Zarletti - Mequon Ratings and Reviews
The meal was fantastic, every course we had was fresh and delicious. An extensive wine selection and craft beer, partnered for a perfect meal. The service was friendly and engaging. One of the best pizzas we have ever had and the story behind the oven was fun to hear. This was our first time eating at Zarletti, but it will definitely not be our last. Highly recommend this gem on the Northshore.
Our server Evan was extremely accommodating and very pleasant. We arrived early to add 2 to the reservation and the restaurant was basically wide open, our alternate table turned out to be just fine, however the reaction to change was comical. Only negative aspect to my meal was the cake was frozen which made it hard to enjoy the chocolate ganache center.
Service was good but the food and wine were the worst we have had after eating there over 20x in the past few years. For the fourth time in a row they didn’t have the wine I wanted off their wine list. We joked when we placed the order as they are always out of whatever we want.
Food was really bad. We ordered the special rabbit ragu which we love but it came out paste. It was clearly reheated. The sauce had no flavor. The noodles were a gummy paste. It was off putting. The eggplant parm was more of the same. The noodles were gummy with no flavor. They must not salt the water? The eggplant was decent but the sauce again had no flavor.
Excellent food for a late night dinner. Nice wine selection, excellent pheasant ragu, very nice spicy sausage over pasta and delicious chocolate cake for desert. Wait staff was very nice and attentive. Ambiance was very nice as well considering the type of location. Easy to get to, also. Highly recommended. The seasonal/occasional wild boar ragu is also fantastic.
I believe Open Table lists meals at Zarlettis at 30.00 or less. The menu is ala carte, though. So if you want a salad or soup that is more. I think the chopped salad that we ordered was $13.00! So kind of expensive for a pretty disappointing meal.
I ordered the salmon. While there were Italian spices on the fish, it was very poorly seasoned. Salt, people! Use salt! And it was quite fishy. Not fresh at all. The mashed potatoes were really gluey and too wet. Just a splat on a plate.
My son ordered a diavolo pizza that came out too soggy to even attempt to eat with his hands.
My husband had a ravioli dish that he didn’t really comment on. But he will eat gas station sushi.
Now this might seem picky, but I ordered herbal tea when we arrived, and the water wasn’t hot enough to brew the tea. I might have ignored that if the rest of the meal had been spectacular, but the tepid water just added to my frustration. They couldn’t even boil water!!
I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent service and pleasant surroundings. I had been disappointed in the service at other times when I was there and the noise level made it hard to carry on a conversation. This visit was different in that the waitress, Tracy, was very good and very helpful and the noise level seemed to be much better than other times (perhaps the location of the table). The food was excellent and all of us were very happy with our orders.
Always good food but service is spotty and the atmosphere is just cold and sterile. We love the food and it is a great place for decent Italian and Pizza. It could just be so much more if they put a little more into it. Everyone just seems to be going through the motions. I would say the same about their downtown location. No longer a top spot.
Both the lemon chicken and eggplant Parmesan we’re HEAVILY breaded and we would not get them again. Flavor was good.
One of our guests got the meatballs and said they were too spicy and one of our guests commented that the linguine was over cooked. All in all, not an impressive first visit! The bread was delicious!
I was with a group of 6 and we had excellent service from our waitress. I ordered the special of butternut ravioli which was probably 6 pieces. That was all that came with meal and it was $21.00! I had no clue it was so expensive and definitely not worth it!
Very over priced!
Very Noisy and when we asked for another table, hostess said "none available". Later before we were served, one opened up exactly the same size as ours. I politely asked if we could move, and hostess said she'd check, but never came back to respond. I've been there when it was less crowded (and no Badger game on TV), and thought it was better. The food only average, so I'd never go again at dinner on a weekend. If you can't talk to each other at a 4 top, it's really not worth the hassle.
Went on a Monday evening for my birthday, was greeted promptly upon arrival and the service was spot on throughout the meal. Ordered the shrimp linguini, which was good but the shrimp were a tad more done than I prefer. We shared a bottle of wine And a caprese, both which were delicious. Server offered a complimentary dessert for birthday but we were both too full to indulge. Would go back, not exceptional but certainly was yummy!
We made reservations for brunch with our daughter and her friends to celebrate her 16th birthday. When we arrived, we asked to be seated outside rather than in the dining room where they had us set up and the staff was very accommodating. Our server, Larry, was polite and had a wonderful sense of humor. We thoroughly enjoyed our brunch, the food was exceptional and the setting was lovely. It was the perfect spot for our quiet morning celebration!
Was very disappointed with the slow service at this restaurant with only half of the tables occupied.
Food was not of the quality nor quantity to justify the prices charged.
My dinner of Ravioli was totally covered and saturated with a butter sauce. Definitely not worth the price.
My husband and I dine here a few times each year - I seem to like it better each time. This time, I had the fish special - swordfish and asparagus - it was REALLY good; I'm a really fussy fish eater, so I was a bit cautious. My husband had veal marsala and loved it, too. I really like their outdoor patio and fireplace, too.
Food was good. Service was poor. We waited for almost 10 minutes with menus in front of us and no water before our waitress appeared offering no apologies. She continued to be inattentive throughout the meal. We will return as long as she is not our server.
