Our server, Kayla went way above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience! We love Zesti!
Service was A-1, food was mostly good, noise level grew pretty high as tables filled. Not a place for intimate dinner conversation.
Always great there.
Service was great but food was average.
We made we sat about 2 feet from the table next to us. We asked for another table and were sat at a table right by the front door. Several people were standing by our table, without masks, waiting for their table or takeout. We left. They would not accommodate social distancing.
Amazing food !!!! Our waitress was amazing! Drinks were super good!!
Food was outstanding. Sat at a high table next to windows, was cold as draft was blowing in through cracks. Would try this place again but at a different seat.
Zesti is a great restaurant to visit with friends. The service is outstanding and the food never disappoints. I had the ravioli and loved it. The crab was perfect and the fresh pasta was amazing!
Had a 6:00 p.m. reservation on a Saturday night in early February. In my reservation, I had specifically requested a "Standard" table rather than a "High Top". When we arrived, the hostess directed us to a High Top and I asked for a change. There were at least two "2-tops" in the main dining room that were empty. I pointed specifically to one, and was told that was "reserved". I told her I had a reservation also. She told me they had to "balance" the server tables (I guess the customer was not a priority). Note the one table "reserved" arrived 30 minutes later at 6:30. The other table was not seated during the time we had dinner.
It was below zero that night and we were seated on the wall facing the outside. Chilly. Fortunately, my wife had worn a sweater. When we sat down, the table was wobbly and clearly out of balance, so once again I went over to the hostess. The hostess came over and put something under the leg to better balance it. By this time, my wife was putting her coat on and walking to leave she was so upset. I convinced her it would be no fun trying to fine another place on a Saturday night during dinner time. We agreed to stay.
The server arrived and told us that 3 of the pasta dinners were not available that evening (two of the choices were on my list to be my dinner choice).
Cocktail was $14 (no call brand) which I thought was a bit expensive for Lake Country.
What we were able to finally order was good. The rest of the night was uneventful.
We have been to Zesti's before and enjoyed the meal. Maybe this was an exception - maybe just a bad night - I hope so because we came away very disappointed in the way we were treated.
We had no problem getting in for a 7:00pm weekday reservation on a cold winter night. The staff is very friendly and the service is prompt. My Zesti's Old Fashion with Woodford Reserve Bourbon was very good. My wife had the house Pinot Noir (Story Point)which was drinkable at best; maybe uncorked over to many days? The entrée's were delivered hot and were the perfect comfort food on a cold evening.
First time, great food and Brad the bartender did a great job. Hope I have his name right. Will be back.
This place is DYNAMITE!!!! If you are a foodie, it is a MUST!!! Thank you for a great experience, we will be back soon!
Very enjoyable dining experience. Everything on the menu looks great and is very reasonably priced compared to other restaurants in the area. Doesn't make any difference what you order in that every dish is well prepared and very tasty.
The first few years the Zesti's was open we loved going there. But over time it seemed the food was changing and not in a good way. The menu has stayed stagnant since it opened, which is fine if the food stays at a high quality but it hasn't. We noticed the last couple times we've eaten there they are cutting corners on their dishes. The plates seem to be of lesser quality. I had a seafood plate with shrimp, scallops, fish, sausage. The shrimp and scallops tasted like they came from Pick N Save. My wife got the Spaghetti Bolognese which used to be her favorite, rich and creamy. Now it's mainly noodles and a watered down sauce with very little meat in it. My son got the Orange chicken and his chicken was served luke warm to cold. Bottom line, I think the restaurant has cut corners to save money or something. Not nearly as good as it used to be.
Excellent as always. It says I need 50 characters
The meal we had at Zesti was wonderful and thoroughly enjoyed my birthday dinner. The wait staff was very attentive. I was glad that all staff wore 😷. Felt a little uncomfortable with so many patrons not wearing them. I haven't gone out to very many restaurants since COVID, about 4, so I know I'm super sensitive about that.
We’ve only been here once for dinner. We had two entrees and dessert. Three drinks; 2 cocktails and a glass of wine. We had plans after dinner so had an early 6pm reservation. At least when we were there, there were several noisy kids; so family friendly for early reservations. By the time we left at 7:30, it was only adults, no kids.
When we were sat, the hostess sat us between two different sets of kids. No worries with noisy kids, but there were open tables on the other side of the room, where it would have been more appritate to sit a couple.
There was no social distancing. We were about 2 feet from tables on our left and right.
Food was good, but not exceptional. I had the saphron crab ravioli. It was good, but not outstanding. My wife had the gnocchi and substituted the shrimp for Bolognese. Hers was pretty good, but not great.
We had tiaramasu for dessert. It again was good, but lacked the classic zesty espresso flavor of a traditional tiaramasu.
It would not be a first choice to go back.
Great value, definitely going back. All of Michael Feker's restaurants are fabulous.
We have eaten at Zesti many times in the past however this visit three of us had entrees that had way too much salt on the meat as if they were soaked in a salt solution? I had the short ribs, my husband had the duck and my son had the lamb. The flavor of the sauces was almost non-existent since all you tasted was salt. Perhaps the food was processed and not cooked onsite; I don't know but we were disappointed if the quality is starting to decrease. The other thing I will mention is the mixed drinks sometimes are over poured meaning more alcohol than you need. I know that costs the restaurant money and an overly strong drink isn't pleasant. I usually wouldn't write a review...we would just not return however my husband cannot eat gluten and this place has always been a great option for him to go out to eat. Just this time the food wasn't as good as it's been in the past.
Staff is great and apps & dessert were delicious. We'll try again but it may be awhile before we return.
The good is always consistent in flavor but the last few times we’ve been here, the main entree is hot but everything else on the plate is Luke warm to down right cool. Had the salmon special tonight and the Brussel sprouts a palenta were cold. A little disappointed about that. Not sure what’s going on there yo be honest. Sides also seem to be shrinking. Literally had 4 Brussel sprouts and maybe 1/3 cup of palenta.
Worst service I have ever had! Booking our reservations didn’t help, we waited 20 minutes to be approached at our table for even water. Your app never helps, every time I say standard seating they put me in the bar!!
Love the food here and the ambience but the service was horrible. Ordered an appetizer and stated when ordering that we wanted the appetizer only if it came before the meal. We never got the appetizer. Ordered another beer which was also forgotten and had to go to the bar myself to get another round. This is the second time we had bad service here. I hate not to tip at least 15% but in this case tipped just under 10%. Would have been justified in not leaving a tip but feel that waiters and waitresses work hard and hate to leave nothing.
Have been here several times but am rethinking. They need to get their act together on service.
Loved the sangria
Service was spotty/quite slow
Think they were understaffed
Still one of our favorite restaurants
Thanks for a very nice New Year’s Eve dinner
Food was great. A little noisy because of the open ceiling.
The entire dinner was wonderful. We tried Bruschetta, Eggplant and the Flatbread for appetizers. Followed by the burrata salad. But the best part of the meal were the Japanese Shortribs and the Stuffed Pork Chops, both were amazing. Everything about the evening was awesome, highly recommend Zesti!
We have dined at Zesti many times and have never been disappointed. Food is great, love the atmosphere, friendly service and imaginative specials. Thanks
Zesti was recommended to me by my hair stylist. I wanted to try it and also get her a Zesti gift card as a Christmas gift. I've dined at Il Mito in Wauwatosa, one of chef Michael Fekker's other restaurants. Zesti was terrific! Italian food with a variety of options on the menu. Good price point too. I tried the lasagna which was made with short rib beef rather than the traditional ground beef. It was outstanding! Nice sized portion and I ate the whole thing! Too delicious and nothing left to wrap up and take home. The Caesar salad was good although it could stand more dressing. Pretty dry. The house baked bread and garlic-laced dipping sauce was wonderful. Service was terrific and the dining atmosphere was very nice. Well appointed decor. I definitely plan to go back.
Delicious food, great service, reasonable prices!
Zesti was amazing as usual. Service is a-one and our entrees were delicious. We had the beet salad, Caesar salad, beef and caramelized onion pizza and lasagna. Every course was yummy. We will be back!
Great atmosphere, love the menu selections with many gluten free acknowledged items. Service is excellent, food divine and the price is so reasonable especially for the quality of the food and preparation!
The spaghetti bolognese is wonderful. Save room for the creme brulee; it is delicious and a good value.
Zesti never fails to provide a wonderful, warm experience. It almost felt like a normal date night!
Great food! Great service too!
We have enjoyed this place on many occasions. The food and service are ALWAYS Top Notch!! HIGHLY recommended!!!
Comfortable & safe enviorment. Fabulous food & service!
Clean, pleasant, friendly. Food is outstanding. This chef really cares about quality! 11/10 will return.
Moms in there early
My fiance and I went to Zesti to celebrate our 2 year anniversary. Our first date was at Zesti. We definitely recommend it. The food is outstanding and the service was excellent. We had reservations for right when they opened so there weren't many people there yet, so it was quiet. We both had the Fettucine Carbonara and it was excellent. Last time we were here, my fiance had the lasagna and thought is was excellent. This is a great place for date night and for having dinner with friends and family. We can't wait to go back!
Service was horribly slow. 40 minute wait just for appetizer. Calamari was greasy and the lamb tasted like dried out chicken. We ended up sending back all of our food and went elsewhere.
The food was excellent and our server was very entertaining.
I enjoy a server that is attentive and not intrusive. She had it down to the right amount of service without being omni present.
Great layout and a very nice menu of both casual and upscale dining choices.
I'm glad we gave Zests a try and my wife and I will defiantly be returning.
