Very few vegetarian options. We ordered the artichoke heart, burnt pasta, penne suprema and 4 cheese trottole pastas.
Only the burnt pasta was okay. The artichoke heart had a lot of stuffing, the suprema sauce was too runny and the 4 cheese trottole wasn’t any good either.
Excellent food with generous portions to take home, very reasonably priced wine list, not hurried, a bit loud but fun on a Saturday night!!
Zeal is great as always. Service was a little under what we normally experience but didn’t detract from a great meal.
Great service. Our waiter, Jimmy, was also a sommelier so was able to suggest a fabulous wine, and gave us tips on our dinner selections. I ordered the lollipop lamb chops and my friend ordered the pine nut encrusted scallops, both were delicious, although I made the mistake of ordering mine medium...should have ordered medium rare. Jimmy came back to ask our opinions about the wine selection, as well as the food, and seemed to genuinely be interested in our opinions, asking further questions to our responses. It never felt like an intrusion, and when my friend and I were in a serious conversation he never interrupted. They do have live music, at least on Fridays, and it did get a bit louder, but did not effect our conversation. Quite enjoyable, and I would recommend and go back.
We have been wanting to try Zeal for a very long time. My husband's dad was friends with the owner and loves his old restaurant as well. I booked it for Valentine's Day and could not be more happy that I did. The food was amazing!! Every bite was bursting with flavor. The wine was exactly what I was craving with each note bouncing independently off my palate. Service was really good and they had live music. I will definitely be back, soon!!
Lauren was very helpful and attentive.
We enjoyed our visit.
Surf and turf was perfect.
We opted out of our table seats to stay for the bar dining , with a good duet singing Greg songs on a Valentine’s Day , the bar tender ( forgot his name) was first class and made the evening special- food was excellent, finished with some dancing , and excellent wine!
The atmosphere was fine. The service was fine. The food was terrible. The chicken francaise over angel hair pasta had no taste. It was bland and seemed to have been microwaved. The scallops had no taste with poor seasoning. It was our second and last time at this restaurant.
My date and I spent an evening dining at the bar. While I took a restroom break the bartender was extremely inappropriate toward my girlfriend prompting her to leave me for him. While I'm not concerned she would take him up on the offer it put a damper on the evening to say the least. I would recommend if you dine at Zeal you stick with a high top or grab a regular table, avoid the leach.
Excellent appetizers and entree. The staff was great and Vince (owner) spent some time with us talking about the menu - outstanding.
Everything was very good but we missed the menus that light up. Actually, that was the reason we decided to come to your restaurant.
Let’s be frank. We had an 8 pm reservation. We were seated at 8:15. We ordered a cocktail and a cheese board appetizer right away. The drinks came within five minutes. They brought us the oil for bread dipping at 8:45, but no bread. The server didn’t take our food order until 9:00. The bread came at 9:15. The cheese board came within 10 minutes after the bread. We were pleased with the cheese board spread, but the service was unacceptable. For entrees, we ordered lamb chops at medium rare temp and a fish dish called bacala. The fish came in about 10-15 minutes and was a surprisingly delicious treat. The lamb chops arrived about 10 minutes later and they were served to us well done. This was a huge disappointment. We actually told the waitress that this was our first and last time at this restaurant. She apologized and comped the lamb chops. Then she told us that the kitchen was short-staffed and began to tell us the personal problems the head chef was enduring. To try and make things right, the waitress gave us a $50 gift card. To be honest, some of the food was good but some was substandard. The specials board was illegible, the restaurant wasn’t super clean (even had gnats and other bugs inside), it was way too loud, the serving time was WAY too slow, and the over cooked lamb was criminal, especially for the price. The waitress was very sweet and did her best to accommodate and try to make up for the poor experience. We’re actually giving the gift card away and will not be coming back.
didn't not feel as upscale as it used to. There were no white table cloths anymore just the wood table not light up menus and more light in the restaurant.
This is a wonderful restaurant to enjoy a fabulous meal with excellent service and a beautiful environment. The chef is attentive, and creatively designs the best options. I highly recommend this restaurant. We enjoyed a three hour dinner and felt very welcomed.
Very accommodating. Chef Vince made a dish that we requested that wasn't on the menu. It was outstanding.
Several of us went to Zeal for lunch to celebrate a teammate's 5-year service anniversary. We all lived it! Great food, excellent service, and great value.
We were celebrating my friend's birthday. A large gift-wrapped present was on the table, it would have been a nice gesture if the waiter had brought a scoop of ice cream or something at the end of the meal! But not a deal breaker.
I would call the menu Midwest comfort food. My friend and I shared a 1/2 meatball salad. Loved it! Would return to enjoy that for lunch.
Good food at a reasonable price.
Food was awesome and the band playing in the bar was fantastic! Service was great!
Food is nothing great. Its edible. But price is high for that.
Food was delicious and our server, Gary was a pleasure.
