Zen Fusion Ratings and Reviews
We have never been disappointed with the food, service, or ambience at Zen Fusion. The fish special this weekend was nicely prepared with jumbo shrimp. The Tapas of garlic shrimp, blue cheese calamari, and the new-to-the-menu octopus were the perfect way to start the meal. Actually, the meal started with a correctly mixed Manhattan on the rocks, not always easy to find in Charlotte.
This place immediately became our favorite spot in Charlotte. There was absolutely nothing that was even remotely bad about Zen Fusion. The food was incredible, making it difficult to not finish every bite. It’s also VERY affordable, making it a great everyday dinner stop or date night. Just wonderful.
We ate here on a Thursday night. Three things were very good...1- 1/2 price cocktails on Thursday night, 2 - our server who did his best and was very good despite the horrible bee sting on his swollen hand, and 2- the tres leche cake which was amazing. The in-between was okay...had two appetizers and two entrees. The appetizers, pot stickers and lettuce cups, were very good but the carne paella(too salty) and the mongolian beef(had no sauce) were so-so at best.
The food was fantastic, I am not picky but thought the octopus was lacking in flavor. It was good just not the wow I was expecting with the ceviche, lamb and scallops that all were phenomenal! The service was great too! Great menu for the wine and tapas week! Thank you for making it worth the money!
Zen Fusion is one of our favorite go-to dinner spots and we were so glad we went there for my husband's birthday dinner on Saturday night! As usual the food was great, the service superb, and dinner overall was fun! We tried the special appetizers for a change from our usual and they did not disappoint. Zen is a place where everyone in our family can find a dish each person loves and have an enjoyable evening out. I especially like the veggie Pad Thai loaded with vegetables as well as the Berenjena Rellena eggplant and spinach dish.
This place is always a hit. Everything is always perfect - the food, the service, etc. I've not been to this restaurant with anyone who's not thoroughly enjoyed their meal. Maria, our server, has been amazing the last several times we have been there - she doesn't rush, yet is attentive and ensures we are taken care of, without being intrusive. Great little restaurant with a good team of folks working there. Definitely recommended.
As usual, Zen's food was of high quality and the service was very good. We were a party of five and our three new guests (first time there) were impressed with food and service. The waiter was new, but handled himself well. We had tapas, shared entrees and shared raspberry cheesecake for dessert. All tasty.
We stopped in on Thursday night to celebrate my birthday and enjoy 1/2 price martini Thursday special. I think our servers name was Rosie. I asked about one of the martinis and she recommended the Ginger O and she was right. It was fantastic and not too sweet. My husband had the manhatten and really enjoyed it as well.
For our meal we had the piquillo , empanadas and potatas bravas for the Mr and kung pao chicken for me. It was all delicious and Rosie was great. Checking in with us regularly but not annoyingly so. I wish the piquillo came with something other than the plain rolls. I could imagine maybe naan with them but I realize that is Indian and nota along the Spanish / Asian fusion theme.
We had a fantastic night and will be back again. (This is one of my top 5 restaurants in Charlotte) Also, the outdoor patio is nice if you can get a seat out there.
