YOLO Ratings and Reviews
very mediocre meal for yolo. We have eaten here many times and they were very off in the kitchen this time. The menu has changed, a lot of favorites are gone and it seems that the food quality and cooking has been lowered. Not what they used to be. The medium pork chop was so over cooked, it was like the chef had no idea how to cook one. I could barely cut it with the knife it was so tough. I thought about sending it back but then the whole meal is ruined when one person finishes their food and the other sits there waiting for theirs so I just sat there and ate it. It was horrible. Will take a break from Yolo for a while.
There brunch was very tasty food but portions are very small for the price. We were a group of 5 and we all left this restaurant unsatisfied/hungry. There desserts were terrible. Berry cheesecake was lumpy and chocolate lava molten cake was just bad. I've had better at Chili's and I hate Chili's. I would recommend this restaurant and I would return because the Ambiance was great and the food was delicious. Seems like a great place for a date.
Yolo delivered! Great service and food in a fun atmosphere. We were immediately seated on a busy Friday night. Our waiter Anthony was very attentive and informative. The filet was perfectly cooked medium rare and melted in your mouth. The French dip was delicious as were the salads. Mac n cheese was very good. Espresso was served hot and the lemonchelo was a nice finishing touch. We sat near the open kitchen and we’re able to see the management team at work. They are on top of everything. Every plate is checked and food is promptly delivered. Excellent!
We have been going to Yolo for the past 6 years. We have noticed the same manager for at least the last 3 years... He is Always on the floor, Always a presence. The food is always great and reasonably priced. We were there to celebrate New Years and had the most engaging waiter: Joel. It was a great evening; food great, we were taken the time of our reservation and we were not rushed. We go to Yolo often - in season, however I would not sat they "know us". That is fine, everyone is treated as if they are VIPs.
We will continue to return. We have never had a bad experience!
YOLO is in a great location on Las Olas. There is outdoor seating with heating lamps to offset the cool day. The calamari is great and the shrimp and grits were amazingly flavorful. The peach Bellini was the strongest I’ve ever had.
When in town again, I’ll definitely return.
Food and server were great. We nentioned a piece of foil found in one if our dishes. The manager came over all nervous and apologetic. He offered to take the meal and we said thanks but just wanted you to know. He insisted on free dessert free drinks etc. The server also insisted several times we should have free dessert. We were full and didnt want dessert. Again the server insisted, so we order one dessert to share and 2 espresso. Disappointed to find the dessert (that was supposed to be free and we didnt want anyway) and the entree that had the foil were both on the bill.
YOLO is a great choice in downtown. It's certainly a "go-to" place for business lunches and one is always likely to see friends or business connections there. I've had many lunches there and the food quality is consistently very good. I haven't tried the soup, but my recent lunch partners raved about it. My grilled trout was good to the last bite., and the mashed sweet potato side was delicious.
