Zaffiro's - New Berlin / Marcus Ridge Cinema Ratings and Reviews
The restaurant was closed for business, I wish open table would have known. I don't know why there were open reservations for a closed business. can you update your website, and open table with this information, it was very irritating to show up to a closed doors.
I had made this reservation in advance for 10 people on Open Table. When I arrived the hostess acted like she didn't know about the reservation. We were given a table and had terrible service. It took a long time to receive our meals and when they did arrive, only half of it was brought, and some was incorrect. The other half took an additional 15 min or so. Our waitress disappeared and the manager took over. It took quite a bit of time to get our checks/pay, etc. and some items were also charged incorrectly on the bill. We were late to the movie we had all come to see. The manager gave us free movie passes to make up for it, however was disappointed in the service we received.
It was a good option for a dinner & movie date.
The drinks were not great - wife got the wrong wine at first, but our waitress was helpful and poured a replacement herself to make sure she got the right type. I ordered a Fat Tire on tap (one of their promo specials), but it tasted like the tap was skunky.
Our waitress Stephanie took good care of us, but she was definitely slammed with new tables when we came in at 6:00. Not her fault, just worth giving yourself a few extra minutes if you have an early show.
The food was quite good - both the cheese curds appetizer and supreme pizza came out quickly and were hot and delicious. We love thin crust pizza, and Zaffiro's does it well. Given how busy they were with a rush of people right before the 7:00 movies, I was impressed.
Calamari as a starter was carefully prepared, with red sauce on one side and a green basil sauce on the other. We had the thin crust pizza "Sausage Special" and followed that with raspberry gelato for a treat. We have visited several times before to relive the enjoyment. The food quality is wonderful.
The waitress was a bit unusual. She told one of our party that she couldn't have another wine "glass" since they are all dirty and being washed. (not necessary to share this information)
Also 2 people ordered Pinot Grigio during happy hour, it was served, then the waitress returned to tell the women that it was not on the happy hour list (previously confirmed that it was) and asked if they wanted to return it for a cheaper included wine....the ladies had already been drinking it.
Pizza's always good. Could use a better wine list, expecially white wine.
I had made reservations three days ahead. They wanted to seat us right by the door. They have a back room. Which we were seated, but were told that it closed for sweeping. This was at 7PM. Which seemed to early for them to be cleaning the back room since it was a Saturday night. I wanted it to be a special dinner for Father's Day. But I was disappointed with the waitress's attitude. I noticed that there was not a manager on that night. I could tell that the employees did not want to work. The pizza was GREAT!
We often choose Zaffiro's for dinner with friends. It's relaxing, comfortable atmosphere is great for meeting people you see all the time or not so often. The pizza never disappoints, it is definitely one of our favorites. Their homemade chips are great while you wait for your order. Zaffiro's is one of our favorite places. You have to give it a try.
The food was okay, but nothing to scream about. I expected better service. The hostess was sweet and everything, but our waitress seemed like she didn't even want to be there. I did not see her smile once when we were there and she seemed to be forcing us out of the restaurant. Maybe they needed the table? I don't know, but she asked us if we were done before we had even put our silverware down.
This is my third time eating here. (I had pizza all three times.) The first time was fine. The last two times, the pizza was over-baked and slightly burnt. One time, we complained to our waitress who said some people ask for it to be baked well-done. (Huh?) Well, we didn't ask for that! Also, there wasn't much flavor. I've had frozen pizza that tastes better. I won't be back. For the the price, I expected much more.
My wife and I were out for dinner and a movie and Zaffiro's is attached to the theater. Because of this it's very busy and you are better off trying to reserve a table instead of walking in.
The food is decent. I wouldn't go as far as to say it's great, but it wasn't bad. The service was really good especially considering the crowd and the food did come quickly. Sraff was very friendly and accommodating. Overall for dinner and a movie it worked well.
We come to Zaffiro's quite often. We had guests from out of town and friends from in town meet us at 7:30 on Saturday. No movies just dinner. Our drink orders were wrong, some of us got our meal and others didn't. We had to remind our waiter to get our food. Part of the meal ( vegetables) weren't even made so we told them to just skip it. I wasn't finished with my drink and it was taken away. Our waiter said I handed it to him and our whole table replied "no she didn't" For one of the meals ( which was a pasta dish) they forgot most of the noodles. When the waiter came back(my son asked for noodles because you could count how many noodles he had) he brought a completely different type of noodle.
An energetic pre and post movie hot spot at the Ridge Cinema, Zaffiro's delivers very good pizza and quick reliable service. Agreat selection of beers and house specialty cocktails provide a great compliment to a classic thin crust pizza. Housemade chips are well seasoned and make for a great appetizer. The only complaint is that the pizza crust is not as crispy as Zaffiro's original East side crust (a matter of an old seasoned brick oven on Farwell we've been told) and the sauce was a little sparse. A great stop before or after a movie.
Not only is Zaffiro's convenient for lunch (dinner) after seeing a movie, the food is great - now top that off with a server (Christian) that just made the whole experience triple the fun - The Ridge has a gem - Recommend you consider it the next time you're seeing a movie and having a bite to eat - you won't be disappointed
The waitress did not turn down the ceiling fans when asked, the coffee was only warm, and must have been on the burner for a time therefore taste not up to par, pizza was good but the size was not as waitress indicated and for our group we had to order a second one later because there wasn't enough for the group.
I am actually an Italian Citizen. I have dual citizenship. I have been to Italy several times and frequented Zaffiro's restaurant many time because they had the best pizza in town. We live in New Berlin so be appreciate having Zaffiro's so close. We love the décor of the restaurant, the Kitchen Sink salad is fantastic and most important, the pizza is fantastic. The free chips are a very nice touch.
We had six people for Mom's Day brunch. The food, and service was a wonderful value. Plus, it was very good.
The service from the wait staff was exceptional. We wanted to go somewhere that was casual yet comfortable. We were bringing my husband's mother who is 105 and needed a spot where she was comfortable. The staff was particularily attentive to her and helped her even though she was a bit messy with her food.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Very disappointed in the Mother's Day Brunch. We should have said something right away, but we did not. For what we paid ($15.95/person) the food was not worth it. We have dined at Zaffiro's before and have enjoyed the food, but on Sunday the brunch was cold, flavorless, and just not appealing. The ONLY thing that I enjoyed was the fresh fruit and the cinnamon roll! Everything else was pretty bland. When a person puts shredded cheddar cheese on their scrambled eggs, they would think that it would melt! It did not! Even the pizza's offered were cold. This was an unfortunate brunch, and even more unfortunate that we spent $66.00 on the food!!
This was our first visit to Zaffiros for Mothers Day brunch. The brunch was just ok. For a pizza place, the pizza was the worst thing. It was very cold and did not look appealing. Plates were way to small for a buffet. Everyone in line was complaining about the plates. For the price I thought it would of been better.
