick and dry and breading slightly burned. Way too much spaghetti. Bland sauce. Husbands lasagna was maybe, one layer thick. What happened!? Used to be delicious. Also, reservation was at 5:00.... doors locked until then.... waited in the cold. Maybe open table shouldn’t begin accepting reservations until 5:15.
My boyfriend and I went for my birthday. It was Sunday so there was nobody else there, thus we received Exceptional service! The servers were wonderful, which made for a very special and romantic evening with wine, dinner, and even surprised me with a birthday tiramisu (SO GOOD!!!) and candles. It was so perfect I even teared up a little bit. I wish I remembered the name of the server, she really made my birthday special.
Now about the food - We had the charcuterie board - Parmesan, fontina, prosciutto, cherry mustard, all absolutely delicious, but the sopressata had a funky taste like old refrigerator... My caesar salad was watery, too much pepper, and not enough anchovy flavor. The shrimp scampi was delicious and perfectly cooked, however the tails were left on, and I had to get my hands gooey trying to get the meat out of the tail...so not romantic.
service - 11/10
atmosphere - 10/10
food - 7/10
dessert - 10/10
Jenna was so friendly and did a great job overall!
Pizza recipe had changed from a previous visit so was a little disappointed they did away with previous recipe. There was a mix up with an appetizer so it was late in getting it to us but management removed it from our bill and gave us an order to take with us.
The waitress was fantastic though! All in all it was a pleasant evening!
I had the best bolgnaise for dinner in years. The fresh bread with olive butter made the meal feel Italian.
Had to top it off with dessert.
The service was terrible and the food was substandard and overpriced.
We always enjoy eating here and it has never disappointed us. The staff is always friendly and attentive and the food is always great! The wait staff has a great knowledge of the menu and makes sure you dining experience is memorable for all the right reasons.
It was fine. Nothing over exciting to write home about, but the food was good.
Excellent food and service with a nice setting on the river.
The food was good. Server was very attentive, but I think she was new. It was scary watching her clear the dishes and how she stacked them, we thought they would fall at any minute.
One thing she did, we did not say anything because I'm sure she's still learning, when she poured the martini, she would pour it so it ran down her fingers and into the glass. I think a patron less patient would has really caused a fuss.
The restaurant was very hot, we were fanning ourselves.
Started off good but after we got drinks and appetizers it was like the waitress disappeared. We was there when dinner was slowing down. Got food, it was okay. Then never saw waitress till we was ready to go. Then it took her 15-20 mins to get boxes and our checks. It's a expensive meal and it was just OK. Won't be back.
Food was not prepared well and disappointing. My salmon tortellini was very salted and my wife's parmesan was over cooked.
I wasn’t happy they changed their pizza style and its own pizza it’s not the same! The old way was much better and service was slow! It’s suppose to be my daughter birthday to enjoy it and lots of things I wasn’t happy!
No reservations for patio seating, happy hour is ONLY at the bar, no table side fettuccine on the patio. Super slow service, waitress was unprofessional to the females present, and overly friendly to the males present. New pizza is terrible.
We've eaten MANY times over the years and always loved our experience. My only complaint is that you rarely have Stout or Porter beer on tap. The food and staff are always excellent.
Our server was amazing. The experience was dampened by our salad course. The main entrees were delicious and our server went out of her way to make sure my husband had the perfect drink and our toddler boys had enough bread.
The service was great, food was excellent. We sat outside on the patio, awesome scenery & friendly atmosphere
Food is a bit too salty for me and the service is excellent!
Surprisingly bland. We went there for a anniversary dinner on recommendation from a friend. Very nice looking place, great attentive server. The food was unfortunately tasteless. Made the joke that we might as well have just gone to Olive Garden and order twice the amount of food for the price.
I think the host at the front door was falling asleep because she had her head down on the counter when I walked up. The bar service was slow to wait on us. Two people at the other end of the bar were waited on before us and we arrived first.
