Our food at Zia's was fantastic, and you can't beat the view of the river on a beautiful summer day.
S L O W service we had to flag down our waitress several times and she acted annoyed
Waiting 1 hour & 45 minutes after being seated for your food is not acceptable
The food was average and the restaurant was dirty.
Food was delightful. Authentic Italian cooking. Appetizers and main course were excellent. Extensive wine selection. Only negative was the service the evening we were there. Very, very slow to receive our main course.
Use to go to Zias for all special events. They really have gone down hill. My pregnant sister had to send alfresi back due to too much brandy in entre. She still had to pay full price and was not able to eat with reat of table. Asked for desert menu and was not given one. Requested butter and had to go to kitchen ourselves to get. My cousin requested her entre to be made table side. They forgot and she was handed it from kitchen. The list goes on and on. I requested to talk to manager after bills were paid and he asked "what do you want, free desert in to go boxes?" No apologies. No genuine concern. Horrible experience for FAR too much money.
Our server on the patio was great! (sorry to not remember her name). The food was delicious! The manager who seated us was a bit abrasive and made a point of telling me that my request for the patio was only a “request “ despite saying “this time” she could seat us there.
Not what it once was! Poor quality food at high prices! Poor service/food lacking taste .Soup was not worthy to feed a dog. Reservations with a request for a booth were useless. Denied Happy Hour but, now glad we didn't waste any more money there. Portions were small, looked more like appetizers. This place should be closed down. A disgrace among all the good eateries in Toledo. Would not go back even if it were free! DO NOT GO THERE!! A TRUE WASTE OF MONEY! All 4 of us are educators and will share our experience with others!:( :( :( :(
Food is expensive for the quality. Wasn’t anything special. Wouldn’t return .
We really enjoyed the new pizza! So glad they are making their own bread!
Atmosphere is authentic Italian dining and wait staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Food is excellent as well. I’m the $15-$30 a plate range with an extensive wine list. A place you need to try at least once.
The food was delicious! Lots of variety. Decor and music were great. Server and staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Everything had a homemade taste.
Always delicious, always dependable! We try to make Zia's at least 2-3 times a summer. We sit out by the river and enjoy the evening. The food, the service, the wine list, and the creative cuisine make it wonderful!
It's my favorite seafood restaurant and my favorite restaurant in Toledo.
My husband and I came here for our anniversary and our waitress was friendly and helpful with the menu since we had never been there before.
Appetizer took over 45 minutes to come out, it was the meat & cheese tray so no cooking required. Needless to say that was set down and before we got a bite here came our salad & dinner, which my dinner I rejected when it was brought before the appetizer the first go around. You’ve changed the pizza which was the reason we came there because my husband used to love it BEFORE the change. Your restaurant was not busy, I’d hate to seen if it was. My husband asked 3 times for a refill that he finally got after we paid the bill. Last mixing scallops with chicken in the carbonara was horrible!!! If you are going to do a scallop carbonara special don’t dump chicken (which was dry) into it. We’ve been coming there at least 4 times a year for years, doubting we’ll be back, especially with the bad choice of changing the pizza. Also the bread change you made at the beginning of the year is also a horrible choice.
The food didn’t seem up to the usual standard and the service seemed a little rushed. I can only assume it was the 4th of July and the staff wanted to get home but for $100 for two people the food and service seemed a little lacking.
I have been to Zias many times before. This will likely be the last time. Prices were steep for what you received. The egg plant was not as good as THE OLIVE GARDEN, with theirs being quite tender (plus much less costly). No rewards -perks for a birthday. But the one thing that was disturbing was the constant flow of people in an out the back door and most unknowning leaving it open and allowing the 95 degree temperatures to come in. Honestly, huge let down for the whole party and all agreed, too much money for the experience and no perks! Sorry Zias-will not likely return.
Great time, great food!
Loved it, they should open one in northern Kentucky, good with allergies, excellent service, good food, priced appropriately.
We waited about an hour for our food. No free dessert for birthday as there was in the past. Service slow
Eight family members got together to say good bye to two moving to Florida. We had a very relaxed time, didn't feel rushed to eat and leave. The food was excellent and many took home
leftovers. The only thing we all didn't like was the choice of music and how loud it was. It was
too loud for some to hear conversations across the table.
As always—Zia’s was great but our server, Jenna, was exceptional. Another fabulous dining experience.
The food was pretty darn good. Our table was up against a bunch of filthy wine bottles. When we mentioned this, we were told that they were just empty bottles. The waitress wasn't around much, so we had to wait a bit if we needed something. The waitress knocked over a drink onto my wife's lap, offered to go get a towel, and apologized. No offer of anything to make up for it.
Excellent food as always
My meal was very good! I loved the cherry mostarda!
Great food , fast service and reasonably priced. I would go back anytime
Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu. The food was delicious. The only complaint was it was too cold where we were sitting and had air constantly blowing on us.
Staff is always wonderful. Food is fabulous. We usually get there a couple of times a year. We drive from about 35 miles away to go for special occasaions. 2 of us or 12 of us it is always a great meal and good times.
I have been going to Zia' for decades. I'm sorry to say, this will be coming to an end.
We normally have celebrated birthdays yearly at Zia's, but decisions made under the new ownership has been for the worse.
My favorite dish of chicken fettuccine alfredo was fair at best, chicken was clearly precooked and reheated, the noodles appearing to be prepared the same or now of poor quality, tasting like cardboard. The food no longer taste like it was freshly made in-house and more like boxed noodles and sauces.
Some of our favorite menu items are no longer available. The menu change reflects the lack of offering items that were previously made in-house and more of the frozen items offered by wholesale restaurant vendors.
The bread is no longer from Zingermans's and taste like it's store bought. The pizza crust appears to be now pre-made and generic round 12", instead of the hand tossed oval.
Desert is no longer provided as a birthday treat (not a big deal as they do still provide the discount on the day of).
The interior has been "cleaned up" but they removed some of the best artifacts they had.
On this occasion, we were also sat in the back near the rear patio entrance on a mildly windy day where the door was constantly opened by servers and customers entering and exiting. Made for a terrible place to sit as the house cooking vents would produce a huge draft on every opening. This was a known issue before and they used to not sit people two feet from the this door when the patio wss opened.
I am very saddened by these changes.
Miss the old style pizza. Don't like the new crust. Please bring back the chopped salad option with the dinners that you had years ago.
The appetiser was very good and the entree, I had the swordfish, was amazing. The service wasn’t to best I’ve experienced but overall was good. Definitely going back again soon.
Birthday. Food was very average. Seem quality of going down hill. Wine was a bit over priced as well. Seems like pricing went up because it is on the water. Service was good. The charcuterie platter was horrible. Presentation not very good and they had one chews an a slab of meat on a board way too small.
Very disappointed a couple of months ago when they took the thin crust pizza off the menu and replaced with a round pizza that isn't that much different than anywhere else. If you miss their thin crust pizza, try Pizza House on Church St in Ann Arbor. Then I had lasagna tonight that I love, still good but they changed the sauce to a standard creamy tomato sauce that you can find any place. The old sauce had whole pieces of tomatoes and a very fresh flavor.. what they served me tonight, I could find as good out of a jar. They seem to be loosing their fresh flavors.. also their bread basket bread is not anywhere as good as it use to be, looked to be sliced up thick crust pizza crust.. I always look forward to their great bread they use to have.. I hope as I try other dishes I love, they haven't down graded the flavors in them too. When I pay for a premium dinner, I expect fresh flavors... not something I would find at a fast food chain restaurants.
As usual, Zia's on Mother's Day was outstanding. The dining room was full, but there was not an excessively long wait for our food and the meal was nicely paced. The food was delicious and the dessert even more so. We all enjoyed our dining experience.
It was a combination of Mother's Day and a birthday. Food prepared at table was very good. Overall a very nice meal and presentation.
We came in for my best friend’s birthday and she was not disappointed, nor were any of us. Very good meal!
We live in Michigan but when we are in Toledo we always choose Zia’s for a nice sit down dinner. We love the view outside on the waterfront.
We were there for my husbands birthday, we were seated immediately but the service was extremely slow. Our waitress was super sweet, but I think she must have had tables in another room. We hardly saw her. My husbands pizza was under cooked. We did not mention the pizza due to the slow service and we were getting half off due to his birthday..
We came as a large group. We started at the bar. The service was great at both.
Our waiter made sure we were all taken care of and the food was fabulous
A little pricey but well worth it.
