Zhivago offers a lunch service for special guests Wednesday through Friday and a dinner service Friday through Sunday. The restaurant features a variety of appetizers, soups, salads, pasta, seafood and steaks and chops on the menu. House specialties served at Zhivago include beef tenderloin schnitzel, beef stroganoff ala St. Petersburg, Moscow duck, stuffed pepper and cabbage and chicken ala Kiev. In addition to the public restaurant, it also offers a private banquet room that can be reserved for special occasions and private parties.

This was our first visit to Zhivago. We were only a handful of 'regular' diners, while the remainder of the dining room was clearly being set up for several large parties. The staff were so incredibly busy setting up for these extravagant parties that the few tables that were there "just for dinner" were mostly ignored. We waited (very hungrily) for close to ONE HOUR for a chicken, salmon, and a salad. Meanwhile, we watched 12-15 wait staff bring platter after platter of food out for a banquet of people who had not yet arrived. Our waiter who clearly had no control over the food preparation, nonetheless looked at us with little concern or emotion each time we asked him for the ETA of our dinner. Our party of 4 became convinced of our invisibility, and noticed the other diners staring helplessly at the waiters hoping someone would remember that they were there. Frankly, I have no idea why the dining room was open for regular dining when they were clearly incapable of functioning both as a banquet hall and restaurant. One of the worst dining experiences ever.
What an experience! You have to come just to see the interior decor! We came on a day where there were several large groups, so the ambience was high. The service was spotty - the waitstaff was attentive, but some of the food came out late. People were happy with their entrees, which included beef stroganoff and shiskebabs.
What a special place! Great to go to celebrate a special event
perfect dinner with my friends . Unit so nice and frendly . If you order Shnitcell take Home Style potato and mushroom w garlik sauce . My blinis w caviar same like Home from Ukraine . Interior and service high class
perfect dinner , tasty food appetizers ( smoked salmon , fire crakers and gourmet sampler . Reasonoble price 24.95 for that , restaurant look very decorated and smarmy
We tried this restaurant based on reviews. We were first disappointed with the hostess not paying attention to us. Then when we ordered, they were our of one of the featured dishes (Moscow duck) that we both wanted. The restaurant wasn't that busy so the server made the excuse that it was due to a big party in their banquet room. Our alternate entree choices (salmon and beef stroganoff) were warm, not hot, and just fair in taste. I selected lemon sorbet for dessert but they brought ORANGE. I sent it back and they did not charge us for it. Nice try, but we won't return.
Great service. Food was amazing . Spent my Valentine's day and I'm not sorry for booking my special day at Zhivago restaurant . 10* if possible
Somewhat disorganized. Several different servers. Food good. Nice folks. No one at the front door we had to call them to be seated.
interestingly, the venue had my wife and friend (the 2 diners who reviewed this meal) seated at the only table for 2, apparently almost forgetting they were coming! there were large tables set up for some function and included suckling pig, and looking quite authentic!
so they had a good meal, felt like they were in Russia, and would try again! I think the whole OPEN TABLE thing was new to this venue.
You feel as if you are in Moscow. The amount of food served is hard to believe. Great food, great entertainment and a lot of fun. Many people plan to be there 5-6 hours, and to eat and drink the whole time. It’s more than food. It’s an experience.
Great meal, great service
We are newer to the neighborhood and have been wanting to try Zhivago for some time. We finally decided to try it out on a Friday evening, but as we walked in we realized the restaurant was closing up. We said we could leave but we were told that the ovens could be fired back up! We were the only people in the entire restaurant so we had top notch service! The disco light and string lights were put on, the music was turned up, and our kids danced the night away. The food was fabulous and the conversation with Luba was wonderful. Thanks to Luba and Alex for accommodating our late night dinner and providing entertainment for our children. We can’t wait to return!
Maybe our the best time because atmosphere amazing and friendly staff makes you so glad. Duck and house potatoes make me feel, but also we have gourmet sampler and mushrooms zhuliene , and Bomba chocolate for dessert. !!!
Our meals were fabulous. We ordered the duck with cherry sauce and the beef tenderloin. Absolutely delicious!
My day so good because we had perfect prefix menu dinner and great service and also music band. Food so good (lamb , brisket, blinis w red and black caviar and definitely Napoleons w vanilla baltik ice cream)
It was extremely disappointing experience, service was very slow, ambiance was not welcoming. The place was stock in 90s and definitely didn't worth the drive.
We came for Easter dinner, but the big meal was brunch so it was dead.
Romantic night and good dinner . Our order Moscovian duck and Venna schnitzel come s with home style mash potato and plow (rice w lamb meat ) . Outstanding food and taste . Portion size and presentation A+ . Friendly staff and helpful ( Irina and alex )
international woomens day we celebrate there and absolutely good food ( salmon broiled and rack of lamb so good ) , couple appetizer ( manty and fire crakers so big portion and tasty ) , musician also veyr professional

We went on a Thursday night and there was another table of 2 making the total of 6 people. I don’t know how they are on the weekend. Food was ok.
Food was good but no one else was there. Very weird
Despite having open reservations on the app, there were no tables when we arrived due to several special events. Their only suggestion was to seat us in the corner of a room with a private party going on which felt very inappropriate. We left & went somewhere else.
Went on a Saturday with another couple and only one other table was being used. We left at 7:30 and still no one else showed up. It's a very Ethnic Russian restaurant but the food was pretty good. They seem to specialize in private parties as two other rooms were busy.
We came in from out of town to go to this restaurant. Made reservation using open table. Received email confirmation of reservation on morning of reservation. When we arrived at the restaurant the door was locked and it said it was closed for matainance. I guess they don't tell open table??
We had a terrific dining experience. The duck was outstanding. If you want to try Russian food, this is a great spot.
It is good, but used to be better. I used to go for the great duck. It is no longer crispy, but there was no fat on the meat. That was nice.
No Russian selection
Food was of low quality
Very noisy band
Host sat us next to a private event.
Really enjoyed the tastes of my childhood. I almost felt like my grandmother was in the kitchen. My brother and I went for the first time and will definitely be back with other family members when they come into town. Very professional staff. It was a great experience. Thank you
My husband and I rented the restaurant for our wedding reception 13 years ago and had what was called by our guests "The most fun wedding we've ever been to." The staff was charming, the food delicious, the regular live band was entertaining, the Christmas decorations were festive and warm! We went back this week for an anniversary dinner and were shocked to be the only two in the entire restaurant! It was quiet and disappointing to be honest. Our waiter admitted that the crowd is unpredictable, and true enough, a couple nights later we saw the parking lot packed. I hope they maintain a crowd because it really is a unique gem of old world decor and cuisine.
Enjoyed the food and the general atmosphere and the service was good. But for a less than "exorbitant" (good) meal expect to pay about $40 to $45 per person with tip.
My wife and I went for dinner to Zhivago for our anniversary. It was quite, romantic, and tasty. Blini and caviar is a must! Borsch was spectacular, and vareniki tasted great! There was a great variety of typical Russian dishes to try. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who would like to discover great Russian cuisine.
