The entire experience was fantastic! The moment we sat down the service was great! The food and drinks were delicious! And, of course, the music was the biggest treat with Carlos Reyes and his vocalist who joined him on the 2nd and 3rd sets!!! We were even able to have a photo with them!
It was my friend’s first time at Yoshi’s. She was visiting from Chicago area. She thought everything was outstanding!
I highly recommend Yoshi’s and Carlos Reyes!
Sat us down and never came back to our table. We left twenty minutes later
First time here and absolutely loved it!! Can’t wait until shows start happening
The duck spring roll was amazing and sashimi was excellent. Would definitely recommend both.
Hooray Yoshi’s is back! The food is great, the service is wonderful, and the live music is outstanding! It’s understandable that they are the premier jazz club restaurant in the Bay Area. We can’t wait to go again!
Had a wonderful evening eating great food and listening to Carlos Reyes.
Great service Great food and great music by Carlos Reyes
Sound level too high and music chaotic and too loud and poor quality sound. Had to yell across table as well as everyone else yelling.
Fantastic sushi. Live music in the restaurant. Open air flow from back side of restaurant. Delightful server (Stephen). Welcoming staff across the board. HAPPY Yoshi's is still in business and catering beautifully to a lively, warm, diverse community here in Oakland.
Don't forget to request a table near the live music. Otherwise you get them on a TV screen.
Easy parking, friendly service, world renowned music, terrific food and drink, great place for a special occasion.
Yoshi’s was a fabulous dining experience for our family group. Fun atmosphere, live band was great, the food was delicious.
The food is always delicious. And of course the entertainment is marvelous!
Had a fantastic evening.
The Spirit of Love was obvious.
The music was A++++
Will definitely return!
Keep up the good work.
A great place to eat sushi and black cod fish. From the hostess to the servers and the chefs, this is a place that has great ambiance and a relaxed setting smile, dance and eat great. Thanks Yoshis!
Food is great. Love that live music is provided throughout dinner. Highly recommend for special occasions.
The server Ken was very attentive and the food at Yoshi's is always great. I had the best salmon there I've had in a very long time. There was incredible live music as a part of the dining experience provided by virtuoso harpist/violinist Carlos Reyes and equally gifted guitarist Rolando Morales. Loud enough to enjoy, but not so loud that you couldn't carry on a conversation.
Awesome! Carlos Reyes always delivers. Food and service were spot on!
The dinner performers were the key for me. Fabulous conection with the audience. Intimate, like a party at a friends house. Loved the seafood fritters
At long last, so wonderful to return to Yoshi's for excellent sushi, appetizers, yummy desserts (love the churros), attentive service and great live music (free). We really enjoyed Carlos Reyes, phenomenal harpist (on small stage surrounded by plexiglass in the dining room, 6-8 pm) during our dinner. Check their website for music lineup and reservations. Starting 7/9 Yoshi's club venue will open. So exciting!
My first sit down meal inside a restaurant in about 14 months. Glad it Yoshi's. I was able to introduce it to someone new.
Great service and super fresh sushi. It was also nice to be entertained by a live music duo while dining. So refreshing after covid! Will return.
Went to Yoshi's last night for dinner, understanding that they are not putting on live shows just yet due to the pandemic. However, unexpectedly, they had a live music duo performing in the main dining room and they were pumping that music into the theatre where they were also serving dinner. We ended up sitting in the theatre in a booth which was quite nice.
The only real drawback was that the music was just way too loud! When we arrived to check in for a reservation, the gentleman behind the plexiglass could not hear what I was saying nor could I hear what he was saying. We ended up shouting at each other to be heard above the blasting speakers. While Yoshi's is a music venue, the dining room typically is not and we had expected to be able to have a dinner where conversation was possible. Even in the theatre where we were seated for dinner, the music was so loud that we asked if it was possible to lower the volume a bit so that we could actually hear each other at the table. Wanting to give credit where it's due, the duo singing was quite good and finished off their final set with a rousing rendition of Bobby Mcgee sung by the female singer in an excellent imitation of Janice Joplin! The food was delicious and fairly priced for the quality, however, at $15 each across the board, the cocktails were overpriced by $2-$3.
The service was attentive and everyone was very nice. Our primary server, Steven, was a delight!
Our dinner at Yoshis Oakland was exqusit. The food was amazing, the chefs seem to be very professional and nice to look at. Our waiter was friendly and courteous. The food was just amazing! Definitely recommend!
The food was amazing, with an incredibly friendly and helpful staff. The 2 person band that Played was so talented, and uplifting! My experience was magical and I can’t wait to return!
Friday night date night. On a whim went to see Carlos Reyes play and had a great time.
Wonderful food. Great service.
Great food and great service
Great venue. Atmosphere great
Great service, fun atmosphere, terrific live music, and tasty food!
As always, dinner at Yoshis was perfect in every way. We go back as often as we can! Music is always great, food is fabulous, service incredible.
Great food, great music
Loved the jazz music with dinner! Have never even heard a harp like that before.
Service was excellent, good was fantastic, love music was lovely. Quite spendy; worth it, but not a bargain spot.
Excellent, overpriced food. Our server definitely had an attitude which did not make us feel welcome.
Wonderful service! Food was delicious.
Last night was great. Live music and food was awesome.
I am a vegan chef. I was very happy with the vegan options. The food was excellent, delicious, eye pleasing. Very simple but exciting. The dinner music was over the top great. Carlos Reyes and Janis Maxie Reid. So inspiring. Yoshi’s definitely lived up to it’s name in offering the best.
