Zesty's Ratings and Reviews
I chose Zesty's quite randomly and we four were very pleased with all our entrees. I had the chicken dish with a mushroom sauce that I wish I could replicate. Simply delightful. Salads very fresh. Desserts were appropriately small and very light - everyone partook. I look forward to our next visit.
This was our 5th visit to Zesty's and it scored a 5 each time. The food is always great, the servers are friendly, the owner is engaging, and the atmosphere is perfect, whether for just the two of us or with friends. It is a consistent winner that will keep us coming back.
I haven't been to Zesty's in years, but really liked our early dinner. Parking meters are available the earlier you arrive.
Jason was a wonderful server who allowed us to sample multiple wines before choosing. He even gave my friend half a glass-at half the price-since she was driving. That was amazingly accommodating.
Our shared grilled octopus and moussaka dishes were terrific. Zesty's also has a great decor.
Really enjoyed and will return when in the area.
Great service by the new manager, Jason. My mom and I felt very welcome and were well accommodated. The food was really good and worth the price paid. My only disappointment was that they changed the happy hour from 1/2 price off all drinks to only certain drinks. With that being said, I will definitely be going back for lunch or dinner soon!
Lovely restaurant on Main Street Manayunk. Owner/chef is a tremendously congenial guy with a great deal of talent for fish. Service is excellent and ambiance is perfect for entertaining. Plus, the musicians (guitar duo) were terrific - not too loud but added to the atmosphere.
Mediocre to pretty good Greek cuisine in a neighborhood where there are a ton of restaurants and you probably have better choices for a good meal. My wife's grilled fish,(Dover sole) which is a specialty and was highly recommended to us was quite expensive and only mediocre. I would recommend sticking with the less expensive traditional Greek dishes which are probably a better value and more close to what one might expect for the price.
Service was friendly but slower then we would have liked. No wine list was available and they were out of at least one wine. Baby octopus was very good, the whole fish was excellent, the lamb "kebab" looked great but was overcooked. We were treated more than fairly by the owner who removed this item from the bill. Our groupon was not accepted, perhaps because it was Mothers Day.
I would recommend Zesty's for the food, but be careful what you orser.
Experiences at Zesty's with adult diners has always been exceptional. The food is always top notch and service is fairly good. It is not a kid restaurant though. No kids menu. But they do make a modest effort to accommodate families by offering an off menu spaghetti dish for $5. Will definitely return, but maybe not with the kids. Great chef!
Fish a little dry but fresh. Not worth $34.Chicken dry and bland. No wine list so server suggests. $12 glass poor quantity and poor tasting wine. One cocktail very weak. This restaurant has great comfortable chairs and a wonderful atmosphere but the food and drink does mot measure up for the price.
One of the most pleasant dining experiences I've had in a while. The owner and chef were very friendly. We started with the combination dip platter. The hummus was absolutely delicious. We also got the spanakopita as an appetizer and it was very tasty - maybe my favorite dish of the night. Shrimp, moussaka, and lamb souvlaki were all wonderful. If we had had room for dessert I'm sure it would have been delicious as well. One other plus was the life music they had - a guitar and upright bass playing mellow music which went perfectly with dinner.
The food was very good, but my meal had to be sent back because it was cold. They did not have the wines listed on their wine list or the beer, they do not have the menu listed on line available at the restaurant, and our waitress was a flake. We were literally the only table, and our food came before our drinks, she forgot my daughter's soda, and my drink and my husband's came at different times. UGH . I like this restaurant, but get it together!!!
GEORGE, OUR SERVER, WAS ATTENTIVE, WITHOUT BEING OVERBEARING. THE GRILLED CALAMARI WAS WELL-SEASONED AND DELICIOUS. THE SMALL GREEK SALAD WAS ENOUGH TO SHARE, TOGETHER WITH A COUPLE OF APPETIZERS. THE SHAPE OF THE COFFEE CUP WAS UNUSUAL. GEORGE OFFERED TO REFILL MY CUP.
NOT INEXPENSIVE, BUT HAD A LOVELY MEAL , CELEBRATING A BIRTHDAY. AND, ON A TUESDAY NIGHT, WE WERE ABLE TO CONVERSE, WITHOUT TOO MUCH EFFORT TO BE HEARD. FISH TANKS WITH VERY LARGE FISH MAKES FOR INTERESTING DECOR.
I had to be in Manyunk on a Saturday afternoon, and it had been a while. When I lived there several years ago, Zesty's was my hangout; so I asked my wife if she wanted to come along. Eric, the manager, remembered me fondly, though it had been over eleven years since I had been there. Some things had changed, most notably the now-beautiful décor, but the food was the same wonderful Greek food I remembered. The Moussaka and the Pastitsio were terrific.
Food was phenomenal! Best calamari I have ever had! They were it of the drink I ordered and the bartender came over to me personally and created a drink based on why I was looking for. The owner stopped by to check on us and the waitress was super sweet. For the price the food had decent portions.
