Would recommend to a friend as a LA hotspot, however definitely not worth $200 dollars for a two person date. Res for 8pm seated at 8:30? haha yea right? Ive lived in LA for 10 years so i understand the "Your table isnt ready so have a drink at the bar" move which adds $40 to overall bill is the status quo, but not 30 mins later? Had a good time due to great service and a smoking hot date, but will be going somewhere else for next outing.

Outstanding food and an atmosphere that left us awestruck. We enjoyed every moment and every bite.. I can not recommend any higher - 100% ...

I love this place!!!!!

The ambiance was amazing, and the music and crowd made it cleary the place to be. The food was unprecedented and service was outstanding. I would highly recommend Ysabel for an intimate and yet fun upbeat date. My boyfriend and I did this for date night and it was one of our best ever, we had so much fun with the music playing and the scene, and he left saying that was the best meal he had had in a long time. We look forward to going back soon!

I wouldn’t write home raving about Ysabel but there are a few positives. The hostess was very attentive and friendly and we were seated right away. Jack our server was awesome and very attentive too. The ambiance was pretty nice but due to the flooring the restaurant was quite loud which made it arduous to carry on a conversation. For the main topic herein, we felt the food was underwhelming and bland. All in all I give it 3 stars but I don’t think I’d return to Ysabel.

Had dinner with client/friend. He had the scallops (gave me one - it was amazing!)
I had the catch of the day, Striped Sea Bass - also Amazing!
We shared the Hamachi starter - Amazing!
For desert - Creme Brûlée- fantastic!

Excellent wait staff was always nearby when we looked up to ask for anything.
Super friendly atmosphere.

Let me preface this review with the fact I have dined at all the “hot spot” places in H-wood and Bev hills . So I am aware these places are more for tagging photos at vs. actually eating...: that said...:

I think this place has a problem with thinking they are something they are not. We had a reservation for two at 6:30, my guest arrived at 6:25 to an empty place(asked if we could be seated at 7 because it was empty and bar has a few people at it)..: the rude and entitled hostess, then seated us at a table in the corner away from anything, we requested to move inside the main area because it was cold #1 and #2 it was empty and dead.

We were told we could not move into the the main seating area because they were “booked” ..: well, there was NO ONE SITTING AT say, 10 or 20 TWO TOPS! ... eventually, after asking the server, we were moved to a two top inside (it was raining and cold in LA on this date)... never once did any of the tables the were “booked” fill before 8pm... we left after a bottle of horrid wine ($70) and organic chicken (was good).

The busboy, appeared nervous around us, as when clearing the table he dropped the utensils not once, but 6 times onto floor and got oil from chicken all over my shoes. No apology, his supervisor had to step in to simply pick up a plate!!! One plate! .

We wasted 150$, + $50 on 2 drinks At bar ($22 Tito’s soda)... places like this won’t be around long if they think catering to Instagram losers is the only way to sustain business.

We had a fantastic time at Ysabel. The ambiance is amazing, great dim light, beautiful aesthetic and artwork. We were a big group and they were very accommodating but looked cute for a date spot or girl’s night out as well. The tequila mezcal drink was a fave, as well as the chicken bao buns. Most everything was tasty, a few items were cold that they immediately replaced. The staff was very on point.

Not sure if I would recommend the restaurant, overall. It depends upon what the diner is looking for.

Beautiful atmosphere, romantic and delicious birthday dinner, I had a party of 7 and it was wonderful!

The food was outstanding. The ambiance was perfect. The drinks were great.

It was absolutely awful. Took 1 hr to sit on a table that was reserved for 8 people - reservations were for 9:30 and first meal was served near 11pm - that’s NOT ok! I hate eating late. Absolutely terrible experience - we felt like the least important people in the room.

This was my 3 dinner in last three weeks at Ysabel. I’m a huge fan of this place but this time I feel the service fell too short. The lady waiting on us wasn’t nearly as friendly or engaging as Annabel. That’s our fav person there. She’s so fun, makes great recommendations and always makes the entire experience fabulous.

I requested her for this night however, she wasn’t given our table so most likely I won’t be going back to them.

This was a birthday dinner and I wanted it to be just great. Oh well..

Everything was great, except we were near the speakers and it was too loud to communicate.

Very mediocre food, nothing special and super pricy. We got two different drinks nothing in them but ice. You take two sips of your drink and it's gone yet so pricy. The only good thing going for the place is the ambitious and the place being super cute.

Food and Ambiance are fine, classic LA crowed, everybody is more concerned to take selfies rather than care about the food.
Service was not good, again pretty much normal in LA, but guest don't care when you see the reviews. Why you should care when you are too busy to look for the perfect selfie.
Server was talking to us with his hands in his pocket, did not asked for a second round of drinks, could not buss the table even he should have seen that our empty plates were standing for quite awhile. Attitude of: "I have a busser, I am better than him. So I should not buss the table."
Hostess was busy talking to his co host and checking her instagram feed, so no Hello in the beginning or Thank you for coming, when leaving the restaurant.

Will not go back.....

Bummer experience - wanted to like it! Cool design, but food didn’t have a ton of taste, and our waiter essentially ignored us - he even acknowledged that he hoped the “food had been ok” when he brought check since hadn’t been around to ask earlier. Felt very overrated for the price.

I had the BEST time at Ysabel this afternoon celebrating my birthday. From start to finish the service was spectacular and the food was bursting with flavor. Before arriving, however, I searched reviews and didn’t realize there was a “no balloon” policy here. Thankfully though, after bringing balloons and being informed, I removed my bday balloons for photos outside the restaurant afterwards instead. Easy peasy. I’m excited to visit again soon!

Visited Ysabel on our last night in La as it was recommended to us. We really enjoyed the meal, we shared the mezze plate then had lamb chops and lobster ravioli for mains and the coconut sorbet for desert was amazing! the atmosphere and our server was excellent too! Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the city!

Our server was great and very welcoming/nice but the hostess was so snooty that it left a bad taste in my mouth.

I took my boyfriend to dinner. I had been once before, but it was his first time. He absolutely loved it, like I knew he would. We had a great time. We had the filet, Brussels sprouts, truffle fries and crab cake. The only thing that wasn’t 100% was my appetizer. It was the spicy tuna tartare on crispy rice. The rice was more than crispy. It was a bit burnt. I love the place and was so hungry, I didn’t send it back.

But other than that, we love Ysabel!!

We waited 1 hour to be seated for our 9:30 reservation. We were sat at a small table in the cocktail section that did not accommodate our party properly. When we had a reservation for 4. The entire evening was mishandled

Beautiful and quality please

My third time here, but i can’t brag on how well Annabel took care of me and my date.
It was just fantastic. She made great recommendations for wine, appetizers and dinner. Omg we ordered a lot for two people but she was right, we LOVED it.

Jack, Alex and Annabel are amazing here, making Annabel my fav server. Please make sure to ask for Annabel if you’re there. She’s Australian and super adorable. I absolutely love her. Her service, recommendations and hospitality was wonderful and made the entire experience a perfect 5 star ⭐️!!!!

Very nice restaurant with outstanding dishes

The food was terrible. We got the special and the fish was dry, vegetable soggy. We didn't touch our food after tasting, spoke to the manager and he still charged us. I don't leave reviews but this was exceptionally bad.
