The food was amazing but our service was lacking. My husband and I were sat at our table and promptly forgotten about. We watched two other tables be seated and given menus before we finally flagged someone down and asked for menus. They comped our first round of drinks to make up for the oversight. What really irritated me about the service was that our server repeatedly referred to my husband and I as young man and young lady. We are both 30 years old and did not appreciate this.
Will be back everything was perfect for a perfect night
The food was amazing and the service was top notch
Every aspect of our dinner was fantastic. The hostess greeted me with a smile, the bartenders were friendly and conversational, our server was knowledgeable and fun, and the food was excellent.
Lunch choices had a good variety. Dailey soup and specials were prepared great. The Chili offering had the right balance of spice, heat and flavor. Highly recommen.
It was Mother’s Day. The room we were in was very noisy due to the piped in music. But they immediately turned it way down when we asked them to do so. The food was outstanding. Out waiter, Ivan, was great and very pleasant.
Went with a group of 10, service was awful, reserved table wasn’t ready, food was mediocre and we waited longer for our checks than out whole experience of eating and ordering. Would not recommend
The service was excellent and the food was delicious! Their house salad dressing is phenomenal, steaks were amazing, and the sides were delicious (we recommend the Brussel sprouts!). Highly recommend!!
I was quite disappointed. My first steak was charred black and dry, despite ordering it medium rare. The manager was very apologetic and had the kitchen fire a new one. It was better, but it was quite rare inside. I didn't have them remake It and simply ate it. It did not come remotely close to approaching my expectations for a $50 steak (and I've eaten at other high-end steakhouse and paid similar prices). I expected each bite to make me think of how wonderful it is, but instead I kept thinking about how good I wish it was. When you are paying $50 just for the piece of meat, you expect it to be fantastic. On the upside, the blue cheese wedge salad and spinach sautéed in brown butter were absolutely excellent! We shared the bread pudding for dessert, and it was dry. Our server was pretty inattentive and had to be reminded of forgotten requests. The manager, on the other hand, tried his best to make sure we were happy.
Enjoyed the dinner. Porterhouse and Axis chops. Nice portions. Both cooked nicely and as ordered.. just a bit too crowded / noisy to our liking.
great service great food
Wonderful restaurant! It was located near to downtown. T bone steak, wine and house salad were great. I can enjoy the Texas steak house. I highly recommended this restaurant.
we stopped in early pm for a drink at the bar, francisco was working. the beer selection was very good. we shopped at wild bill's. walking back to our hotel we met tony at the 7-11 when he saw our wild bill's shopping bag. that evening we returned for dinner. steve and francisco were working the bar. this time we had cocktails, my martini was well made, as was my wife's margaretha. they were friendly and and had time to chat. a very nice bar experience. we were seated for dinner , brandon was our waiter. our cocktails, again, were great. he is very good. knows the menu, serves properly, with the appropriate interval between courses , and is almost invisible when passing by. our meal was excellent.
Was looking for a place with wild game on the menu in Dallas and YO Ranch hit it out of the park.
For appraisers, the Antelope Carpaccio was an delicious and unique experience and the Venison Rollups were very good. A great start to a great meal. The family each ordered their own dishes but we all shared tastes so I can report that my Wild Game Mixed Grill, a venison chop, buffalo fillet, and Quail Medallions were all wonderful. From others, I also tried the Filet Mignon, the Espresso Crusted Elk Tenderloin, and the Prosciutto Wrapped Sea Scallops. All of these dishes were well prepared and tasty. For sides we shared Wild Mushroom Bread Pudding and Maple Dijon Roasted Brussel Sprouts with Bacon. The only mild disappointment was the Brussel Sprouts. Personally, I would have cut them in halves rather than roasting them whole but that's just a nit pick. Overall an excellent meal that we all really enjoyed. If you have a taste for wild game, YO is the place in Dallas.
Overall, the restaurant was very nice. The elk rollups were outstanding, as were the quail medallions. Everyone's steak was cooked to perfection, except my Prime NY Strip that was tough and chewy. I was able to eat about 50% of it.
My wife and I went for our anniversary. The food was fantastic! We got the venison roll ups, bone in filet special, and the elk. That was by far the most tender meat we have ever eaten! The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The desert was great as well. We had the bread pudding. The noise level inside the restaurant was quiet even though there was a block party going on outside. There was a mix up with our order, but it was resolved quickly. The staff and management were very apologetic. Management even offered complimentary desert for the mix up. Overall we were very happy with our experience and will return.
Great ambiance and great steak and chops. I had a Tomahawk steak that was enormous.. Excellent
The Y.O. is a favorite in town. Bills itself as a steakhouse BUT the menu is so much more with many surprises in a good way. Food is good, service is good and no negatives to even mention. Even on crazy busy nights we always manage to be seated within 5 minute or so of reservation time. Highly recommended
Outstanding service. Great selection of local beers, wines and whiskeys. The buffalo fillet is my favorite, but I’ve had the venison quail and just about everything else on the menu. It is all outstanding.
Ran late on reservation, and was then seated in a cramped area of dining room. Food was very good. Appetizer portions were small for a table of 4. We had the cheese fritters and scallops. Steak was very good as were the sides.
Great food and service!! Wild Game Plate was excellent!
Drinks were well poured. Food was delicious. Complimentary desert for our anniversary was a nice touch
This time I had the water buffalo cream cheese appetizer and the buffalo filet. It was great. But my personal favorite so far is the elk.
They struggling with our meat temperatures. One person asked fir rare and hit medium well, another person asked fir medium and hit well done and a third persons fish was old... literally cold. The service was great though!
I love game meat and game meat at YO ranch is outstanding. Actually everything is great and my company love them. The service is excellent. Overall it is one of my favorite restaurant.
Fine steaks, quail, wild game... it was definitely a fine experience...
Awesome food, great service with a really cool rustic western feel. Loved the location as well.
An authentic Texan experience with warm folks, delicious food, and nice country side ambience. Highly recommended! I had the Buffalo fillet which was amazing!
Marcus was fantastic and attentive to our large party. He gave amazing recommendations and made sure we were all well taken care of. Thank you Marcus! Next time we're in Dallas, we will definitely stop by.
All good except my pecan pie came hot and I eat it cold. Next time ask me if I was it heated so I won’t burn my mouth.
The blueberry cheesecake was amazing-my colleague loved it.
Just recommend you ask if you want your pecan pie hot or cold.
Year in and year out this is my favorite DALLAS restaurant. Not a chain and not trendy, authentic Texas ranch decor and ambiance. The menu is constantly tweaked to provide new twists on old favorites. Clearly best in town for a “Taste of Texas”
Delicious steak and cocktails! House salad is perfect. Interesting history also.
It was our wedding anniversary and since we have kids we decided to have lunch here. Glad we picked this spot. Even though it wasnt a kids friendly restaurant, they were super nice and ready to help us with our 7month old baby. The server was very sweet and the floor manager was very helpful and friendly. The food we had Ripeye steak and buffalo Filet Mignon in medium. It was a little more rare than we would have liked. However the meats were so tender it was our first time that didn’t mind midium rare. It was just so tender and so good!!!! Can’t wait to go back.
From the cocktails to the steak and wild game options, everything was delicious. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough.
Amazing food and service! The best buffalo filet mignon, quail, and ny strip ever!
We had a fantastic experience at YO Steakhouse. We really appreciated the friendly and prompt service. Tomas was extremely attentive and personable. We will definitely visit again.
Everything was amazing. I rarely find a place that I couldn't give at least one critique to. Server was friendly and helpful recommending things to do. Food was on point. Great atmosphere. Highly recommend.
It was wonderful. Tomas was our server and he truly made the experience! He was friendly, funny, knew the menu and really took care of his customers!
I feel bad having to rate the food as low as I did, but having a $100 tomahawk poorly butchered in front of us, then sit while plates are gathered, wait even longer because they didn't have steak knives, and finally served to us completely cold, was really depressing. Bringing my friend to her first steak house visit on her first day to ever step foot in Texas was embarrassing.
I ordered the second most expensive cabernet by the glass, but they presented it to us was the "house cab," then when I asked them about it they didn't go check or say the correct order, they just changed their story and said yes it was "that one, the one you ordered." Then after all that, I would put money on it being a pinot noir considering the light fruity profile.
The wait staff also cleared every plate, glass, and utensil the second it was emptied or no longer in use, so it was very distracting to have even short conversations.
We didn't feel welcomed, more like we were being rushed out. Considering I knew my friend Our reservation was at 8:30, and tables were still being seated as we were being pressured to leave.
Our group of 9 had a truly great experience! Service was spot on - attentive without crowding or hovering, and very knowledgeable. The venison rollups and fritters were excellent appetizers and the Game Trio Platter was outstanding! Included buffalo steak, venison chop, and quail medallion. Also good selection of family style sides. Definitely recommend!
