About Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse
The highest quality Texas prime beef is the main focus at the Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse but its legendary for its extensive wild game selection, and many of those same animals roam freely over our 48,000 acre ranch and namesake near Kerrville, Texas.
For those in the mood to try something out of the ordinary, the Y.O. offers venison, elk, wild boar, game birds, and our signature dish, the buffalo filet mignon.
Most of the beef at the Y.O. is local Texas Black Angus beef and hand cut in house. We employ a method very similar to the one the ranch hands have been using for more than 125 years.
The Y.O Steakhouse private dining, bar and banquet facilities can accommodate parties from 20-300 for business or pleasure, day or night. Your guests will experience a uniquely Texan and memorable dining experience combined with the highest quality food and service available.

Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
First rate food and excellent , attentive service from Marcos. Very disappointed to be stuck in the three-table storage room between the main dining room and the banquet hall in the back. Special evening with our college-aged daughter who attends college in Dallas, but noise level in super small mini-dining room was way too loud and the ambiance was more like a giant closet than a beautiful dining hall. Really want to like this place... the food was first rate (if a bit pricey) and our server was outstanding. Just disappointed at spending $250 for a non-ambient, noisy meal.
We booked Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse on a recommendation by phone from the OMNI Dallas Concierge. It lived up to its billing for great steak.
They contacted me the day before the reservation and our table for 8 was ready when we arrived. The waiter was attentive, but not in our way. His recommendations and that of the OMNI doorman as we headed out were right on.
The steak was so tender, you could eat it without a knife! The wine list had a good range - we chose a Napa Silver Ghost Cab Sav and enjoyed 2 bottles of it along with some good local beer.
Overall, it was good value for the money - about $100 / person for a great meal with attentive service that my clients thanked me for the following day. I'd highly recommend it.
Very disappointed! We went with a reservation and were sat promptly. Waitress was a bit unfriendly and seemed to be put out by not wanting to wait on someone to make a decision on what kind of drink they were going to have. So a beer was ordered and it took so long for everyone else’s speciality drinks to be made that the beer was luke warm. All of our steaks were not cooked correctly, “ Rare was medium, medium rare was rare and medium was rare” baked potato were cold and when asked to warm them our waitress made new ones and by the time she returned we were finished. The manager was very apologetic and we were not looking for anything to be discounted but he had taken our bake potatoes off the bill when the bill was brought to the us.
Awesome wild game, service was on point! Came for my husband’s birthday with our sons, and they enjoyed the ambiance as well. The food was absolutely delicious - started with the bacon-wrapped venison, scallops, and house salad. The wild game trio was prepared to perfection, as was the 24oz Porterhouse - more than enough to share for family of 4. The spinach was fine, and that mac&cheese was too good! We completely finished it lol! For his birthday, my husband chose the lemon and blueberry cheesecake, compliments of the house, which was a very sweet gesture. Loved it!!
I came here for Thanksgiving dinner. The chef seemed more interested in his personal guests than the execution of his dishes coming out of the kitchen. I had the quail that was a tad undercooked, and overall the seasoning and flavor were off. I do understand that everyone's "traditional" Thanksgiving doesn't taste the same, but this had a very little flare or uniqueness and the sauces tasted like they came from a box. The establishment itself has great reviews, so I think they just didn't nail it with this Thanksgiving menu.
We were looking for great steak and wild game meat options, great sides, good drinks, and hoping to provide an old friend and sons a great dining experience. YO gave us all those things and we would definitely dine at the YO Ranch Steak House again; hopefully soon.
We went for my brothers birthday cause he heard of this from a friend. There were 7 and a baby. Our server Ivan was excellent. He interacted with the baby and was very very nice. He told us his recommendations and told us a lot about the menu. The food was very very very good. We all got something different so we could see a lot of the menu. The bone in ribeye and the bone in filet with bone marrow butter was GREAT. Would definitely go there again.
I was a little disappointed to find myself in a touristy sort of restaurant. The clientele was dressed in very casual T-shirts, so for a steak house in downtown Dallas, my expectations were a little too high. The food was good. They had a good wine list with a 2013 Caymus. There was a large offering of "wild game". I ordered the buffalo, boar sausage and elk chop. The meat was tender and good, but it wasn't from the Y.O. Ranch as we had anticipated. So this is a casual steak restaurant, with a good meal, but not an over-the-top experience.
Great restaurant. The service and the food was spot on.
The venison wraps were outstanding. I have recomened them to friends
and we are plannig a dinner trip to try more of the wild game entrees.
We enjoyed the Dallas World Aquarium on this trip,it is only 2 blocks from the YO.
Server Was Great!
The Restaurant’s Atmosphere Was Chili’s Like..... This Is A Tourist Trap Restaurant..... We Bought Two Porterhouses And A Ribeye. Along With The Steaks, We Ordered Three Salads And Two Sides (EVERYTHING IS A LA CARTE).
As Well, We Ordered 2 Glasses Of Wine And A 2 Finger Glenlivet 12 ($22.00)...... Our Bill, Including 20% Tip Was $323+/- A Few Dollars.
Other Than Our Server..... Which Again, Was Absolutely Fantastic..... The Food Was Comparable To The Sizzler....(Not Kidding.). This Place Is, As I Mentioned Before..... A “Tourist Trap”.
I Gaurantee, No Dallas Residents.... Ever Go There More Than Once..... The Food Would Never Promote/Carry Repeat Clientel.
I Believe Everyone Has Gotten The Picture.
