Zama was a life changing experience from the cocktails to the freshness of the fish. The wait staff was informative and helpful. Delicious and decadent sushi. Would recommend 10/10!!!
Highly recommend. This instantly became our favorite Philly sushi spot. The food is amazing and the sushi is very fresh. I definitely suggest experimenting with items that you wouldn’t typically get and asking for suggestions. The staff is very knowledgeable of the menu and always has awesome, honest suggestions. Also, we have been a couple times during the Covid dining restrictions and felt extremely comfortable each time - everything is very spaced out.
So nice to be back day Ning inside on the same delicious sushi
We love Zama and come here all the time. The sushi is the best and we always have a good time.
Great food and service. Quick to be seated and served. Server was really good. Food options were immense. Definitely will come again.
The “cloudy” Sake is a must!
Tasting menu was amazing.
Overall a great restaurant. The type of place that you want to try everything but the price does add up quickly. Would definitely recommend and go again
The most pathetic sushi experience in my live.
Toro looked and tasted like eel.
Forget about the fish, you guys couldn’t even have figured out pickled ginger.
And serving bagged green tea?
This place does not deserve to be called a sushi restaurant.
Absolutely delicious, fresh fish, fun menu, great service.
The outdoor dining booth was cramped, all plastic, terrible/no ambiance. Very cheap.
I have eaten at Zama quite a lot, the food is great and dealing with Covid, they do a great job.
This last visit, I brought 2 people who never ate there before, I wanted it to be a good experience. Unfortunately the service was very very slow and we had to keep asking why everything.... even desert took a very long time.
One of my quests was done eating before the others got their meal.
Not the service I am used to!
This is NOT a “high end” restaurant. More like your local sushi joint but with a high price tag. Dirty towels hanging on bus carts in view. very laid back service with little enthusiasm. Ok food, but not worth the cost. Just is not what it represents on line, Yelp, open table, etc. Better off spending the money at morimoto- I don’t even consider that money well spend but much better than this place.
It was a special occasion, so we tried the chef's tasting menu. It was 7 courses of magnificence. Somehow each one topped the last. Seriously impressed with the quality of this restaurant.
I recently took a date to Zama for some dinner after a night out. My date is a vegetarian. I called a few days prior to see if a vegetarian tasting menu could be arranged. The manager and chef came through big time. We had an awesome 7 course vegetarian tasting menu complete with apps, rolls and desert. Everything was great. I'm not a strict vegetarian but I would go back for some of the veg rolls they created for us.
Such great quality and fresh fish. Loved the rolls and sashimi.
Amazing sushi, amazing staff especially under covid regulations.
Great food and service! We love the set menu and our 7 courses including dessert.
Awesome food start to finish. We luv Japanese cuisine and we wanted to try Zema and their Food and Service x5⭐️
We usually like to try many of what’s on the menu on our first try so we ordered
- crispy salmon skin salad
- edamame w/ 3 salt sampler - we chose soy/yuzu/truffle
- kurobuta pan seared dumplings
- couple of pieces of chu-toro /blue fin / yellowtail Hon Hamachi sashimi
- a sushi special - tempura crunch on the outside with tuna / roe /avocado on the outside and some sort of jalapeño cream sauce on the inside
- kirin ichiban braised short ribs w/crispy ramen noodles
- black cod saikyoyaki
- NY strip steak with bliss potatoes
that tasted like gnocchis
- wasabi rice
MINI DESERTS X3 (we chose banana ice cream/ bl choco mousse with sea salt / tofu beignets
Amazing sushi! Best in the city that I’ve had!
Our server was very poor. He barely checked on our table, we had a food runner who was way more attentive and we would have rather tipped. We were very disappointed in the service.
Food was amazing. Ate outside. Service abs staff fabulous.
Great food, clean facility, waiter knowledgeable and helpful, I will be back!
Sushi and service was great! Our server was very accommodating and knowledgeable. I’d go again
After 1 hour waiting for our food (2 persons order) we canceled it and the server didn’t even apologized. Seems like waiting an hour for your food is normal thing for them.
The folks at Zama really helped us celebrate our son’s 13th birthday with style! The service was amazing, the recommended dishes were perfect (king crab rolls topped w scallop sashimi!) and the dessert was the right ending.
Beautiful night, Beautiful people, Beautiful food
We were outside in the gut. Only gave ambience 3 stars for that reason. Everything alway delicious
Great experience. Staff is super knowledgeable. All dishes were wonderfully crafted and fresh. Will be returning soon!
Great sushi, very fresh fish. I will 10/10 be coming back often!
Still continues to be the BEST sushi in Philly. Love it
Dessert is a must have here, fluff dumpling 🤤🤤 i don’t usually do dessert at Asian restaurant, do not skip!!
Amazing as always
Nice sushi spot right next to Rittenhouse Square. Upscale and very clean.
Our go to place for Japanese food in Philly, great location, lovely atmosphere and nice service. We had eaten outside in September, it was nice to dine inside.
Wait staff was rude and unpleasant upon arrival. Food was good
U can never go wrong with Zama
Always great food and even greater service.
Everything we ordered was great. Wonderful Japanese spot
Went out for valentines. It took almost 2 1/2 hours to get all our food. We got a multi-course menu, but some courses had 30 minutes or more between. It took so long. I ordered a beer, and 30 minutes later, still waiting for the next course, the waiter dumped one in my glass and said ‘not sure if you ordered this, but take it’ somewhat rudely. As a 200$ meal for two and a special occasion, disappointed. We left more than 3 hours after arriving...
