Zambri's Ratings and Reviews
In my opinion the chef in the kitchen should get a raise.
The food as well the service was AA+.
There are not much restaurants around with the this quality of food.
The prices are just a little little to high but because the food was original and delicious, no problem I ll pay for it.
Thanks for your service
See you soon
Zambri's is one of Victoria's top restaurants. It is Italian style -- more true to Italy, with it's traditional course structure of antipasti, primi, etc, than your typical Italian-American pasta place. It is sophisticated fine dining which adapts well to romantic dinners for two, to bigger groups and everything in between.
The food was average when I had heard great. Service was mediocre. Had a bottle of Perseco and when it was finished the waiter just took the empty one away. We were going to have another but changed our mind. Bad sales tactic. With the amount of great restaurants In Victoria I will not come back.
I had pizza and it was delicious but my husband had the pasta of the day and found it too spicy (the menu didn’t indicate this) and he felt sick afterwards. I wish the bread came with dipping oil or butter, it’s too dense in its own. The location is very nice and the servers are excellent.
Right from the moment you walk in the door you fell welcome. The friendly and professional staff greet their long standing clients with a hug. The drinks are simple but perfectly done and the wine list follows suit... short but perfectly chosen. The food is outstanding and Chef Peter Zambri tours the restaurant making sure everyone is enjoying their meal. Overall a lovely evening out!
The food was incredible, we ordered the tasting menu and every course was outstanding! Our server did a fantastic job, knew the menu (And wine menu) well, had perfect timing with the delivery of each course. I will definitely be returning, this is one of the nicest meals / experiences I have had in a long time!
I really needed a nice healthy tasty meal and nice atmosphere and nice people. Ive been sick and needed to treat myself and I was happy I picked Zambri's. I felt better because I was there.
Thank you for keeping up on all aspects of your business especially the local healthy choices.:)
We've been going to Zambri's for special occasions ever since it was in the little strip mall behind London Drugs. It was an amazing find back in the days when Vancouver Island had few good Italian restaurants. And even now, in its more sophisticated location at the Atrium on Yates, the quality and authenticity continue to impress us. The prices are too steep to consider it for everyday dining, but for a special meal that takes us right back to La Bel Paese, Zambri's is always our first choice. Perfetto, come sempre.
I am going there for many years, use even to go where they were before. The food is always excellent but it is the first time that I had a very bad service.Starting from the beginning went I walk in.I arrive at 5.15 for my reservation and they were only two table occupy.I ask the hostess if I could be sitting at the table for two in the front window. She refuse mentioning that they keep it for 7PM in case they need it to add another table beside if they need it for 4 people...the place was empty and when you are eating alone there is no way that I will still be there at 7...Then the guy came to ask me if I came there before, when I told him yes and many time he told me then you probably know already what you want, also I order immediately my meal and a glass of wine.I saw him one more time when he brought me the wine and never saw him again. He was to busy to be talking always to the other table of 3 .Never came to see if I like my food or offer another glass of wine. But then like usual it is somebody else who brought the food and then another guy came when I finish to eat my plate to ask me if I need something else and then brought me the addition.Again not offering another glass of wine..May be that was the one who originally was supposed to take care of the table but I don't know he never introduce himself or mention hat he will be the one to take over my table.I will definitively go back for the quality of the food but I think if I am great it again like I was the last time I will just walk out or ask to see the manager...
Although the service was lovely and the food great, there was no pizza left by the time we ordered. The biggest complaint I have however was the sound. I had a VERY RARE night out without my loud children, and unfortunately there was one woman(guest) who was loud beyond reason. Beyond words, actually. Even though she was on the other side of the resto, she ruined our experience. It was impossible to talk together. The waitstaff and other guests were aware, but did not ask her to be more respectful. As this was my one night out for a long time, it was very disappointing.
We asked by phone if they could accommodate vegan and they said they could. But they could not! We ordered an appetizer of cherry tomatoes which we had to return because they were covered with olive oil, no problem for most but definitely for a vegan. When we asked what entrees they could alter to be vegan, we got a reluctant response, saying that removing certain non-vegan ingredients would ruin the dishes. The point is we were assured by phone that they 'serve a lot of vegans' which seemed a fib at first hand. I found my pork dish (I'm the non-vegan) sort of acceptable but not $30 worth of wonderful. By the time they offered to alter another dish or create a new one for my vegan niece, she was tired of the jousting and ordered a simple pasta with tomato sauce. Disappointed in what was supposed to be a special Thanksgiving dinner.
Zambris is consistently excellent. The crispy pork shoulder is a gem, as is their beef striploin.
The wine selection is nice. I'm not too well versed in wines, but they rotate the list fairly often and each time I get something, it's very good. Much better than I'd normally expect.
The front staff is far away from the canned 'Hi my name is Steve and I'll be your server tonight' sort of stuff, and far more personable, intuitive, and on top of things. They're great.
I think you'll enjoy virtually any food or drink there. It's very underrated in Victoria (at least amongst people I know).
Had a great dinner with my mom and girlfriend. They were a bit dealyed in seating us but the food and wine were amazing! The restaurant is a bit noisy but I think it adds to the ambiance and feel they are going for. Would definitely come back again for a special occasion if some kind.
Everything was excellent!!! Food, setting & service were tremendous! Received wonderful suggestions that were delicious. We were able to visit and enjoy eating without being hurried. Service was attentive but not intrusive. A marvelous experience. If we ever return to Victoria this will be our first stop.
This is a favourite local Italian spot for us. On our last visit, the bread, olives, and food were excellent as always. The noise level was almost too high for conversation - installing a noise cancelling machine would go a long way to making the room comfortable. The only other problem we had: we wanted 1/2 litre of red wine. And the place was out of nearly all of them! We settled for one they had, and it was nice enough, but come on, this is an Italian restaurant! Red wine should be flowing from the taps!
Knew Zambri's before it moved to the Atrium as great food, for great dollar value, in funky self-serve, informal setting. Meal at last sitting was very ordinary for price. Location is interesting for people watching, but restaurant atmosphere itself borders on pretentious. Lost it's soul.
