The selection of salads at lunch, including a build-your-own option, was outstanding. Salad portions were generous, and the staff concocted Russian dressing for me, even though it wasn't a menu option.
We had an excellent dinner with Alyssa serving us tonight. The place was crowded, but the staff went above and beyond to satisfy our requests. We always look forward to returning again soon!
Thanks to excellent management and Chef Kilroy's flexibility and eagerness to please those with a restrictive diet, this is our favorite go to place.
It is also a comfortable place where you can actually have a conversation given the quiet atmosphere.
We enjoyed all dishes ordered - within our group the eggs' Benedict, oatmeal and the fruit plate were all fresh and quite tasty. Fast service and good coffee! Can't ask for more for a breakfast spot.
We enjoyed a great meal with a fantastic view. Make sure to have the watermelon and feta appetizer, it was a highlight! You can't go wrong with anything with lobster on the menu!
We chose this riverside location to host our three coed granddaughters from three different local schools. Appreciated the diverse moderately priced menu and easy free - validated- parking. Food was excellent, if somewhat slow.
When making the reservation we were told that 5:30 was the ONLY available time. We got there and no one was dining no one was Hosting. Furnishings were worn and if the Charles wasn't across the street I would rate the ambiance as horrible. Finally seated after waiting for someone to see we were there an then it took another 15 minutes for someone to approach the table. The menus were oily and dirty and it was then that we decided to have one drink at the bar an go elsewhere. Went to the bar -no bartender was on and we had to wait again. It was as though they were doing us a favor by being there. Would NEVER Recommend to ANYONE. and if you are planning a stay on that area - go across the River to the DblTree!
We had the lobster Cobb salad & the roast duck pizza. Both were wonderful & perfectly cooked. The pretzel bread they serve is soft & flavorful as we'll. Peter, the waiter, was extremely helpful in picking out choices from the menu. He was friendly, attentive, but not overbearing. My husband & I agreed it was one of the best restaurant experiences we have had in a while. Not to mention the view of the water and downtown was fantastic.
My family went to this restaurant because it has a pretty view of Boston. The food was decent, nothing really to brag about except that the bread board they brought us had pretzel rolls on it. Those are my favorite. The service though left something to be desired. I know it is a hotel restaurant but the waitress did not care about us at all. All in the first visit to the table she asked for our drink order, appetizer order, and dinner order. I have been in this business for a long time and that was a huge turnoff. She gave no input about the menu other than to say things were good.
Lamb made the bolognese quite good. Lobster dishes hit the spot for those of us craving New England favorites.
Great menu options! Great burger!
decent food bit overpriced great view
very attentive wait staff
it was a very nice night with breeze which was perfect for sitting outdoors
though close to Memorial Drive didn't even notice any traffic noise
The food is very good but the service is very bad. The waiters kept changing all night and we didn't have a clue which one was our. They tend to forget you exist And you always have to wait a lot to be served .
Conroy, the Chef here is excellent, kind and creative.
We had a very nice lunch with Daniel serving us. Also got a visit from the Chef who created our great dishes.
The place looks very different from the pictures on their website, it's a lot older looking.
However, it does have a nice view of the charles river.
The food looks better than its taste....... way too salty!!!
For the same price, I would've get a LOT BETTER food from Legal Seafood.
What a pleasant find along the Charles. Excellent waitstaff. Portions were large and good was excellent. Parking validation also a plus. Zephyr is on my list of fun places to go on a day trip to Boston.
Zephyr has a nice menu and the food was good, not exceptional. But it is one of the few restaurants with water views outside the seaport. We ate outside; traffic on memorial drive wasn't burdensome and it was fun watching kayaks, pontoons, and a tour boat glide by, as well as watch people biking, walking and running along the river. That was a priority for us on 4th of July weekend, and we enjoyed our dinner very much. Service was attentive and pleasant.
Out of town friends in for 4th of July weekend We made reservations for dinner and to see fireworks Restaurant called me to be sure I knew it would be a buffet rather than regular menu Then they called again the day before since fireworks were changed to a day earlier offering to change reservation to a day earlier too !
We never experienced such consideration for guests Excellent July 4th buffet and wonderful view Fireworks too !
The most outstanding factor was our server. She was pleasant, professional yet friendly.
Another awesome early dinner with Pha serving us over a sunny view of the skyline :)
We went here for dinner and brunch while staying at the Hyatt. The brunch was far better than dinner, but we waited over 30 minutes for our food to arrive. The service was ok, but when we went in the evening the restaurant was FREEEEZING. Both my grandmother and I were terribly cold and although they said they turned it down, I didn't notice it. Food was ok. The sauce on the salmon at dinner was way oversalted, and was not a "lavender" cream sauce at all. I think this place is overrated- I would return for brunch, not dinner.
great setting and good food. the night we were there the staff seemed a little overwhelmed by the traffic, i.e. not enough menus for everybody, like they were not accustomed to this many visitors
Another nice lunch today. One thing to note, the lobby escalator has been out of order often during our past visits... this requires a longer walk for older/handicapped patrons .. :(
Ate dinner in restaurant with out-of-town relatives staying there. Servers and hostess very friendly and accommodating. However, the food fell far short of satisfying. Dinner rolls were served with a spicy honey-mustard sauce but no butter. The relatives had the Seared Scallops and Shrimp entrée and spent a good deal of time trying to identify the "sweet" taste, which they didn't care for. The menu should indicate whatever marinade or sauce is being used. My entrée of Traditional Cobb Salad wasn't bad and had an appealing Lemon Dijon dressing, but the chicken was overcooked. Finally, the condition of the table was not good: it seemed to have dust or grime in a crevice and stains going down the edges that gave an impression of uncleanliness.
Went to Zephyr's for a Mother's Day Brunch. It was excellent!!! Not only was the food quite good but the atmosphere was relaxed with beautiful views of the Charles River and an amazing staff. The staff, from the hostess to the buffet servers to the waiter were the best I have ever experienced in Boston. They went above and beyond. For example, the waiter personally walked my mother-in-law to the bathroom when he could have just pointed the way to her. This was overall the best brunch place I've experienced in Boston.
We had a great lunch on a warm Spring Day at the Zephyr. Pha was excellent as always, and the city view once again makes this the perfect spot.
We didn't know what to expect from this hotel Sunday brunch, and the online menu looked good but not fantastic. What it failed to list was all of the delicious foods on the very extensive buffet. In the end, none of us ordered off the menu. and we had a really great brunch. Plenty of great choices for all of us, adults and kids ranging from 1 to 16 years old. Very nice ambience, good service, and of course a great view of Boston across the Charles. We will certainly be coming back.
The hotel is very tired and the background music was bad. The food was ok.
We went to the Hyatt for Easter Brunch. It was held on the 16th floor so the view was spectacular. We were given a table just for two in the corner by the glass windows so we were delighted to not only have that private spot to ourselves but to also enjoy a beautiful view of the Charles River and the activity around it. There was live music, an Easter bunny for the children, and the ambience was joyful and upbeat. We always enjoyed our holiday brunches at the Hyatt and this was no exception. Wonderful staff and we would return again in a second!
We had a great dinner tonight with Youlee as our server once again. Generous portions left us with plenty to take home :)
Zephyr is a well kept secret, good food with a spectacular view of the Charles. My BFF and I went one Sunday afternoon and enjoyed a quiet meal served by an attentive waiter. I had the fish and chips, fresh fish fried in a light, flavorful batter, accompanied by tasty fries and cole slaw a little light on the mayonnaise for my taste but probably preferred by most. For beverage I selected a Reisling that was surprisingly crisp yet slightly sweet -- delicious. My BFF had a salad large enough to divide in half and take home, topped with grilled shrimp. I'm not sure why the restaurant was half empty but it suited our purpose as we were able to have a long leisurely chat. Validated parking in the hotel for free is a plus!
Breakfast: we ate there twice. The food at the weekend breakfast buffet was excellent, with a nice mix of carbs, fresh made omelettes, fruit, yogurt, etc. If there is a line and you don't mind eating at the bar or at the casual seating, go ahead and seat yourself rather than waiting.
Dinner: I had a lobster cobb salad and my husband had squash soup and a club sandwich. We were happy with the meal.
Would definitely eat there if I was staying at the hotel. I wouldn't come to the restaurant from outside the hotel. There are too many other good options locally.
We ate oatmeal so we were not very demanding food-wise, but the service was great, and the decaf coffee was actually excellent.
We wanted a table by the window. We refused an inside table when we arrived. We didn't expect to wait for an hour. We were waiting by the lounge. The manager came by and offered us water and snack for free while we were waiting. The dinner was good. It was late. We didn't order any desert. The manager came by again at the end to bring us some fruit. We may consider to host our graduation party over there.
Another great lunch today! We love this place, what an awesome value! Keep it this way!!
very accomodating to special diet; excellent food and view and a rare quiet atmosphere.
We enjoyed our sunset dinner at the Zephyr! Youlee was an excellent server!
This restaurant is in the Hyatt and is nothing more than the standard hotel haunt. They have a nice view, if you get near the window, but that really is the extent of their offer (other than being open before 10am on the week-end). The food was nothing like the pictures and servings were (thankfully) small. Coffee is mediocre, albeit plentiful.
Nothing special, but if your stuck in Cambridge, and hungry, it;s open.
They do have a continental buffet choice as well
