Service was terrible. Overpriced for the quality you get.
Freshest/Best sushi I ever ate.. we there for restaurant week lunch. Bento box was great also. Definitely going back,
We went for the first day of Restaurant Week, and the four-course meal was excellent and a great value. Everything was delicious, and the sushi was very fresh and well-crafted. This is definitely one of the better Restaurant Week menus I've seen. Highly recommended.
The food quality is consistently high, and the ambiance is nice.
The service has been poor, with wait staff forgetting simple requests, and often long delays between table visits/check-ins. This was never the case, but has been true during our last 4 visits.
Overpriced. Not great
Fabulous food. Extremely loud.
PERFECTION!!! Tierney was a fabulous wait person. She gave great reccos and was delightful. The oyster shooters? Couldn't get enough so after 12 the two of us moved no to...amazingly fresh uni, FABULOUS tuna carpaccio with truffle oil, and bits of deliciousness in the large variety of sushi we consumed. The sake is also very, very good. We will with a nigori (Cloudy something) and it was just perfect paired with everything we ate. Thank you--it was a special night and an amazing experience.
Excellent sushi. Impeccable service. Also: house made sake!
Family get together
The food was excellent as always. It was very warm in the restaurant, almost uncomfortable. The food and service was so great that I didn’t care.
The service from Travis was really good. He was able to answer questions and explain what was presented.
The food was very good, but I will say it is quite pricey for the portions served.
Birthday celebration dinner. Had looked at this restaurant for another night, but found ourselves close on this occasion. Everything was great. Service as accommodating but not overbearing. Kitchen prepared things quickly and timely. Loved the simplicity of the interior. Great sake list!!!
Very good but not special
Food is great, but Japanese food is expensive, so we don't eat it everyday, not street food.
The food was excellent as always and the 7 courses chef menu a really good deal. Only minor issue the tables for two are quite small.
We had the December anniversary multi-course special. It was outstanding. Every dish was excellent as was the $25 sake or wine matched with the food (and a bargain too!). I would recommend Zama as one of the best sushi restaurants in Philadelphia.
Always steady and good
Extraordinary food and exceptional service. That equals a win every time. We used to go to Cozara, but were pleasantly surprised with Zama. Absolutely amazing sushi.
Phenomenal! Had the tasting menu and was the best meal web had in a while! Every dish was incredible!
The food was absolutely amazing!
always an exceptional experience with close attention to creative combinations of fresh and delicious fish and spices
Good food and service. A bit pricey, especially the sushi. The Black Cod and Short Rib were very good.
Delicious lunch. We were able to have their $55 tasting menu for during lunch.
The place is really cool. We had a great meal, the desserts are awesome also.
I've been to Zama twice now and found each meal delicious. I especially like that in addition to the fast service, they offer dishes I've never seen elsewhere. Everything from the brussels sprouts appetizer to the sushi, sashimi and specialty dishes like fried chicken were wonderful. I look forward to going back soon.
We return often. Great value, diversity and quality in small dishes. We will generally split a large plate.
Food was and is always good! If you like sushi, it’s a great place to go!
Best sushi, best service, tiny atmosphere for intimate meals ..... power lunch, date night, Sunday funday.... all outstanding!!!!! Can't wait until the next time I am there... .service and sushi chefs were brillant, I am gluten free and theny made all the modifications to make me happy.
Everything we ordered was excellent. Some very innovative dishes - especially Philly Style maki, Oysters 3 ways and Wasabi truffle escargot.
Sushi chef's are the best in the city, all fresh fishes.
Amazing food, staff & management!!! Our waiter Peter made our experience that much better!! We drive an hour and a half from Baltimore to get dinner here.
The special White Dragon roll was one of the best rolls I have ever had! The miso soup was delicious! We could have done without the desert, it wasn’t as enjoyable as the meal!
We always love Zama when visiting Philly. The noise from neighboring tables is sometimes a bit overwhelming, but the food and service are always outstanding.
Sashimi was delicious!!
Our first time dining here, we came in for a late snack. We both had rainbow rolls, I had miso soup, and my husband had the seaweed salad. The sushi was very good, but a bit pricey. Very busy on a Tuesday night, but they tried really hard to keep up with the service.
My husband & I chose Zama based on reviews and location to our hotel. Staff was not friendly nor welcoming. It took 20 mins after being seated for our drink order to be taken. Another 15 mins to receive our wine and 45 mins to receive 1 dish that did not come out with other orders. The seats were not comfy and lighting terrible. The only positive note was that the food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Cost was fair.
The food was good but very overpriced for the serving sizes and cuisine. The service was mediocre and the note about my son's birthday was completely ignored.
