Super friendly and welcoming staff. Food was very fresh, delicious, and served promptly. Perfect spot for a date night, or just to enjoy some good food and watch the horse-drawn carriages in downtown Niagara-on-the-Lake.
We sat on the veranda/enclosed outdoor area. It was perfect for the outside climate (late summer evening). The staff and food was excellent. The cheese plate had a great selection of local cheeses. The only complaint about the food was that my husband found his steak undercooked for his preference.
Always great. Anna and Jen such lovely, friendly servers. Always a pleasure. Thank you!
Absolutely amazing service, atmosphere and food. Oh the food. Delicious.
Have not had such an enjoyable dining experience in soooooo long. In fact, we enjoyed our time there so much that before we left we booked a room in the hotel for two nights at the end of October.
See you then!
A wonderful dinner, with excellent food and service. The tables indoors are well spaced out for social distancing, raising no concerns about eating indoors. Both the beef carpaccio and smoked salmon were delicate and delicious. The duck and the chicken were well prepared and flavourful. As expected from Zee's, a lovely meal.
We selected outdoor seating when arrived hostess said nope not available. We said we requested out door seating she told us everyone does but you are going to be seated inside. No compassion or any type of explanation we saw a open table and were told no some one else will be seated there. We said we would wait and that that was not an option. All and all just a cold reception.
Our waiter must have been trained in a diner and not a white table cloth restaurant.
The wine arrived (after the soup- which had been spilled) and he handled the glasses by the bowl and not the stems
We received the bill/ paid , then the coffee and later on he came by to ask if we had paid ( really !!)
Only saving grace is the food was excellent
There is a real disconnect between the food quality and the server
With their prices, one would expect better experience
Food was pretty good, although it was VERY expensive. The service was great, but VERY slow. Also, we sat outside and there was consistent noise that took away from the experience.
They have an excellent selection of Niagara wines and the perfect location before a performance at The Festival Theatre.
Amazing food and spectacular service. The staff were really friendly and our server Sean was superb. Definitely coming back for another special evening out.
Love Zees ,unfortunately cannot reserve verandah outside ,but covered and has heating if needed ,think in Covid ,it would be greatly appreciated to know a table is guaranteed .
We went for lunch. The food looked very nice but several items lacked seasoning. We had the caprese salad which desperately needed salt and pepper. My Cajun shrimp tacos were very bland . The tomato soup and the apple Brie grilled cheese were ok. The French fries were delicious and nicely salted. We had high hopes for the restaurant. Service and location was great but the food was sadly not.
The staff was great and the food was a delight. My only complaint would be their coffee. Just too weak for my liking... buts that’s me being petty.
We had a terrific experience at Zee's. Food was great on a beautiful evening for the patio.
Nice location across from the Shaw Festival. I had the confit duck which I found a bit dried out. My companion had a dead on medium tenderloin...said it was perfect. Sides were nice but someone must have dropped a salt shaker in the veggies.
Desert.. delicious. Great service.
We had the beef tenderloin and the pork chop with potato hash - Caesar salad and smoked salmon - we have had this a few times before in the summer and really liked it - this time - so bad - there was only half the portions for appetizers - beef tenderloin rubbery - my potato hash - greasy and had one small potato piece - the rest was onions and some greasy ham pieces - the bread that came to table was burnt on top and could not be eaten - we returned it and the next bread was better - carrots not cooked and the green beans over cooked - As i mentioned - this was like a totally different experience than before - we were there Sept. 16, 2021 at the 5 pm .
We'll definitely return to this restaurant. One lady recommended Pork Belly & this piqued my curiosity so we ordered the dish. To our delight, it was delicious. I wont eat it Everyday but it was worth the try. Today we had Apple & Brie, the combo was easy on the palate & surprisingly very tasty.
Family get Toby
MY WIFE HAD THE SHRIMP TACO AND I HAD THE TURKEY SANDWICH. WE ALSO SPLIT THE SALAD. EVERYTHING WAS TASTY AND WE ENJOYED THE COMFORTABLE OUTDOOR ENCLOSED PATIO
Wonderful dinner at Zee’s - our server Kim was funny and friendly! Food was wonderful and our table couldn’t have been in a nicer spot!
Booked Zees for our anniversary dinner. The ambiance was delightful, the service very good, and the food was excellent.
I had the steak tenderloin and my wife had the Risotto. Both were tasty and the portion size generous. There was no room for dessert.
This is a great place for special occasions (i.e. not casual dining) or for a pre-show dinner (the Shaw Theatre is right across the street).
Great service and amazing food. We had e char and it was so good.
The location to the Festival Theatre was perfect, especially for my elderly Mother with a walker, but I thought it was a little expensive for basically a sandwich and coffee.
First vacation with my fiancé in a long while. We really enjoyed the food, everything was spectacular!
It was our 46th wedding anniversary and we were greeted with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine. I ordered the filet medium rare and my wife ordered the Arctic Char. When my steak arrived it was cooked medium well but well presented as was the Arctic char. I proceeded to eat the steak and finally our waitress Laura came by and asked how the meal was. She saw that the steak was overdone, and offered to bring a new one, but by that time I had eaten most of the original and my wife had almost finished her Arctic Char. Laura approached the manager and the steak was removed from the bill. I wasn't really too upset over this as restaurants are having trouble being adequately staffed just now and I thought that the situation was dealt with satisfactorily. The Arctic Char was really good. I would happily return to Zee's.
We were there on a busy Sunday afternoon. We were seated on the veranda. The staff was friendly and food was great (although they were out of Zees Fries)!
I really enjoyed the ambiance of the terrace!! Lots of gorgeous flowers. The service was good! The pulled pork poutine was average. I was disappointed with the lack of the amazing taste which fresh French fries provides. That said, I will return to the restaurant in the Fall.
We ate dinner and breakfast at Zee's. Excellent food and service. It's not cheap and portions aren't huge but the quality is top-notch.
We have dined here many times and always enjoy the food. Service is excellent
My wife really liked her surf and turf. I thought my chicken supreme with pesto might have the pesto underneath, then later I decided it must be inside, but no, it just wasn't anywhere. Any chef can make a mistake but this one is pretty glaring given the price point of the restaurant. And they did not adjust the bill.
The vegetable portions of both dishes were pretty creative. Jenn, our waitstaff, was quite good.
So I would recommend to a friend but with caution to be sure you got everything you ordered.
Convenient, comfortable personable, and delicious.
It was a nice dinner served in a friendly atmosphere with good service!
Our first time out in quite a while and couldn't have made a better choice. Beginning with the server it was a wonderful experience. Great wine and food, all in all a perfect dinner out.
Food was fine, but not for $40-50 per plate. I added "surf' to my "turf", it ended up being 2 shrimp for an extra $10 and they were over cooked. The beef tenderloin was fine, but at $50 for a small piece it should be.
We had a delightful meal at Zee's following a wonderful play at the theatre next door.
Trevor our server was very helpful, with great suggestions, and accommodating with our special requests.
The food was fantastic, and I very much recommend their Caesar Salad - it's a must have everytime!
Our mains were delicious, and the portions were generous, highly recommend the pork chop as well!
The drink menu is quirky and fun, and we're always eager to try their new inventions!
Desserts were decadent and the perfect finish to a perfect meal!
The ambiance on the veranda is tranquil and lovely, and the staff is always eager to help.
Zee's is an experience Not to be missed while in Niagara On The Lake!
Delicious dinner, our server was so friendly and professional. Thank you for exceptional service
If you are looking for a spot to eat before a show at the Shaw Festival, this place is perfect! Quick and friendly service, tasty dishes and right across the street from the festival theatre
We were celebrating my wife’s 55th birthday and made it very clear on the reservation. The hostess mentioned nothing and neither did our sever Jenn. The patio was full and they did not want to entertain us waiting for an open spot. Rather the message was clear to sit and enjoy the table they selected for us. At the end I did fill out the survey card with my name and email address. Never heard back from them. Not what I would expect for fine dining. Lots of better alternatives in NOTL for the same price.
The salmon appetizer was excellent as was the Arctic char. The beef carpaccio was good, but seemed like it was missing some acidity. Surf and turf beef was really good. The prawns were okay. Service was prompt, pleasant and efficient, which we appreciated! Would definitely come back again.
