The best! Ivan's recommendations are always right on.
Don'r want to review how much we like it-- as it's already getting too crowded!
Amazing Sushi and Sashimi, and wonderful service.
Creative menu. Outstanding food and presentation. Great service. Stands out among the traditional Japanese restaurants found in the city. Will definitely return.
The part that bothered me most was being told by a waiter your table is only 2 hours after I booked a reservation and my party could not all arrive at the same time due to train delays and we weren’t going to stay there but to be reminded killed it for me. I am not accustom to that it felt like I was stereotyped.
We’ve always liked Yuba. The food is very good, and service is friendly end efficient. However, I would warn against letting the chef design your plate. With very little wine and no cocktails, our tab for four surprised us at nearly $400.
The waiters were very friendly. Food was good.
Gem of sushi in East Village. Quiet, charming and delicious.
We added a third person to our res, and wasn't sure if Yuba could accommodate. When I arrived, they offered us seats at the bar, which I wasn't as enthused about. When the other members of my party arrived, the Yuba staff accommodated us by giving us an actual 4 person table, making the experience much more positive! Very glad for that service, and the sushi is always delicious.
Our meal was absolutely fantastic! We will be back on our next visit to New York. We loved everything about the experience and the food was beautifully presented and delicious! You will not be disappointed!
My friend's roll was "the best" she had ever had and my black miso cod was plentiful and excellent. Yuba is a quiet, unassuming, moderately priced restaurant with delicious food and attentive service. My friend also had the freshly made vegetable dumplings--yum!
Sushi bar can’t be beat.
Great place for a quick bite. The food was good but not spectacular. We ordered a few rolls. The vegetable roll was really good and the rest were standard. Service was great... staff were very attentive and friendly.
This is a wonderfully creative and delicious place to eat. Most of their creations are spectacular and it is very well priced. Pleasant and simple decor but inviting. We were disappointed by our shrimp tempura which was not crisp and wonderful but a bit soggy. Recommendation would be to stick to the rolls, sushi and sashimi which are all excellent This was our fourth visit and it has been totally splendid every time.
Freshest best selection sushi with terrific service. So happy I found this place. I will definitely return. Not your average sushi joint at all!
We ALWAYS love Yuba!
Great service. Sushi was good not great. Had the Omakaze.
For the money it may be the best sushi in the neighborhood. It always seems very good, the fish always buttery soft and fresh. And the servers take time to identify everything on the plate.
VERY SPECIAL AND EXOTIC CHOICES OF SUSHI--ABSOLUTELY RIVALS THE BEST QUALITY AND TASTE SENSATION OF SUSHI I HAVE EVER HAD. SERVICE WAS EXTREMELY ATTENTIVE. ALSO, OFFERED CHOICES OF FISH I HAVE NEVER SEEN BEFORE--BARRACUDA? REALLY? BLACK TRUFFLE SLICES ATOP OTHER FISH CHOICES. THIS IS A TRUE UNDER THE RADAR PLACE. AMBIANCE IS NOTHING SPECIAL, AND IT'S NOT CHEAP, BUT IF IT'S DELICIOUS AND UNIQUE SUSHI OFFERINGS YOU WANT, YOU CAN'T GO WRONG HERE. WOW.
Went here on a whim with a friend. Came in for the sushi and was amazed at the service. The food was incredible as well. My friend and I decided to try the soup dumplings, yakitori, grilled marinated Toro, and 12-piece Omakase. All of the food was delicious, but the best part really was our amazing server and Jack our sushi chef who made the experience truly amazing.
Quality of food was outstanding.
This is my favorite sushi spot in all of NYC. They find the freshest fish have the best presentation and all start sushi chefs. A+++ Yuba never lets me down.
Some of the best bang for you buck the city has to offer.
Pleasantly surprised by how great the sushi was. Unfortunately I forget the names of the signature rolls we ordered but they were both very good! One of them had spicy tuna and jalapeno - it was delicious.
Extremely fresh sushi omakase, excellent value for money! Fantastic fish soup & spicy cucumber tataki to start. Very friendly service. Serene atmosphere.
Excellent quality sushi and superior service that’s reasonably priced in quiet setting. A small, relatively hidden neighborhood gem.
Brilliant great people making very good sushi.. best to sit at the bar for Omakase
The sushi chef had a really nice selection of fresh fish which was well prepared. Good soup and nice Sake choices. Very nice staff and pretty quick service.
Food is outstanding and on par with the highest end sushi places in NYC. Hidden gem
Came here for my partner's birthday. The food, as always, was amazing. Had cod appetizer, sushi, and tempura ice cream; all delicious. Service is always great as well.
Food was great and the service was very attentive. We would go back here except for one significant issue. The table across from us had their dog with them, sitting on the chair with its face resting on their table. We are dog lovers and truly enjoy their company, but how can it be hygienic to allow a dog’s mouth to be resting on a table in a public restaurant? The waitstaff were obviously aware, since they brought the dog a bowl of water. Regardless of their excellent sushi, unfortunately we will be going elsewhere in the future.
It had been years since I had eaten here last. The food is still delicious and the service is still impeccable. The items recommended by our waiter, who was very gracious and accommodating, were particularly good. The only item we were not crazy about was the miso cod, which was an item we chose, but everything else was great. There was no dessert the evening we went, so I cannot comment about that.
Warm and wonderful service. Great quality fish. Good vegetarian options. Creative rolls.
Excellent, fresh sushi. Delicate, tasty gyoza. Reasonably priced. Go.
Yuba is our go-to place! It's the best sushi - the fish is so fresh and the rolls are so inventive. Not to mention the fantastic service. I can wholeheartedly recommend Yuba to anyone from foodies to locals looking for a great dinner option any night of the week.
delightful as always
Service was beyond excellent, food was reasonable quality as well. the 16 piece omakase was fairly good value. Uni and Akemono portions were very generous and good too. I had a very nice time.
Kokuryu sake is one of my favorite alongside Jokigen and was glad to have that.
It was my first time there and I loved every second of it, nice to find a BYOB with great food in the city. Will definitely be going back :)
Prep and presentation of sushi was mediocre. Staff was very nice but inattentive. Room is drab and depressing. Not bad, but not worth traveling to.
Yuba is simply the best. It is my family’s favorite sushi joint. The food is incredible. The staff are extremely friendly. My husband and I go to Yuba on date nights and when our children are lucky enough for us to take them out for sushi we all go and everyone enjoys the food. Yuba is simply a neighborhood gem. The omakase is extraordinary.
