Yorgos Restaurant & Lounge
When we first walked into the restaurant the gentleman at the door immediately yelled and pointed at us that there were no tables for twenty minutes, startling both my husband and I. I explained that we had reservations for 11am - he then got us a table a few minutes later. We sat for about 15 minutes before someone asked us for our drink/food order. I asked for hot chocolate and was told "I definitely didn't want it" - then eventually we received our food order by 11:40am. The food was okay, especially for the reasonable price. But it wasn't worth the 45 minute drive we made to the restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. Truly the experience could've been better had the older gentleman at the door been polite and inviting vs startling and honestly, quite rude. Throughout our visit we could hear him continue to address several customers in the same manner. We looked forward to getting our bill so we could leave. Overall, a disappointing experience & do not plan on returning.
Used to love this restaurant. Even had my daughter's wedding rehearsal dinner here a year ago. I made this reservation through Open Table. When I arrived at the correct time, I was told they had no record of my reservation. Despite empty tables, the rude owner dismissed me, refused to seat me and told me to come back another time. Too many fine dining options in Lancaster. Will not dine here again.
The place was empty when we arrived at 6:00 pm. Sat in the bar area. Server/hostess was delightful and very friendly. Mussels were to die for! My brisket was delicious and hubby’s branzino (fish) was done perfectly. The AC vent was pouring out freezing cold air on me all night. The bill was pretty hefty.
Sat on the rooftop! Great experience! Delish!
Beautiful facility. Arrived at reservation time and did not have our table ready on first floor. Ended up going to 3rd floor and waited until they put tables together. Service very slow. Food was delicious. Great sax player to eat by.
Everything was awesome and our waitress did a phenomenal job!
Thanks Yorgos Staff
Awful, awful food poorly prepared. Only bright spot was our server, Dave.
Great food Great service. What more can you ask. This was a terrific “find”.
We were greeted and made to feel welcome by the owner, Yorgo, himself. He gave us a tour of the three floors of his restaurant. We dined on the second floor and had a lovely quiet dinner until a large party of 20 was seated beside us. At that point we could barely hear each other and we hurried to finish our meal. The staff was friendly. The food was amazing and presented beautifully. The only damper on our evening was the large, loud diners at the end.
We had an early dinner at Yiorgos, three of us ordered entrees which came with salad. Honestly and sadly for us, only the salad was good. The souvlaki chicken seemed under cooked and the chunks of meat were very small. The moussaka was cold and unremarkable. Spanakopita was same, cold and actually seemed like no cheese was in the greens. The scoop of rice was also cold, clumpy, and not freshly made. We were very disappointed as well as in the service taking way to long for our drinks and we asked for bread and received none.
Never again entering here.
We ate upstairs at Kefi - outstanding in every way. The food, the service, ambiance, and price. We each ordered something different and everyone raved about the quality of the food. You won’t be disappointed with this pick.
Awesome! The service was excellent and the food was spectacular. I can't Wait to return with family & friends!!!
Delicious food and good service. We sat on the 3rd floor and it was very spacious and nice.
The food and service were excellent. I gave a 4 for ambiance only because the table was pretty small. It is a little pricey but we will return anyway because the food is so good. We were on the outside dining area so it was a little bit more noisier but it did not take away from anything. I highly recommend Yorgos.
Fairly poor service, slow at times, server spoke very quietly, could barely hear her. Lamb chops delicious, prime rib bland, nothing special, even though $48!! Ridiculous! Nice ambience, friendly people, but not a memorable experience.
Friendly and attentive service. Really great grilled meats and seafood. Everything was excellent
Sat on the 3rd floor and had a wonderful meal. From start to finish, everything was amazing. We will definitely be coming back.
This was a great dining experience. The son of the original Greek owner is very involved in the guest experience and makes you feel completely at home. Would recommend rooftop seating if the humidity isn’t too bad. Food was great, as were the drinks. Authentic Greek fare that does not disappoint! 5 stars all the way
Wonderful visit to the restaurant! The food was tasty and generous portion size. The staff and owner treated us like VIPs- their warmth and hospitality was felt throughout the restaurant.
Excellent food. We had a reservation but I don’t think we would have needed it. The staff were very attentive.
Fabulous experience. Food was tradition and excellent.
Excellent Greek food, personable service, overall a great meal and experience. We'll be back because we missed out on Mama's rice pudding.
Lamb chops were awesome, quite atmosphere and pleasant evening! Thank you!!
Oysters were a special…They were puny! Complained and were taken off the bill. Ordered LIGHTLY Fried Calamari - was served like fried chicken. Ordered salads with blue cheese dressing with our dinners. Blue cheese dressing was like cheap store bought dressing. Dinners came out less than three minutes after we were served our salads. Only saving grace was that the main entrées were better prepared. Had to send back the side of sweet Potato Casserole that was served cold and without its topping. The waitress was very apologetic with every serving blunder.
This was our first and last experience with this restaurant. BEWARE!
Excellent food, great service. Lovely rooftop dining area.
We arrived at 530 left at 8.
The food took forever to come.
Enjoyed every minute! Lamb chops were exceptional!!
We really like yorgos and made a reservation for Mother’s Day at 11:30. I didn’t see any special menu noted online, so assumed at that time we could do breakfast or lunch, since it was after 11. When we got there, there were only breakfast menus. When we asked, our waitress told us that on the weekends they serve breakfast only until 1 pm, which was disappointing. We still ate there, and were pretty disappointed when we saw two tables that came in shortly after us with both breakfast and lunch menus. We overheard the host telling them they could order off of either one. Our waitress wasn’t super friendly so I can only assume we were told we could only have breakfast because she didn’t want to serve lunch? Overall, be aware that you apparently can’t get lunch here on the weekends until after 1 pm.
My husband's burger arrived after all of us had finished our meals. There was no real acknowledgement or big apology for the error or even a discount offered for his food. It was a very strange situation that should have been addressed by management.
Very mixed experience. 6 of us for Mother’s Day. Despite having a reservation there were no tables available when we arrived. When I said “but we have a reservation” the owner said “but we don’t have any tables”....he wasn’t exactly rude, but certainly wasn’t pleasant either. Our waitress was great but service was slow (they seemed short staffed). Coffee/drinks were empty more than once for a while without checking on us. They got one of our orders completely wrong. Again, our waitress was very nice and responsive and the food was very good.
Worth going back but they have some opportunities for a better customer experience.
My daughter graduated from college and they gave her a lovely chocolate cake which we all shared and it was amazing !
The drinks, food and service were excellent! It was our first time dining here and we will definitely be back!
The food was so delicious. We ordered the cheese flambé, tuna carpaccio, mezza sampler, baklava and rice pudding. Everything was so good. Service was great! We will definitely be visiting again!
Really only a bar the Resturant part was closed so very sad Sunday dinner
I made a reservation and upon walking in the owner straight up said he did not have room for us. I tried talking to him and he continually cut me off. After he gave us a spot outside we sat there for 30 minutes and no one even came over to get our drink orders.
Great atmosphere, outdoor dining in the globe was great!!!!
I wanted to patronize the local establishments that remained opened during the absurd mandate. I applaud you and having been in the restaurant industry for 2 decades, I would certainly have followed suit!
We usually hang out downstairs, but was pleasantly surprised with the casual ambiance upstairs. the food was exceptional and the service was very pleasing. I loved the Greek special while my wife enjoyed the crab cakes.....see you in about 2-3 weeks!
Amazing food and personable servers. Went above and beyond for my fiance's birthday. Had a little card and dessert on the house.
The kitchen was very backed up, so our order took overly long. We were charged for pita bread when we asked for something while we were waiting, and didn't realize there would be an upcharge. The chicken artichoke dish was overdone, the grits were underdone and the garlic mashed potatoes were cold. Our waitress apologized several times. The lamb dish was delicious.
Good place, has 3 floors to explore. Would go again and recommend 👌
