Authentic and artful Provencale and Tuscan cuisine, complemented by a perfect balance of market fresh California stylings. Part of the menu offers classic dishes, the other rotates innovative, seasonal fare.
Zazou, Víctor and friendly staff have been a wonderful part of our dining nights for many years. We will miss this gem of a restaurant but excitedly anticipate the opening of the new restaurant. Guy et al have never disappointed.
overall zazou is fine but the restaurant is closing at the end of august
Closing the next day for a revamp - which it desperately needs! Used to be a great restaurant - hoping it can re-open and be what it once was...
Great food, drink and service! A gem of a restaurant in Riviera Village
It did not disappoint. The food was good. Worth a return visit.
They are closing at the end of the summer and have a Prix Fix menu that is a good value. My wife had crab cakes, chicken and chocolate bread pudding. I had eggplant and shrimp/carrot gnocchi with creme brulee. All well done with great service. Thanks.
Another great meal from Zazou. We had great service. My wife had the short rib and I had chicken au poiver. Both our favorites and cooked to perfection. The fries with the chicken are a great accompaniment. Thanks again.
Been here 4 times over 4 years and never disappointed. Had a variety of dishes and it has always impressed.
Not a large place. Nothing at the beach is so get a reservation jik.
We all had something different and the entrees were all terrific (filet mignon, Amalfi Pasta, Jalapeño Pesto Pasta). The Brie and Bulb appetizer was recommended by our waiter and it was excellent! We would highly recommend it!
Service was attentive. Held reservations, which could have been due to the fact that Zazou was 80% empty on a Friday night.
The price didn't match the quality of the food, which was extremely disappointing, especially for a birthday dinner.
We ordered the Mediterranean salmon dish which was courteously re done because it was served cold.
The filet was low quality meat, but cooked perfectly medium rare. It was served with french fries, which were not terrible in an of themselves, but AWEFUL in a $38 steak dish.
Bread pudding was ok.
The food was excellent. Our party enjoyed the Monkfish and the Bone Marrow pasta. Guy's famous bread pudding was as good as ever.
Food great--especially the octopus, bursts and prosciutto, and the wild boar pasta.
The restaurant was good just not great. Very expensive; ice tea was "fountain". Service was SO slow due to an onslaught of people. Waiter was nice; ambience nice; I was so cold.
I was late for Mother's Day reservations so it wasn't my first pick, but Zazou ended up being a wonderful choice for celebrating my wife on Mothers Day. Excellent Bloody Mary's to start, fantastic brunch selections and helpful + consistent service we're up to the Mother's Day brunch expectations!
We were a group of 6, who had not seen one another in 11 years. We were accommodated perfectly, and not rushed when our dining experience continued beyond 11pm. Thank you, Zazou!!
I have been to Zazou many times over the last several years but last night was just average. The service was very good but the food was just ok. I ordered the scallops- and the little muscle was on all of the scallops. Culinary school 101. Such a sloppy preparation of the scallops. The cauliflower was mushy and the purée was not hot. My friend had the monkfish and she was disappointed. Another friend had the short ribs- they were delicious but presentation???? A pile of potatoes, veg and meat- can't you do better than that?
Sadly, I will probably not come back to this restaurant which has great memories for me. It send like the kitchen just doesn't care.
Local vibe, good wine selection, friendly servers. I ordered a Thai Salad with steak, medium rare. The cut of beef was not very good, and they served it bleu. Would go back for drinks maybe. There are a lot of options in the area.
I met a friend for dinner and had a great meal. I had the fish and she had the boar ragout. Both were well prepared with great flavor. We said we would look at the dessert menu...which we did and ended up with a chocolate bomb that was great.
The dinner was with special friends from the UK and the service was great. The waiter made several great recommendations for our appetizers. We ordered every one of his recommendation but the octopus and shrimp on toast were the best! Don't forget to order desert as the tiramisu was delicious. All in all, the evening was wonderful.
I've been to Zazou on several occasions and this was a date night with my wife. Dependably good food. Nice atmosphere and easy to talk. Always good professional yet personal service. They didn't disappoint and we love The Tiramisu!
One of our favorites. Gracious, attentive host. Friendly, attentive waitstaff. Outstanding, fairly priced menu. What more can you ask?
One of the dishes had a lot of red pepper flakes in it and it was not listed on the menu as spicy or even that it contained red pepper. That was a disappointment. The food was good but it had been a long time since our last visit and it was not as good as we remembered. The prices seem to have gone up a lot to andcthe value was just not there.
We arrived early so not very crowded. The server was friendly and the service was good. Food was also good.
I always enjoy dining here. Food never disappoints.
Entre portions were extremely small and needed seasoning. Cocktails were expensive and did not live up to their descriptions. Service was extremely slow and unapologetic.
The food was over priced. Too much for the bree chease and bread. It was the same price as the clams?? The filet mignon. While the meat was tender, it had absolutely no flavor. Think Prime has by far a better filet.. Service was slow.. The bus boy said it was unusually busy so I won't hold that against them.
We've been to Zazou several times and know the food is always good quality. This night it seemed they were in over their heads a bit. We waited 30 minutes past our reservation for a table to open up. The bread, for which there is a charge was slow to come out of the kitchen. My wife's steak was cold when delivered. Once that was remedied, all was good, but took some effort to get there. Assume this is a one off experience.
Service was painfully slow. Are waiter was not very friendly. Way too noisy. Food was fine but
We won't be back
We have been coming to this restaurant for years and were happy to find excellent service and food for an early Valentine dinner!
We always enjoy our time here and lick the plates :)
Food is always good. Very consistent year after year.
First the service was good. The food portion were small and over priced.
Excellent evening. The grilled octopus & Thai salad with beef were delicious. We plan to go back to try the Moroccan salmon.
Alway love dining here and last night did not disappoint. Lots of different items on the menu that you don't find at other restaurants. We split the polenta-delicious and the beet salad. I also had the French Onion soup-it hit the spot and my husband had Duck Legs and he loved them. We decided spur of the moment and luckily we were able to get in. Can't wait to go back!
I am not from the area, so I relied on web reviews and the general vibe of Zazou's website in choosing to book a business dinner there. It was completely underwhelming. The restaurant was virtually empty when I arrived just before 7 p.m. in advance of my guests, but no one greeted me as I entered. In fact, one employee looked directly at me, turned, and walked into the back without so much as acknowledging me with a "Hi, someone will be with you in a minute."
Service was generally pleasant, but our server seemed disinterested in attending to us over the course of the meal--in spite of the fact that we were virtually the only patrons in the place. Entrees were adequate, dessert was nice enough, but tables were bare (counter to the photos showing full linens, suggesting a more upscale experience for dinner) and presentation was lackluster. Further, we got the impression that staff wanted to close up early, and that impression was reinforced when the lights went up a bit and music shifted to thrashy, loud rock around 8:30 p.m. in spite of dinner hours posted as 5 to 10 p.m. Mind you, our party of 5 had an average age of 55--not exactly the headbanger demographic.
I travel to the area fairly regularly for business, but I will not be returning to Zazou for business dinners. The experience was not on par with the level of quality my organization delivers.
Never fails with great food and service. Always fresh with great flavor.
Love to dine at Zazou, typically on a Saturday night. We enjoy sitting at a table by window. Had the special duck which was outstanding. Short ribs is consistently great. Bread pudding is outstanding along with tiramisu.
Always a solid choice for us: Good food, service & drinks. When you get tired of all the foodie "noise" around the South Bay, come here for consistently good food without the pretense.
We love this neighborhood bistro.
Wonderful food, great service. Staff was very helpful. Manager assisted getting my wife, who is disabled, into the restaurant and seated.
As always wonderful. The only problem is that they do not have a restaurant in Florida. I recently moved from California to Florida.
