Za Za's Clarendon Hills
We love the food here but making a reservation doesn’t help with eating on time. We are often directed to the bar because no tables are open and bar is usually packed. Good thing the food is delicious!
have been there many times. overall the food is excellent ambience great but our night was ruined by our waitresses nonchalant way of handling the situation
my husband ordered pizza with selected items on it a busboy delivered it when we saw the waitress she had an attitude saying She did not deliver it to the table so what it what is all that is what you ordered
my husband proceeded to tell her there’s mushrooms on it she went and got her tickets and where she proceeded rudely to read off the ticket and realized the ticket was for another table. We understand busy times in the restaurant make mistakes but it’s the way that she accused us and was so nonchalant she wanted to make up another one we said don’t worry will just head on home we wanted to leave
she was rather rude have another glass of wine ..we didn’t want any wine we wanted to leaveGive me the time to make one. meanwhile my pizza was cold i was not going to eat in front of him. they could have offered to warm up mine or keep mine till his was made. they rushed his order not listening to the fact we wanted to leave. listen to the customer we were not asking free pizza.
after everything she even asked if we wanted a desert
we were so irritated by the way she handled the situation she staired us down I saw her being hugged by another person we gave her 15% tip we continued to polite
admit fault and move on
Excellent food and service
Good place. Food was very good. Crowded on Saturday's.
very nice meal and evening with friends. would definitely come back soon
The food was good but we were not happy with the hostess. We showed up and explained that we had reservations at 6 pm through Open Table. We were told our reservation was not in the system. We even showed her the email from Open Table. I understand that this is not her problem if it is not in their system but she could have handled the situation in a kinder manner.
Our server did an expert job of taking care of the customers, all by herself.
The food was served hot and flavorful. There is a nice selection on the menu plus there is a daily special.
Delicious food, great service. Always a great night out at Zaza’s!
Best Italian food in the burbs! Staff is fantastic!
We have eaten many times at this restaurant and have found your service, food quality, ambiance, etc. to be solid and consistently good. However, our visit the other night was nothing but disappointing.
Our server was inattentive and our service slow the entire evening. I had to ask for another server to ask for bread and water to be brought to the table as we waited. This other server handled my request and had a coy and clever reply that made light of the fact that we had to ask for these items. The food quality was fair but the quality was not what I expect for the prices that you charge at your establishment.
I was just ready to chalk this dinner up to an off night for the restaurant staff by asking for our check as the server was walking by our table. However, suddenly the lighting went off and apparently there was a power outage. At this point, we were there 1.5 hours already and I was told by the server that it may take some time to sort out our check. 10-15 minutes later, she returned with our check and was informed that the credit card machine would not work tonight. It was asked of me to leave my credit card # and the transaction would be handled at a later time manually. I refused to do that and was able to dig up $140 in cash to cover a $131 bill. The server then gave me a nasty look and walked away.
I will probably not return to this restaurant. I believe that the server thought that I was a jerk as I was visibly frustrated at the point where we wanted to pay and leave as quick as we could. Little did she know at the time that the power outage was the icing on the cake and an appropriate ending for such a poorly executed dining experience by the staff that evening.
Place is always great food service and atmosphere
Always great food and service!! Thanks Tony!
New Years Eve. Food not as good as other times I have eaten here, but still very good. Waitress amazing. We were a large table, and she didn’t skip a beat.
Amazing service even with a full house on New Years Eve! The sea bass was perfect as the accompanying prawn and scallop. The chicken bavossa was delicious and cooked nicely with linguini. Overall, a great meal,
service and price.
Wonderful New Year’s Eve dinner with friends. Great food and great service. Zara’s is one of the best Italian restaurants in the western suburbs.
I have visited ZaZa’s quite frequently. On this occasion we waited a long time for our lunch to be served even though there were only 3 tables occupied - lunch portions also seemed smaller than usual and were not very warm when served. Our food was good but not as tasty as usual. This is one of my favorite restaurants so would return - maybe it was just an off day or perhaps the kitchen staff was preparing for a crowd later since it was Dec. 31st.
Very good but the noise level gets very loud and hard to hear. Go early because it gets packed.
Always a delightful, relaxed atmosphere with quality food.
Lovely flavorful food! So glad to have dined here. The scallop appetizer was amazing! We’ll be back. Don’t sit by the door if you catch a chill tho!
Consistent, time after time.
Probably the best Italian in the Western Suburbs. Tony and his team do an excellent job! Always packed but always worth the wait! Highly recommend
The white fish dish is always absolutely delicious. Service was great. Two of us sent back cocktails and one of us kept his but didn’t like it. The pork dish was dry but wasn’t sent back. Food and drinks have always been outstanding in the past and were not quite the same last Saturday.
The main issue we had is the lack of kids menu or pricing, something our server failed to mention. My daughters ordered buttered noodles and a tortellini with Alfredo and the cost was $16 and $19. That is way too much in my opinion. It’s ok to not have kids specific options but at least offer smaller portioned and cheaper ones. For that reason, we will not go back anytime soon.
Lovely as usual, Great food, Ali tyke Quiteria than usual due to early hour. Made for pleasant conversation
It was a perfect might out. Our waitress was on the ball and the food was on point. We can't wait to get back to Za Za's as soon as possible.
Overall it was a good experience. Ordered baked clam appetizer and they were micro clams. Food was good but not worth the expense.
Great food, and service.
The waitress was great. Very attentive and there was a great selection on the menu. The food was outstanding.
Wanted to sit in the bar area and evidently did but the hostess said they had a big party coming. I said we’d eat fast and she said that would help.
We did have a reservation
Our server Cindy was the best, In a review from 7 Sept 19, I wrote about a terrible experience at this establishment. I reluctantly agreed to go back and I was glad we did. Cindy redeemed the restaurant. I know that these reviews fall on deaf ears when and if management reads them but as a reviewer who wrote a bad review on this post I would Encourage you the customer who are reading my comments to please give them a try. If you ask for Cindy When you make your reservations, I am certain you will not be disappointed.
Attentive staff, great food, nice atmosphere. We hadn’t been there in awhile and I appreciated the updated menu items.
Service has improved quite a bit. Stopped going there for a while because it was chaotic and service was very erratic. Still a very busy place but host and servers very friendly and food always good.
EXCELLENT AS ALWAYS. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS AND PRICED RIGHT
We had a 6:45 reservation, and with just two of us took 1.5 hours to eat. Would not have minded if we didn't have a party to get to. Waiter was really nice but took forever to fill my husband's beer. Our food took a long time as well and was not that good. My lasagna had hardly any cheese and was really bland. My husband got a meat dish that was so dry he couldn't swallow it without water. We've been driving past this place for years and finally decided to try it. We hardly get a nice date night and was disappointed we wasted one there. Needless to say we won't be returning.
A little tight and very noisy. Food was just ok, a little over priced. Fried calamari was a little soggy. Best dish was the pork neckbones on pasta.
Drive fast to get there. One of the best meals in forever!!!
Our favorite place!!
Food was delicious and service is always great. Love this place!
