YOLO Ratings and Reviews
It’s always hit or miss with the food here for some reason. My last experience was amazing, and I loved the turkey burger so much that I wanted to order it again. This time it was burnt (totally black on both sides and halfway throughout), and I had to send it back. When the manager brought over a newly cooked meal (which took over 15 minutes and my entire party was already finished with their meals), he didn’t even apologize for the inconvenience or ask me how the newly cooked burger was cooked. He simply dropped the burger off and said “sorry for your wait” and walked away. Not good customer service at all. We all were shocked.
Artichoke was tasteless, just charred and oily
Corn dip was fair
Salad with chicken was good
Greek Chicken dish very small ( Big Fat Greek 100 X better)
Wine pour ridiculously small (3 glasses)
We wanted a great place for brunch. We considered the usual, and decided to try something else, YOLO came to mind. Previously, I have only had dinners their and figured I would give it a whirl! It was fabulous!!!! There were four people who were equally pleased with all four dishes. You’ve got to try the grits!!!
So I came in over this past weekend for my birthday and we started out the night right. I was a party of six waiting for my other party members to come join us, and since we didn’t order food fast enough we were rushed out by the waitress saying, “this area is only for diners.” I even left my birthday card.
Great restaurant - great food - excellent ambiance.
I sometimes am disturbed at some restaurants about slow service. In this case, however, the service was quick and super efficient - so much so that I felt rushed and pushed by he waiter. I had the feeling they were pressing me to wrap up my dinner in order to turn the table over to the next patron. Not a huge problem, but worth mentioning.
First time to YOLO, in town & in search of a breakfast spot with mimosas. Did a simple google search & decided to go with YOLO......excellent selection! We sat on the patio which offered a nice ambiance. Boyfriend & i Enjoyed our entrees, (short rib omelette and shrimp & grits. We opted for the bottomless mimosa which didnt disappoint. Our server was very attentive, unfortunately we forgot her name
Had brunch at YOLO. This place is really a happening place at night, but not so much for brunch. Many other places on Las Olas very high energy, but not here. Breakfast food for brunch was over cooked; should have sent back but didn’t. I recommend YOLO at night, but not for brunch
The waitresses were dressed for Halloween... I could barely pay attention to the food I was ordering and eating. Seriously though... great food. Get there early so you don’t have to deal with the people trying to show off. I’d recommend it to anyone who doesn’t mine spending the money on a great meal.
Last night we returned to one of our favorite restaurants. One, unfortunately, we don’t get to enough.
We were graciously greeted by the hostess who had us promptly seated.
Our server, Ana, was so very pleasant and immediately offered us a cocktail and water while we looked over the menu.
The easiest choice you’ll have at Yolo is the Szechuan Calamari for a starter, it’s delicious – a little spicy and, oh, so tasty.
For our entrees I order the Branzino – cooked perfectly with Mediterranean flavors - olives, caper berries, tomatoes, and peppers – in a word, it was delicious.
My partner was less fortunate, he ordered the Pork Chop – in a word, inedible. Sadly, it was so tough he could hardly cut it.
But the story doesn’t end here………
When Ana returned to the table noticing he hadn’t eaten but a few bites she unhesitatingly said there would be no charge for that entrée, offered him any other choice he wanted, and was most apologetic. He ordered the Filet Mignon, a tender piece of meat perfectly cooked to the right temperature. Honestly we dine out at least twice a week, the way Yolo handled this situation was so incredibly nice, this should be the poster restaurant for correctness. I cannot tell you how impressed we were with their attitude. Oh, by the way, at some point the manager came over, totally informed about what had happened, and spoke at length about how it might have occurred and, again, how sorry they were about it.
Yolo sets the bar for how a restaurant should handle their customers.
For Food, Service, and Customer Care Yolo is A++.
I straight out recommend it.
Overall it was a nice night and my finance had a good time. The offered a complimentary desert for him since it was his birthday. In my professional opinion the menu was very 7 years ago and the portions were ridiculously small and over priced and the macaroni and cheese side really wasn't that good and didn't warrant to be on a $35 dish. That was quite disappointing. A little outdated to be a "see and be seen" kind of place on Las Olas.
This restaurant had a lot of atmosphere and was just the right level of busy for a fun date night or a group. The waitress was informative and responsive. The food was very tasty and the menu offered some unique options. If you want o grab a drink before or after dinner, the outdoor bar area is great too!
Choosing entres that are were in 30-40$ range and then having the sides 86'd was unfortunate. Dining has to remain a special time to really study a menu and then craft a personalized meal. When "truth in advertising" becomes an issue in the kitchen, (sometimes it can be a good surprise) it can lower the overall dining experience.
This was by far one of the best dining experiences I've had. From the moment I entered the door to the time I left I was completely taken care of. If my waitress was unavailable the other workers all pitched in and seemed very happy about doing it. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Really enjoyed my experience at YOLO. Went here before a show at the Broward Center. Perfect location for pre-show meal. Food was delicious. We had szechuan calamari, eggs benedict, blueberry mojito, and bread pudding for dessert. Everything was great. Service was a little slow but we got out in time for the show.
