Yoki Japanese Restaurant
Yoki has been one of our favorite locations in the Medford area for the past 3 years. Unfortunately, in the past 6 months the level of attention from service has been horrible. The past 4 times we have been there have not been good service experiences. In our most recent visit there my partner checked in for our reservation, sat at the bar and waited 12 minutes before someone brought menus and asked for drink order. At the end of our dinner our server just disappeared and we had to wait until a bartender came to clear our dishes and ask if we wanted anything else for the evening. Prior to these experiences, service was exceptional.
Food was excellent, nice service, I really enjoyed it! Definitely Coming back!
Great meal with the wife for date night. Our waitress was the best, she was so pleasant and kind. Great service. Strong drinks, yoki is the best!
Delicious food, great service. I wish the lighting and music were quieter.
It was wonderful.
Sushi great. Desserts outstanding
My husband and I LOVE this place!! I love the shumai.
I didn’t think my waitress needed to take off the paper covering off of my chopsticks or pour soy sauce in my dish for me. They were nice gestures, but I didn’t think it was necessary.
Great Staff, great food and the drinks were great!
I am somewhat a sushi snob and find this place consistently has the freshest nigiri.
Remains my favorite Japanese restaurant in or around the city. The hostess and wait staff are wonderful and the food is excellent
My dining at Yoki was mediocre in every way -- from the food that was served to how it was served to the ambiance in which it was served. The sushi was tasty but nothing different from what I could have gotten in many other restaurants. The service was a little slow -- we had to ask for things more than once. It felt like we had to work too hard. I would not tell someone don't go there -- the experience did not merit that kind of response. I just would not recommend Yoki -- there are too many other places where you can go and have food that stands out a bit more with service that makes you feel cared for.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff, great fresh food!!!
Awesome experience all the way around.
Food awesome and very fresh.
Great waitress excellent service.
Hostess at front were all professional and accommodating
Always a great time
We celebrate our grand-daughter ‘s birthday at Yoki for several years.
It was awesome!! Everything was amazing!
Really like this place is really nice for date and special cases
Nice selection of hot and cold tapas to share. We specially enjoyed the street style corn on the cob and the steamed dumplings.
Food was good, not amazing but good. Vibe was strange, techno music playing and bar area very loud. We were in restaurant area and could hear some patrons from the bar area swearing very loudly multiple times. We had our kids with us so it bothered us. Waiter was fine, not super friendly but got the job done. We could barely hear him due to the techno music and asked him several times to repeat himself.
This was our first visit to Yoki after reading an Open Table email about top ten places to try the day before. We had been to many of the other top restaurants on this list, and decided to give Yoki a try. It was ok, but I don't know that we would run back any time soon. It's a hip place for a younger crowd as the location calls for. The bar/seating was vibrant. It was a snowy Saturday night and at 6:15pm, the dining room had many open seats. The server sat us a table in the doorway to the sushi bar room and left us there alone. We immediately changed our seats. It was as if they didn't really care where they put us with our reservation. Our server was fine. He took our drink and food orders and everything was delivered in a timely manner and with explaination. It was all good, don't get me wrong-but not spectacular as the Open Table review had lead us to think. It was fun to visit the Landing location and see all the restaurants and shopping choices available in the development.
It’s a very decent restaurant. The food is good! Can’t find anything bad with Yoki.
Yoki is our go-to for sushi, and on this last visit they did not disappoint. The rolls were full and flavorful and the sushi had the fresh, "clean" flavor that for me distinguishes really good from just average. We will go again, soon.
Sat at the bar, enjoyed Sushi and draft beer. Service was good.
Came here on a date. We ordered their oysters and they had to have been an old batch. The sushi we ordered was nothing great. Will more than likely give this spot another shot in the future. Seems like the bar are has some potential.
Tasting food, friendly staffs and very closely to the orange station.
I love the Hawaiian maki.
The food and service are excellent. The food is beautiful, delicious and very fresh and is creatively presented! The negative is the noise level is not conducive to any conversation. It is loud and the "techno effect" is migraine inducing. We asked if it could be turned down, but were told no.
While the restaurant looks like a thousand other sushi joints, the food here is excellent.
We ordered sashimi platters, which came with miso soup and salad.
Each piece of sashimi was a generous slice of goodness; that night we received octopus, yellowtail, salmon, snapper, and tuna. I added an order of unagi, which just melted in our mouths.
If we lived closer, we would definitely dine there again!
This is an amazing restaurant great bar, great service, amazing food!!! Love this place.... will be a Regular here!!
It was my birthday and Yoki made it a great time! The scorpion bowl was a great price and tasted wonderful (felt good too haha). The sushi is always well prepared and with a huge variety to choose from we basically made a sampler style! The staff is very good at paying attention but not being overbearing. Would highly recommend for sushi around Boston.
Our server Wanda was very attentive and excellent! The Agedashi tofu soup is the best in the greater Boston area. We did not have to wait long for our food. The sushi is well made and there is a lot of choices.
Family get together
Great attentive staff. The food was fresh. Tables were clean.
Absolutely loved the food and the waitress was super nice. Highly recommend going to the restaurant!
Great good, great service. I frequent this place!
Great spot for a large group. Sushi was excellent, the neighbors had the teriyaki which smelled great. Service was attentive and helpful. Ambiance was slightly lacking, street parking in the area could be tough on busy days but there is a garage (not sure of price). It was on the pricier side for sushi but that's understandable given the location.
Baby back ribs were delicious, and I also had the Spicy Salmon Maki, wasn't spicy, but still really good. Service was quick, and parking was easy to find.
Food is always incredible here. you must try the street corn with garlic butter and chili powder. nice variations on dishes that mnake this place stand out.
Our server Rhonda, one of the best servers ive had in years. hard worker and attentive. only reason i gave a 4 out of 5 was the note to restaurant for special requests was never read. so i had to explain again that we were celebrating my mother birthday and re-requested a few things. including Rhonda
The kitchen accommodated my request for shrimp and vegetable tempura to be served as a dinner rather than appetizer. The batter was light an crisp. My wife's hibachi steak was as ordered, medium rare, and also tasty. The dessert selection leaves much to be desired, however. We wanted to share some ice cream but had to order the tempura batter deep-fried version.
