Shrimp & Scallops 'Kakiage' Fritter
salmon, cream cheese, avocado, cucumber, soy paper
Tiger Shrimp Tempura
Pleasant staff. Helpful. Knowledgeable. Plates were hit and miss. Loved the confit rolls. Tempura shrimp very good but sauce was nothing more than a few lines of hot sauce. Nigiri was hit and miss. Some pieces delicious others not even close. Toad Hollow chard a nice replacement for another chard.
Judy Collins show was excellent. Hosts, box office staff all good.
We had an 8:00 PM dinner reservation and 7 PM jazz show reservations. They expected the show to run longer than an hour. So, they allowed us to look at the menu before the show So that wanted to order in advance. The kitchen closes at 8:30 PM, at least on Sunday.
The food was amazing! I ordered the spinach and bacon salad. The dinner-sized plate of sale was surrounded by candied walnuts. It was enough to feed three people. My husband ordered the spicy chicken. He raved how moist it was and said it was not hot-spicy at all.
This was our first jazz experience and loved it. They only have the top talent at this venue. I definitely plan on returning.
We stayed at The Waterfront Hotel and it was about a block away.
Great food, courteous service, fun ambiance at a fair price. I highly recommend it, especially before a show at the same location.
Enjoyed a ton ! Food was perfect ! Great deal and great items on the Omakase menu ! Hard to beat !
Amazing location, great food.
Yoshi's has been my favorite place to enjoy jazz and have an excellent dinner.
Thought that tables would be at a safe distance to keep with the covid-19 measures but unfortunately Yoshi's does not really care about that I suppose. I was not comfortable being so close to people coughing next to us. Love the jazz venue but the restaurant experience was not a good one.
No better place to enjoy great food, world class entertainment in an intimate setting that’s second to none. And all with convenient parking a few steps from the front door. Couldn’t ask for anything more. Highly recommended and you can be sure we’ll be back again and again.
The food is fantastic and the fact that it enables close seating is an excellent perk. Food is pricey, but the overall value when attending an event is well worth it.
We started with Miso soup, then had Tiger Shrimp Tempura, Warriors Roll, Veggie Roll and the Tofu/Fried Avocado Soba Noodle Soup. For dessert the Brownie and Beignets. Hot Sake, Sauvignon Blanc, and a Latte. Everything was exceptional!!
All of the following were amazing - salmon, ribeye (cut with a butter knife), edamame, broccolini, california roll. Waitress was so on top of it, and even took special requests from me for where I wanted to sit for the show after dinner.
It’s going to be a mixed review not to criticize but hopefully to help Yoshis improve. I’ve immediately noticed stains on chairs and even the carpet and that can be easily cleaned I think. It takes away from the dining experience. Food on the menu hasn’t changed in a long time I don’t think and it is also not a very sensitive stomach proof menu would like that changed some day. Also I am no vegan or vegetarian but I can not eat pig for reasons of faith snd for health reasons as well and that was definitely on the menu. I have lactose intolerance but it was hard to find deserts which didn’t include some kind of dairy and that’s a shame too. Otherwise service was excellent, friendly and professional. It gets a bit noisy as it gets busier to a point that one can no longer hear a fraught train going by. It is also a bit expensive on the Menu just a tad overpriced. I hope you take this as a friends suggestion to make your wonderful place better and not as a complaint from an unsatisfied person which I am not. I am grateful to be able to come to this place and I say with total honesty this place makes San Francisco Bay Area a better place to live and to visit. Thank you for being the jewel of the bay. Best wishes and many thanks and May God keep you prosperous and successful for many more decades… Salute!!!
Came here to have dinner with work friends and had a wonderful experience. Made a reservation, and they seated us while we didn’t have everyone in our party attended. Our sever Alex was very nice and we had a great dinner. Would definitely be coming here again.
It was good to be back at Yoshi's. There were some inconveniences, but we understand this is a hard time for restaurants.
However, we didn't know Yoshi's does not require vaccinations!! We will return once again when they do. I cannot recommend them until that happens either.
Everything was very tasty. Edamame, rolls, miso chicken, scallop/crab fritter. Server was outstanding (Robert).
Having never been at Yoshi's and heard so much about, the food, staff and entertainment was outstanding. To the waiter at happy hour, the waiter for dinner (wanted to hug him), the staff person talking to the people coming in to sit for the show (loved his sayings/comments/directions). Yoshi's is a class act and would definitely recommend to friends.
Great food, Great music, great staff. I'd go there every night if I could!
The food is always fresh and amazing. Impeccable service
Yoshi's is a wonderful place to go for a good authentic japanese meal.
Our favorite sushi place and the music is the icing on the cake!
We loved it! Food delicious and presentation tops!
Tables were too close together however. Waiter was squeezing through to serve us . And that’s the ONLY negative I could say!!!!!
Will def be back!
What a perfect venue for food AND MUSIC…… so very COOL !!!!!
(Wish we were closer)
As always, the food was amazing and the show was fantastic!!!
Was very loud. Food was good. A bit on the speedy side for the portions we received. Food took quite some time after order to be delivered. First they brought the wrong entree for a member of our party and then forgot the 2nd part of the order all together. By the time we got our order we had to rush thru dinner to be on time for the show. 2nd time in 2 shows there that we had server issues. Disappointing.
Great sushi and other dishes. My wife had the salmon it was excellent. I enjoyed the scallops and pork belly...yummmmie... Lastly, make a evening out of it with a live show.
Everything was excellent from the time you walk in. We were there for dinner and the concert and I called 1st to get information about where we get the tickets and when we got there they had everything set up to make it as simple as possible, get tickets from will call then show your host and they seat you for dinner and then you just enjoy the experience !!! Great food and drinks, great service and especially a Great time!!!
I was there for dinner before the Norman Brown show so the restaurant is always very busy on these nights. My server seemed overwhelmed and did not check in with me like I thought he should have. I had a hard time getting his attention when I needed it. I even had to ask for my check at the end of my meal. The food was Luke warm and greasy. It hasn’t been in the past and I had to ask for additional water. I have 2 more shows coming up and I would like to give Yoshis my business. I hope these concerns can be addressed and corrected.
Amazing food as always. Since we made reservations for dinner, we were able to get seats saved for the show we were attending.
Always excellent service
Great service! Really good food. Awesome environment. The only thing I would say needs replacing is the furniture. Other than that we had a great time there.
I took a lady friend there for the third time because she really enjoys everything about it.
I feel good making her happy!
Came from Sacramento for the Norman Brown Concert
Good food, service and ambiance at Yoshi's Oakland. I recommend.
Yoshi’s never disappoints, the food & entertainment are always top notch.👍🏾
We were seated at the window, as requested, and the hostess was very gracious when we asked to be reseated at another window seat to escape a loud talker near our original table.
Our server was friendly, helpful with honestly assessing the size of portions, and suitable wines.
All in all, an enjoyable night out.
Smooth, courteous service. Great to be back here once again.
Great food, service and a great show afterwards (The Sons of Champlin)!!
Every dish we had was excellent, as was our server. The sushi was fresh and delicious. Loved each dish we ordered. For some reason, the table was sticky. I told our server, who called someone over to wipe the table down. Still sticky. I dipped my napkin in the table water to wipe the table and the napkin was filthy from whatever was on the table. Clearly, whatever they are using to wash the tables isn't cutting through.
I know I'll have a good night out when we head to Yoshi's Restaurant and nightclub.
Our waiter, Nick was terrific and from the front of the house to the back it was as close to perfect as you can get. The Spinners put on a top notch show.
We'll be back for Blood Sweat and Tears.
Great food, service and atmosphere! Plus if you dine at Yoshi’s before your show…you get up close seating! We had an awesome time!
One of the best shows in sometime. Food was excellent too!
