Another lovely apres theatre dinner spent at Zee’s. It’s one of our favourite restaurants in Niagara-on-the-lake. The menu is inventive and the wine list featuring local wines is a great resource for those looking to try some of Niagara’s best. The servers are always prompt & friendly & seem genuinely interested in providing great service. Thanks Kim!
Zees Grill delivered on all counts. The service was friendly and efficient, the food was tasty and well presented and the ambience was just right. It's proximity to the
Festival Theatre makes it an ideal place for lunch before the show. The lunch menu was small but well thought out. My choice was the chicken sandwich with a green salad which kept me going for the rest of the day. I would go there again and I would recommend it to my friends.
The setting was perfect for a Mother's Day brunch. It was a sunny midday on the patio and the protective coverings kept it comfortable while allowing for great views of the garden, the sidewalk and beyond. The service was good and food delivered quickly. Perhaps a more limited menu than some places, but it had exactly what we wanted: Bloody Mary cocktails; Eggs Benedict and Banana Bread French Toast. Delicious.
Breakfast was great .. service was a little slow and they forgot a few things .. but overall would go back again !!
Zees used to have amazing food but our last visit was quite disappointing. The cheese plate had mainly items from what looked to be Costco as compared to the great cheeses they used to serve. All in all it was not what it used to be.
We arrived a bit earlier than our reservation, but were seated right away. The patio and the porch are both lovely locations. There was a light evening breeze which made outdoor dining very enjoyable. My husband had the chicken and I had the swordfish. We both were very pleased with our choices. Food was done as requested. My purple mashed potatoes were delicious. My husband enjoyed his fingerling potatoes. The food is locally sourced and always delicious and attractively presented. Zees is one of our favourite restaurants in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Have stayed at the Inn before so knew dinner there before Théâtre was a must do. Wonderful generous martini suggested by our waiter was Heavenly and then only a short walk to go to the theatre across the road after. Must have a dessert. All as anticipated... an enjoyable experience all round. My girlfriend selected the dessert and it was worth the lbs.
The food was amazing! And the presentation of the food was outstanding!
Zee’s was great. It was a quiet evening on the patio. The staff were very attentive and professional. It was a lovely anniversary dinner.
Really enjoyed Zees Grill. My wife and I were in NOTL for a wine event and wanted to try a place we hadn't been to. Service was fantastic throughout the meal. All of the greeters and servers were very friendly and worked very hard to make our experience a great one. Food was excellent and well presented. We sat on the terrace. There were a few noisy vehicles going by on the street but we weren't that close to the road that it bothered us. All around great experience and we'll be back. Special shout out to Joe, our server, who was fun to chat with, very friendly and was very attentive (in spite of a challenging customer at the next table). Thanks!
Celebrated birthdays! My daughter and I loved the food. Felt a little disappointed when told that since we didn’t order dessert (which would have been complimentary) we’d get our coffee for free. Waiter didn’t communicate that well at all! Also, coffee was cold both times.
Jay, our server, was great.
Always enjoy it there
The food is delicious excellent and I look forward to the new menu
Beautiful restaurant. Excellent food and service. Highly recommend the short rib. Yum! Will definitely go again.
Amazing experience. Food 5*
Lovely atmosphere. Great service. Wonderful food flavours and presentation.
Stayed at Shaw Club ate dinner Friday night and breakfast Sat/Sun morning. Service was top notch and food was phenomenal.
I admit, we were weary after walking in to a very slow restaurant that seemed to be left in the 90s but we were left surprised and satisfied. Our server, Joe, was very laid back and knowledgeable and didn’t think twice when we returned a bottle of wine even after he let us tried it. My husband got the seafood Seafood Pepperdale pasta and I got to duo of duck. His dish was fresh, homemade and hearty and my duck was savory and filling. We will be back. I imagine it was slow because it was off season- but it actually turned out to be a great time to go!
The food was great from the appetizer salad to the entree and the server amazing. The plates & food hot and the flavours to die for.
Zee's Grill was truly a delight. We happened upon a special prix fixe menu the particular night that we went and wow, what a deal! Three courses for $39.00 (we added a fourth one) was awesome! The food was sublime and the portions healthy. Our server "managed" our meal to perfection allowing just the right amount of time between courses. It was a lovely dinner and I would highly recommend this restaurant when in town.
I have been dining at this restuarant for over 10 yrs. This is the first time I have dined inside. Have always dined on their patio in the warmer months. Perfect evening form the service to the food. My only issue was on the reservation when aske dif it was a special occasion I noted birthday (husband) but nothing special was done at the restauramt.
excellent meal, wonderful service. will come again.
Very quiet dining room - we were sat right away. However, after we had placed our order, the waiter sat another table right beside ours - and sat their small toy-breed dog on it's own chair directly next to our table. This dog sat right up at the dinner table with it's owners throughout the entire meal, directly adjacent to where we were seated.
Neither my wife nor I have any problem with dogs in general, but being sat next to a live animal in a dining room for the duration of a three-course meal was not something we would have anticipated in a place that bills itself as a fine dining destination. The waiter explained that the patrons were guests of the pet-friendly part of the hotel, but that (in keeping with health code requirements) the establishment generally does not permit live animals where food is served. He agreed that the situation seemed abnormal, but deferred to hotel staff.
The front desk on the other hand was not even remotely apologetic, and claimed this toy dog in a handbag, sat at it's own chair at the dinner table, was in fact a service animal, whose presence at the table was a medical requirement. A likely story.
Would not return.
Our friends and I had a lovely evening. Waiter was very efficient and friendly. Food was great.
The food was incredible. Great portions. Left with full bellies. Our server Sean was professional, delivered outstanding customer service. We will definitely be back
Just one word "wow" beautiful evening... Amazing food !! Loved our waiter Jay !!!!
Another amazing meal. We were there for fabulicious and it was incredible. Zee's really cares about what they are putting infront of their customers. Food was exquisite! And the service as always was top notch.
Enjoyed our first trip to Zees. Food, atmosphere and service were excellent
Great service by our server - Joe.
Great food .
Good value for your money.
This was a repeat dining experience.
Good location to the theatre .
Excellent from the first greeting to the last morsel
Wonderful ambience and service. The food and wine were excellently paired.
The food was gourmet quality, beautifully served and delicious. The service was excellent and the servers were friendly and helpful. We had an elegant dinner for two - with salmon and duck. Dessert was chocolate creme brulee, with after dinner drinks of Irish coffee and Harvey's Bristol Cream. The next morning, we had a sumptuous breakfast with farm-fresh eggs, fresh fruit and locally made preserves to spread on the delicious whole-grain bread. All-in-all, a great dining experience!
Delicious food, and fairly quiet atmosphere. I would and will go back!
Plenty of options, knowledgeable staff and amazing food.
We went to Zee's for a new year's eve dining experience and it was our first time there. We had a 4 course meal and everything was absolutely delicious and we would definitely go back. The ambiance was cozy and intimate which was perfect for us. Our waiter was professional, knowledgeable and courteous, the salmon bisk, salad and surf and turf were the main stars ... just delicious and well portioned. The start of the evening was a little shaky as we felt ignored by the front desk staff of the hotel and we could have used some assistance as it was freezing cold out, and we didn't know how to get to the restaurant when we got in... but after figuring it out and being seated, the evening got much better. 4/5 experience and that's a good thing ;)
My husband and I live nearby and wanted to do something special for New Years brunch. We had the eggs Benedict and weren't disappointed. Our server was awesome and so was the food.
Phenomenal service and food. Can’t say enough for this restaurant. Will return the next time we’re at Niagara on the lake
Wonderful dinner at Zees. Great food, great ambiance. Waiter friendly as usual.
Although the restaurant was full, it was quiet, without the clatter of dishes and loud voices that often make quiet conversation difficult. The service was friendly and attentive; the food was delicious and beautifully presented. Substitutions due to my allergies were no problem. We’d recommend Zees Grill and will go again.
included in our order was a turkey sandwich; it was terrible. The meat obviously just came out of the fridge. It was cold meat on dry bread. There was little little dressing with poor flavour.
