Zambri's Ratings and Reviews
Zambris is consistently excellent. The crispy pork shoulder is a gem, as is their beef striploin.
The wine selection is nice. I'm not too well versed in wines, but they rotate the list fairly often and each time I get something, it's very good. Much better than I'd normally expect.
The front staff is far away from the canned 'Hi my name is Steve and I'll be your server tonight' sort of stuff, and far more personable, intuitive, and on top of things. They're great.
I think you'll enjoy virtually any food or drink there. It's very underrated in Victoria (at least amongst people I know).
Had a great dinner with my mom and girlfriend. They were a bit dealyed in seating us but the food and wine were amazing! The restaurant is a bit noisy but I think it adds to the ambiance and feel they are going for. Would definitely come back again for a special occasion if some kind.
Everything was excellent!!! Food, setting & service were tremendous! Received wonderful suggestions that were delicious. We were able to visit and enjoy eating without being hurried. Service was attentive but not intrusive. A marvelous experience. If we ever return to Victoria this will be our first stop.
This is a favourite local Italian spot for us. On our last visit, the bread, olives, and food were excellent as always. The noise level was almost too high for conversation - installing a noise cancelling machine would go a long way to making the room comfortable. The only other problem we had: we wanted 1/2 litre of red wine. And the place was out of nearly all of them! We settled for one they had, and it was nice enough, but come on, this is an Italian restaurant! Red wine should be flowing from the taps!
Knew Zambri's before it moved to the Atrium as great food, for great dollar value, in funky self-serve, informal setting. Meal at last sitting was very ordinary for price. Location is interesting for people watching, but restaurant atmosphere itself borders on pretentious. Lost it's soul.
Let me start by saying that our Caesar salad was the most awesome tasting freshly made delight we've ever had the pleasure of eating. The bread and olives are also exceptionally delish! But our entrees were so plain and truly lacked much flavor -- always a disappointment but even more so when there's a fairly hefty pricetag. Lastly, we looked forward to having polenta -- which we asked to come without sauce. It's such a delicate flavor we were again deeply disappointed when it arrived drowned in brown butter which truly overwhelmed it even after pouring off as much as possible.
We had a great meal at Zambris! The food was amazing and we had great service. We were seated at a private, quiet table as I had mentioned in my reservation that it was our anniversary. My only complaint is that it took a long time for us to be seated even though we had a reservation! We reserved for 6:30 and weren't seated until around 7.
We wanted a great night out with good atmosphere and delicious food as we had some family in town from Toronto for a brief visit. They absolutely loved Zambris and remarked that there was nothing comparable in Toronto. Our server was kind enough to take a picture of the group of us at the end of the evening, too. Zambris never disappoints. See you again soon!
I was looking forward to the seafood special but was informed they were out of mussels and clams so I ordered the filet mignon"medium rare". Which was cooked well done so I sent it back. The replacement was fine. They also didn't have the wine we ordered . My wife ordered the rockfish which I found to be overly salty. They did comp us a salad for apologies sake. Not a very impressive anniversary dinner to say the least but we will most definitely remember it.
The service was great, our waitress was helpful and available but didn't linger. The food exceeded my expectations, was homemade and original.
The only room for improvement, and this is just my personal option, a few more selections on the wine list would make it a 5 star all around. What was on the list was great, it was just that they were out of a few so the choices were more limited.
Over all great experience and I will be back.
Zambris is a nice treat for before the movies. It is across the street from the newly renovated Cap6 and the view street parkade close by makes it easy to find parking(free after 6pm). The food here has never failed to impress and they have a knack for making the simplest dishes delicious. Their negrinos are better than what I could find in Italy, so it goes to show that you dont need to travel aboard for authentic Italian.
Recommended by the desk clerk at out hotel who even made the reservation for us. Great call. We had the 4-course shared special with the spaghetti aglio y olio and the chicken. The spaghetti was spicy, perfect for me, but perhaps a bit too much for my wife. The chicken was good, very black peppery and enjoyable. Across the board the staff was very friendly and enjoyable to interact with. There were some large groups, including children, when we were there so the noise level was a little high, but I don't know how common that is.
Had the Il Quattro four course dinner for two. Server was great, personable and friendly. Service was amazing and timely, and the food was phenomenal. Chef's feature special of rabbit was a real treat, shame its not on the menu as we would return solely for the one dish. Will be returning many times until we've tried the whole menu. 10/10
We took our Italian friend to Zambri's for his 60 th birthday celebration. He loved everything about it. Right off the bat, he was excited to see a Venetian cocktail on the menu which we all tried and enjoyed (he is going to back to live in Venice for six months).
The food was delicious and interesting and very satisfying. Our server was a gem. Just an all-round lovely dining experience!
Restaurant is good, food is tasty but portions are to small, if you are hungry it's probably not worth it coz it's quite expensive, but if u are looking for nice snack this is right place. Atmosphere is good, service is awesome. But if u have special occasion and u have some request make sure to double check with them. Coz I requested candle for birthday and it was no candle, they forgot about it, was quite upset since is premium dinning place. Otherwise is pretty good place.
