View Private Dining DetailsThe best part of eating here is that if you’re going to see a show you get better seats. The food is ok. Basic thing like tempura is way too heavily battered. The sushi & apps are all I have ordered so I can’t speak about entrees. Because they have great shows I know I’ll be back to eat.
Food was just ok. Waitress highly recommended a fritter that was inedible.(we wanted tempura). She was aloof and did not seem to be concerned that the dish that she recommended was not eaten. I was disappointed with the food and quality of service. Thankfully the show made up for the disappointing meal.
A Longtime Yoshis customer.
First time diners from the Central valley, Fresno. Wonderful venue, excellent service, charming ambiance with a diverse and tasty menu. Ben, our waiter, a superb young man, was very engaging, courteous, and prompt. Best dining experience we've had in years! The Cubanismo concert was top notch. We'll definitely be back.
Limited choice of entrees in the menu. Food was very good - on the pricey side.
We had a wonderful dinner before the show. There were many choices on the menu, and the waiter was very helpful. He also went out of his way to make sure that we had a good seat for the concert following the dinner.
Our server Nic was great.
Helped us plan our meal choices,
secured great seats at the show,
and was always there when we wanted to
talk to him or needed assistance.
Food was great. We got 4 sushi rolls and really enjoyed the flavors. Took us awhile to get waited on, then another server came over and helped us out. Later, our *actual* server came over and was like, “oh someone helped you already?” But, our adopted server was wonderful. We will definitely be back.
We went for dinner before the Yoshi’s show. The sushi was average but priced as if it were exceptional. Our server was relatively inexperienced which required us to interact more with her than we’d have liked. The highlight was the bus boy who kept my water glass full during the entire dinner. Thank you!
- Restaurant is nice.
- Food was ok - can get better for cheaper, but not with the same ambience. Hard pass on the chicken. They let us build better vegetarian rolls, but it's not really a place my veg bf could fill up without busting the budget. Dessert and tea course was our fave.
- Service was terrible - we were really neglected by the waitress. Would not return or recommend the restaurant on this basis alone.
- I called the restaurant in advance and they confirmed they could see the note about my brother's bday on the rez. They did nothing to recognize it on the day of; very disappointing to be overlooked when I know they saw my note about a special occasion. Other tables had special bday desserts around us too.
The food was as delicious as ever, but there needs to be more time between courses and delivery of the bill. We felt rushed. If you're attending a show, that might be helpful but not for dining.
Food is always excellent. Great and catering staff.
If you eat there you get preferred seating to the show. Great deal
Sorry to say I found the food average at best. If not for getting a reserved seat for the music n the outstanding music club I would not rush to eat at the restaurant .
Great time before a show. Sean was a wonderful waiter. Fun and different food.
Outstanding service and great food followed by terrific show.
We enjoyed our dinner - the scallops and risotto were DELICIOUS! We didn't care for the seaweed salad, but liked the sushi rolls and our desserts. This was a great way to have dinner before seeing a show in the Yoshi's theater area. We will definitely do this again.
Great Food - we were there for Roomful of Blues. What a great band! Please get them back soon.
First time my husband and I ate at Yoshi's. The sushi/sashimi was very fresh and the prices average. The atmosphere was very lively and energetic. The sound bounced off the windows - so very hard to have a private conversation. The live music in the auditorium after was EXCELLENT! Love having the restaurant staff pick our seats - all good seats. Love the acoustics, ticket prices, and convenience. Looking forward to another date night and group event.
Service was poor due to the busy-ness of the venue. Food was too salty and I had two plates returned. Other items were ok but not a place to rave about its dishes. Waitress was apologetic but still didn’t have a great experience here tonight.
Very disappointing. We arrived early (4:30pm) in anticipation of a long awaited evening out and received the worst service by Alex. We were completely neglected while the table of 4 that arrived after us were waited on and very well attended to throughout the evening and received their appetizers and dinner before us. We never received our appetizer and was told after a half hour wait that Kobe appetizer can take a long while - no apology, though. The waiter never checked on us and we had to flag other staff several times to get the menu's removed from our table that had been sitting there long after we finished our salads and to remove our dishes. We had to ask another waitress to order dessert for us . The waiter brought our bill which came to about $78 dollars (minus my 2nd glass of wine) and thought perhaps he didn't charge for the 2nd glass as compensation for the lack of service and forgotten appetizer. When we gave him the credit card, he came back with the receipt to sign and it was increased to $98 dollars....we gave him a very large tip in spite of the horrible service. For the price of dinner and the terrible service, they should have apologized and not charged for the dessert or the glass of wine - he didn't care at all. He attended to all the other "4 tops" perhaps thinking he'd get a larger tip?? I will think twice about eating there again before a show....the staff at the front desk told us check in at 5:15pm and when we went back up they said it's 5:30pm - no greeting or smile of any kind when you come into Yoshi's....the bartenders Alana and Sara were wonderful, though! Alana was friendly and attentive !
Dinner and a show ..... awesome entertainers and fine dining go hand in hand and Yoshis makes the whole experience a seamless one with everything under one roof. Best deal in town!!!!
Enjoyed the calamari & brussel sprouts!! Our waiter Not a fan of sushi. Our waiter & server were great!!! I had great experience!! Enjoyed the show as well.
I've had drinks/dinner and watched a show. I love Yoshis - it's nice for casual and otherwise. I am HUGE on customer service. The waitress seemed really distracted, not very attentive and that 's something that made the experience good and NOT great. I hope the next time I am there I can get the full experience.
Yoshi's is a consistently superb experience. The menu offers a good variety of fresh, appealing, and delicious dishes, the cocktails and wine list are , the food is fantastic and the music can't be beat. The perfect place for a wonderful night out.
Delicious Food, Great Execution, Friendly Informative Server, Immediate Service.
Great Entertainment, Joey DE Francesco Trio was very entertaining.
Yoshi's is one of the best restaurants in the SF Bay Area. Definitely a place to come with foodies and goes way beyond standard Japanese cuisine. Portion sizes are just right with something for all tastes. Come prepared to share dishes. Outstanding bartending with unusual house favorites.
Always a good time at Yoshi's...Food was great as always, and a special treat was Dave Jackson and The Real Gospel Band.
It was a date night
Rachelle Ferrell show
My first time visiting Yoshi's in Oakland and my sister and I had an awesome dinner and show with Rachelle Ferrell. Our waiter Nic was fantasic; starter, meal and dessert were delicious - the entire evening is most memorable.
We will definitely be back for other events in the near future!
Went to Yoshi’s for a family birthday dinner and a concert. We had a great server great meal and the concerts at Yoshi’s are always so much fun!
I waited over 30 minutes after being seated before a waiter took my order. This was unacceptable. The fish entree was bland and overpriced. The food offerings inside of the club/music venue are better and more reasonably priced. We only decided to eat in the restaurant so that we would have good seats for the show. If I choose this option again, I will only have an appetizer in the restaurant.
The service was very nice, however the food was disappointing. The pork chops and the fish was very dry, over cooked. I have been to Yoshi’s many times and have been a fan for years back to the previous location so I was very disappointed to have such an unappetizing meal.
Had an excellent meal before attending a performance by Rachelle Ferrell. Portions were larger than one might expect , fresh, delicious and a good value. Service was excellent, also, and the Server helped us to pick out and reserve the best and most accessible seats for the upcoming performance. Every one there was vey accommodating.
Dinner and concert with wife and friends
Expensive. Bad menu - like 3 options rebranded 3 times each. Desert was good.
We went to an event at Yoshis and had dinner beforehand. The food was very average but the risotto with scallops was so sweet that we could not eat it. Also our server was overwhelmed with other tables and pretty much ignored us throughout.
Great Food! Great Service! Great Menu Selection! Great seats for the Jazz Club if you dine with them.
Great experience, good food and service. Would recommend to friends.
Driving there from San Francisco was a little misleading because looked like a lot of vacant warehouse along harbor but then you get to redeveloped area where Yoshi’s is and once you enter you see and feel the Asian atmosphere. Thaw food was great and server was well versed on menu choices and made excellent recommendations. We went there for Spyro Gyra concert and did not have to worry about concert seating because they did it for you while you dined and the seats we were assigned were with a good view of the musicians. They even brought our deserts to us in the concert area so we would not miss anything ! Excellent!!!
