Yo Sake Downtown Sushi Lounge Ratings and Reviews
I have been to Yosake several times now and the food is incredible. I was there last weekend for a girl's weekend dinner and I always bring out of town guests to Yosake. Unfortunately, even with a reservation we had to wait 15 minutes and our service was horrible the entire meal, and not once did our waitress apologize. As a former server I find this disappointing and makes me second guess returning, especially with guests.
We didn't get drinks for 30 minutes then it was just water.
The blueberry mojito was all sprite, no rum.
The "pimp shrimp" had rock hard cold shrimp, the sweet and sour chicken was mushy and the forbidden rice had an offputting flavor unlike other times I've had it.
The sushi bowl was bland and flavorless and the sticky rice was mushy not sticky as advertised.
The waitress was great and did the best she could but overall we won't be going back again, which is sad and it has highly recommended to us by a friend and person who visited frequently.
We LOVE Yosake! We go every couple weeks and always have excellent service and fantastic food. He is a chef and I was a longtime bartender and as far as we can tell they are doing everything right in every way. They are great about reserving our favorite table when it is possible and that means a lot to us. I recommend Yosake every chance I get! My only qualm is that it is quite loud inside when it it busy, but that is due to the acoustics of the room--they keep the music at a reasonable volume and there is never commotion coming from staff, kitchen or the bar. Yosake is definitely in my all time top 5 spots in all of Wilmy.
We were visiting Our two boys who attend UNCW and stayed for the summer. We have been to
Yosake before but this was fun bc our boys are now over 21.They enjoyed the different beer and Sake . The bartender was so nice to walk us through the different types of sake wo making us feel like knuckle heads like some wine connoisseur do.Yosake is a place with excellent food ,good ambiance ,great service and affordable. If in Wilmington this needs to be on your list.
The service was horrible. He would disappear for 15 minutes at a time and got everyone's order wrong multiple times. He also was just not friendly. We have nut allergies and my fiancé had an allergic reaction and we had to leave. After asking for the peanuts to be left off. He said, "they were supposed to leave them off" and then stared at us. The waiter was not apologetic about any of this. Then to top it off, there was a buy an entree, get one $10 off that night and we had to leave due to the reaction and he wouldn't honor the deal as we had to take our food to go. Not to mention the reason we had ordered 2 more meals is because he got the first two wrong and didn't offer to fix them. Just said I will take them off the bill. But obviously we went there hungry and wanted to eat a meal. Overall terrible experience! I will say the sweet and sour chicken was really good, but not worth all of that. It ruined our friend's birthday dinner.
We made our debut at Yosake on Valentine's Day. The waitress, Katie, was helpful, efficient and charming. The food was delicious. We had the Generoll sushi for an appetizer, which was delicious. My wife had the massaman curry and I had the chicken teriyaki for our main courses. We were both extremely happy with our choices. We thoroughly enjoyed the ambience and the entire dining experience. We will definitely be back.
The food & drinks were great. However, service was a little slow. Granted it was a Saturday night & busy, ..but still. The waitress was nice, but forgot we ordered another drink at one point,so had to remind her. There was a large b-day party table behind us, so somewhat understandable, but maybe the drink should have been comped for forgetting. Was also a loud in there. Expected to some degree, but was pretty loud.
