Very good food. The crab pot pie w/lobster bisque shooter was delicious, as was the charred steak w/ blue cheese crumbles and caramelized onions, green beans, and bacon mashed potatoes.
We were celebrating our wedding anniversay and the food was really great. A good variety and our server was really nice as well. I did recommend the restauraunt before I left the building.
Food was expensive and not very memorable. Sitting on the terrace overlooking the river was nice - but not worth the money we paid for the meal!
Typical hotel chain restaurant. Basically okay but nothing special. And, its a shame given its location on the Charles river. A missed opportunity.
My husband and I went the night of the Star Trek convention, so they were fairly busy. I had the duck--overcooked and cold, my husband had the fish of the day--hot and delicous. It was like there were two different chef's in the kitchen. Got the quesidella appetizer to split (very well done-- not overly spicy) --staff were baffled by our request for small plates so we could split it. Bread basket was good--garlic bread and pretzel bread with a honey mustard dipping sauce. Wine was never poured--long wait between courses. We got the cream puffs for dessert--3 mini ones right out of a BJ's/Costco box. Skip that. Great view. My recommendation--go for lunch and enjoy the view.
Great service! didn't even ask for birthday cake and they brought it out with a candle etc.. very nice touch - food very good -- just short of great -- beautiful setting -- am planning on going to the Friday night seafood buffet...
The atmosphere was great and it was quiet for most of our dinner! We had a cozy booth with a perfect view. The food was exquisite, we highly recommend the tortilla soup as well as the Caesar salad--fresh, tasty and served in a very elegant manner. The service was also great, but we gave it four stars only because when ordering an entree from the Light Fare Menu, the waitress seemed very clueless to what it was--she didn't mention that it was a cold entree--which was very relevant. The little exotic waitress we had seemed to smile and even laugh a lot for no reason, but was not very helpful at all--it seemed that she didn't belong there. The other staff made up for her lack of attentiveness so we definitely plan to go back!
It was a holiday weekend and we thought it would be busier than usual at Zephyr for the Sunday Brunch but it was not. We had a great table overlooking the view. Food was good but was more toned down I think due to the holiday weekend--croissants were missing and I thought the prime rib was too rare for my taste. Still we enjoyed the food as usual. I also had made a special request for a small birthday cake for our party of 4. It was fulfilled and my brother was very surprised when the wait staff came over with the cake and sang Happy Birthday to him.
I booked a table at Zephyr for fathers day barbecue brunch. We expected to at least be seated in the restaurant if not on the balcony, but were seated in what felt like the lobby of the hyatt hotel. That worked out just fine because our son could watch the elevators go up and down, and when he ran around it didn't seem to matter since there was so much foot traffic anyway. The waiter he asked us for our drink orders. He quickly brought them to our table and said the barbecue would begin soon and we could eat from the brunch buffet while we waited. We chose to wait, but he didnt tell us when the barbecue had started. We looked for it after 20 minutes only to find that it had been up and running for a while. The food was mediocre at best.
Zephr is on the second floor of the Hyiatt on Memorial Drive...It has a good unobstructed view of the Charles River and huge windows that take advantage of it. Also has outdoor terrace, although it was too cool to try. Both of us had Cobb salads..generous, fresh, nicely presented but not a dish that allows one to say much about the food. Service was excellent - professional, attentive, pleasant. Also - for those who know Cambridge Hotel has parking garage, so one can park in garage and walk inside to the hotel lobby and then take escalator or elevator up. So writing just as a person, not an ADA expert, I would not hesitate to meet a friend who uses a wheelchair here.
A restaurant in the Hyatt on the banks of the Charles, Zephyr's riverside view is very pleasant. The service is wonderful. My husband had the shrimp and vacuumed it up (it was very good!) and I had the chicken which I found rather dry. Bread is brought out at the start and is accompanied by a hot-sweet mustard. Personally, I would have also appreciated herbed olive oil as another option. It was also appreciated that parking is free IF you get your ticket stamped before you leave.
I took my girlfriend for her birthday on a fancy date here. We were both impressed by the views of Boston from across Cambridge. The staff was amazing and deserve every compliment. The food was very tasty and worth every penny. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to make their loved ones feel special!
As usual, we are very happy with the value, food, service & the validated parking.
Great place and wonderful service. We go there on Fridays for their seafood night. I would go there every week if I can afford it! Thier lobster is wonderful and the sea-food in the buffet is great. I loved the clam chouder, the oysters, and the smoked salmon. I would have loved to see at least one type of sashimi-style seafood like tuna added to the buffet, this is my only suggestion to add.
The staff is amazing. We go there maybe once every couple of months and some of the staff continue to remember us from time to time.
excellent, fresh seafood! Great service
For a hotel restaurant it was not bad. The food was good (not great, but pricey (not a good value). However, the wait staff was attentive, and not invasive. The view was great.
i didn't go to this restaurant with high expectations at all after reading many of the reviews and also because its just a hotel restaurant. but i would say i ended up being very satisfied with the experience overall. to start, The freshly baked bread they served was very tasty and some of the best that Ive had. the menu is a bit limited and certainly focus' around seafood but does have a little of everything for everyone. The main course was surprisingly tasty, (I got the duck and my girlfriend the steak) both were cooked exactly how we wanted them. The portions were not enormous but enough to leave you feeling satisfied. not super expensive (around $18-25). dessert was also very good. would be very very nice to eat outside in the summer.
The breakfast buffet was great! Excellent fruit, pastries, eggs, bacon, pancakes, ...
I was not able to get my 100 opentable points.
Was not asked if I had a reservation (seems to have no connection with OpenTable)
Cortesy Appetizer was not immmediately offered.
Food took a long time to be served.
Sandwich came with igredients not listed in the menu (bacon)
the food was very good. the service was just fine. It felt a little too much like a restaurant in a hotel. I was disappointed that it was on the second floor. we still miss the spinniker
We have been to the Friday night seafood buffet before and loved it. They have scaled back quite a lot. The slice of prime rib was half the size it was last time. We were disappointed and may not go back again.
We always enjoy coming here. The food was good and the staff are friendly.
Our server Kemal was impeccable. Beautiful view (we had table at window). Brunch food was good to very good.
Over priced and food was not what was expected.
good service, nice french fry style of calamari
Had a business meeting there (group of 6) and it's a great spot for this type of occasion.
Liked everything about this place. It was great!
It's hard to review since I made a Restaurant Week reservation only to be told the day I went that only a limited/non-Restaurant Week menu was available because the hotel Zephyr is in (Hyatt Regency) had a convention, and the kitchen could only handle a limited sandwich menu. So I didn't get my $15.11 menu, instead I got a $12 sandwich, an $11 salad and an ice tea, as did my companion, and $60 later, we left. So much for Restaurant Week low prices. If they had convention scheduled, they should have BLOCKED Restaurant Week reservations online!!! Instead, we got slammed with inflated 'convention in the house' sandwich prices.
For a $35 brunch I thought the selection was poor and with 2 hours to go until it ended many selections were not replenished. Overall I thought it was a sever disappointment and I would not select it again. i have been to the Mother's Day and Easter brunch and thought it was done well. I would not recommend it for a non-holiday brunch.
We've never had a bad experience at Zephyr on the Charles and that is why we keep going back.
Unfortunately, Zephyr left us more than underwhelmed. The food was mediocre at best, and certainly not worth the price. The highlight of the dinner was the "pretzel bread" and a delicious watermelon purée champagne cocktail (and even that took 20 minutes and was room temprature) The service was slow and the server unattentive. Sadly, definitely not a place we'd go back to...even for the view.
Lovely place to go, staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The menu items were very appetizing, food was amazing and cooked perfectly. Easily accessible and has great views!
So-so food but a very nice venue with great views of Boston across the Charles River. Easy-going and friendly. A relaxed brunch experience.
Came here for lunch and absolutely loved it. The food was great and the service was excellent. It was quiet and relaxing, with an amazing view on Boston.
the personnel and staff were very attentive. Food delicious
and even when a complaint was made the readily fix it!
Zephyr is a great place for business lunch meetings. The salad bar had a lot of options and everything was fresh and tasty. It's not the most creative salad bar, but it's a very good, basic salad bar. The view is outstanding and the ambiance and staff are pleasant.
I had an amazing expierience here the food was perfect the buffet on fridays wonderfull I would recommend this place to everyone ... they treated my 4yr old daughter like a princess braught her everything she wanted...
Hotel Restaurant that doesn't proclaim to be anything else. Decent food at a decent price.
Friday Night Seafood Buffet was very nice. Scenic View, friendly and attentive service, buffet selection for appetizers and salad with choice of dinner. Reasonable Value
I really expected something different it seemed more like any other restaurant that has buffet just that this was very pricey def. not going back
