The food was great and the service was fine although they got part of our order wrong
First time dining here and will definitely be returning.
Won’t be back. It was strange that they were out of sake, vodka, lemon juice, mochi…. Too many other sushi places to eat at that don’t run out of common ingredients.
The service was incredibly slow, and the waiter was not attentive at all. We ordered the Bao Bao Bao as an appetizer, which came out 1.5 hours later. The bun was cold to the touch. We had to wait another 45 minutes for the sushi. The fish was minced, and the portions were small. Definitely would not go again.
Hadn’t been hear in years. Server was exceptional and food was good
Took my kids. The waiter was great with suggestions. The edamame tasting was great. The cheese steak roll was awesome. Fish fresh. Decent value. Highly recommended!
We come here often. Took my 5 yr old for lunch on her first day of kindergarten. She loves it, so do we. Best sushi and ambience.
My boyfriend and I went here for date night and got the Chefs Tasting menu. Each course was impeccable and creative. It was incredible value for what it offered. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu, particularly the sake selection, which we greatly appreciated.
We would definitely recommend for any special occasion
Zama is always a solid restaurant to go to. Last night was busier than usual so the manager told us to be patient because they are a little understaffed. She started us with water and distributed menus. The server stopped by shortly after to secure our drink order. The sakitini wasn’t cold but my girlfriends yuzu gimlet was delicious. We ordered the pork dumplings and the California salad to start which was fantastic. For our entrees we ordered the spider roll and it was kind of disappointing but the eel and avocado fiesta was delicious. Overall would definitely return
Great finding!! Delicious food
We usually get one of the chef's tasting menus and this time tried the sushi and sashimi specials - they were very good as ere the daily special dumplings of various kinds. As always great service and this time we tried the house sake which was great.
Best sushi in town. The staff are kind and gracious. Highly recommend
Food was excellent and the staff was very professional and took good care of us. Only issue was that the food took a long time to come out - this can be an issue when you only have an hour for lunch. But it was worth it!
Exceptional! The quality of the fish and the service are back to pre-covid standards.
We eat out at least twice a week and this restaurant is definitely one of the best in Philladelphia. The whole meal was phenomenal and the service was outstanding.
Interesting sushi, nice cocktails, excellent service. Would probably eat there regularly if it wasn’t a 50 minute drive.
Very good food. Pretty loud party near us. Expensive but not too much more than the value for the food.
Amazing sushi! So fresh
Tasting menu was great!
It was my daughter’s birthday, and she wanted sushi! (My daughter is 9.) We ate outside, so we didn’t experience the restaurant’s real ambiance, but the food was stellar. Highly suggest the Red Dragon roll! The service was attentive and fantastic.
Agedashi tofu sauce was bland and separate from the tofu so tofu didn’t absorb any flavor. Pork dumplings, unagi don and chicken Katsu were okay. Did not try any sashimi sushi. Rice crispy maki dessert was different and good.
Amazing food, ambience, and service! 10/10 recommend!!
Real sushi, not the cheap imitation fish they serve in many place. Authentic food and great service
Lunch for 4 was fine. The restaurant opened at noon, but the website menu mentioned items available from 11:30 a.m. It was 98 F outside, so I was hoping to go inside. Miso soup, salads, dumplings, and sushi were all good. The disappointment was the unadon - it was thickly sliced eel dumped on the rice. I would have expected fillets of grilled eel/kabayaki style and also some additional sansho spice.
Excellent sushi and service. Dessert trio was very good as well.
Overpriced and not tasty. Menu sounds more prominent that food.
Food was excellent. Server Brian was great.
Excellent from start to finish.
Best sushi in Philadelphia. Authentic food, amazing chefs, great service.
Had dinner at summer, and made the mistake of leaving a bag at the table as we were leaving. Waiter chase this down 50 feet away. Very nice of him to do that — especially as he was not even our server. The waitress we had was great, kept checking in without being intrusive. Wonderful evening, as it always is.
We had the chefs tasting menu. We loved it and our server was great. Will definitely return!!
Seems a bit pricey for better than average sushi. Only a tad less expensive than Morimoto, which is better all around for sure.
The food was quality no doubt, but the prices for average sushi/sashimi seemed a bit overconfident. It seems to me that the premium prices pertain to the restaurants very favorable location. The service was excellent, our waitress Mercy, was incredibly professional, punctual and had a delightful personality. She also knew her way around the menu and assisted in our meal selection. Overall, this was a nice time for us—the only caveat being there wasn’t anything spectacular about the taste (although acceptable) that warranted premium pricing. The tuna sashimi, however, was a treat. Thanks to the staff for a nice evening.
great food but horrible service, the server that we had was extremely rude to us.
Probably the best deal for sushi in the city for the tasting menu 55$.
I don’t think many Sushi places in Philadelphia compare to other big cities, but Zama does! It’s the real deal if you want great Sushi in Philqdelphia. I wish they would open in the suburbs!
Amazing sushi, presentation and service. Food came out quickly, everything was delicious and fresh!
So I really enjoyed the food; the sushi, steak and cod was absolutely phenomenal. I was not pleased with the service. When I ordered a bottle of wine and water, the server just dropped the water and wine on the table. During my appetizers, the server said that the kitchen was closing and I needed to order my dessert right now when I was still on my appetizer. I obliged but requested my dessert to be fresh, when my desert came out the fluffernutter was cold and she just dropped dessert in the middle of my entre course. For a Rittenhouse upscale restaurant, I am very disappointed with the service. I tipped 20% on a $300 check because I use to work in the service industry but I am not pleased at all with the way I was serviced. Please contact me if you see this review because I believe the food was amazing but the service was horrible.
The tasting menu was great! I have been here a few times, and the sushi is always great.
Delicious food at reasonable price, good service, nice ambience with quiet setting
